Location:

Cabo de Palos a lovely traditional Spanish fishing village
The harbour at the fishing port has wonderful seafood restaurants and a fabulous atmosphere
Cabo de Palos has a lighthouse and is small peninsular extending into the Mediterranean
The Sunday market at Cabo is one of the biggest in the area
The beaches are soft and sandy, in places there are small coves, but on the other side of the peninsular they are long and wide
There is a great Chinese restaurant, beach café bars, cocktail bars, and it is a must for The Eve of the Three Kings

The immediate locality

Cabo de Palos is a really pretty fishing village which has still kept its own charm and is still very spanish. The harbour front itself is stunning with the yachts moored in the marina and the fishing boats that go in and out daily and haul their nets up onto the pavement. You can sit out and enjoy the best paella around on the pavement cafes whilst you watch the night fishermen go out for the evening catch. You can also go scuba diving in the Med from the harbour front.
The apartment itself is set is a nice quiet residential area of Cabo, and yet it is only a few minutes walk from a large supermarket. Cross the road from the supermarket is the top of the Sunday Market. This is one of the largest in the area and if you are looking for a bargain, particularly shoes and handbags .. then this is a MUST. You only need to fall out of bed on a sunday morning to find the market, and if all that shopping makes you thirsty you can stop in one of the cafe bars in the centre of the market for a beer or a coffee. After all this is Spain and the Spanish dont like to be too far from their next coffee!
The restaurants in Cabo are fantastic, there is a wide selection to choose from but personal favourites are MiraMar and the Taberna. Both of these are on the water front. MiraMar serves the most fantastic paella, whereas the Taberna is the place to enjoy a steak.

The surrounding area

You dont need to hire a car to enjoy your time at Cabo de Palos. There are fantastic beaches on the Mediterrenean coast. Some of these rocky coves are only accessible by foot which means that the beaches and almost private. Cabo de Palos is a rocky outcrop into the Med and has its own Lighthouse, from which you have the most fantastic views up the coast of La Manga Strip. There is a shallow shelving sandy beach opposite the harbour with a childrens play area and a restaurant just on the beach there. Or you can enjoy the coves of Calblanque. Calblanque is a nature reserve with a fantastic and beautiful coastline.
If you do want to hire a car and explore the rest of the area of Murcia it is very easy to get around. The motorways are relatively quiet and very well signed.

The apartment is in a very quiet area. It has access to a shared swimming pool, a west facing balcony, sea views, panoramic views. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.
