We were at Icarus House for 2 weeks in early July 2011 and loved the house and resort. The owners provided all the information we needed before departure and organised a taxi from airport to house.
We had spent a bit of time looking at all the accommodation options on the website so we knew what to expect, and when we arrived there was nothing to disappoint. House was very clean and had everything you could need - cleaning, ironing, condiments, storage, electronic safe, reading material - we were very impressed.
The temperature was getting hotter as the holiday went on so the A/C in the living area and all bedrooms were a god-send on occasions.
There were plenty of sun loungers at the pool and the residents or guests were all very friendly when we were there.
The pool is only OK in terms of size, but was generally quiet so a decent swim was always achievable.
The complex is a 15 - 20 min slow walk to the main restaurant areas which we did there and back most nights. We enjoyed the walks although there is a couple of busy roads to cross. Indeed Paphos is a very busy resort compared to some we have visited.
Plenty of choices for eating out, down towards the waterfront and also on Tomb of Kings Rd. Most restaurants were quite quiet so be prepared for waiters loitering outside every restaurant, although there are some very good deals to be found - in our opinion the block on Poseidon Ave to the left at the bottom of Iasonos had a very good selec tion of restaurants - Portobello, Viva Cyprus and Happy Island were good quality, and we also really enjoyed Brothers on our first night. For a cocktail/ nightcap we were regulars at Memories, and there are loads on options on front towards the harbour.
There is a good bus service for getting from one end of town to the other (or further afield) but you will often find taxi drivers stopping at bus stops and offering good prices (which we were happy to take advantage of)
In summary a very good holiday, very pleased with our choice this year, and would definitelty return.

We were very happy with our stay at Icarus House, however there were a few issues: 1. We feel it could have been cleaner, when we arrived (Sunday 22nd August) some of us walked around in bare feet and within minutes our feet were black, although we had a mid-stay clean the floor was still not washed and i would say not hoovered very thoroughly either. The same goes for the two patio areas these were not very clean on arrival nor did they appear to have been cleaned mid-stay either. 2. On arrival there was a note to say that the previous occupiers had broken the plug in the main bathroom but that it had been partially repaired, actually the plug did not work at all so washing in that sink was impossible and it was 5 days before someone came to repair it, which was unsuccessful so effectively we only had one sink to wash in the entire holiday for 8 people. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, the above issues did not spoil it they were just a minor irritation, we only mention them to help improve the service, particularly the cleaning as this is charged separately. Regards. Phil Bell
Owner reply:
The bathroom basin tap and plug assembly has been replaced and is now fully functional. As regards the standard of cleaning, after discussion with the cleaners we have agreed exactly what is expected of them, (a list of what is required has been provided to them), and the situation should not re-occur. This year is the first time that we have used these particular cleaners and obviously if they cannot meet the required standard, we will find someone who can. Future guests can be assured that they will find the house clean on arrival, and after any mid-stay cleans if they have been requested.
We have new (highly recommended) cleaners for 2011.

This property was excellent value for money. The house came fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. The garden patios were really good for relaxing in and the pool area was never overly busy.
I would certainly recommend this property to family and friends.
The owner of the property couldnt have been more helpful. 10 out of 10.

This property is well equipped and we were very satisfied. We lacked for nothing. I would certainly recommend this property to anyone. The owners Ian & Cheryl were very accommodating and responded to all our inquiries on a timely basis. We rented this place for 6 months and everything met our expectations and more often than not it exceeded our expectations. We will return again.
Thank you Ian & Cheryl for making this a perfect stay. Sherley & Johnny

Very good size villa fully equiped and spacious.
Very close to the communal pool so we could keep an eye on the children.
Bedroom sizes were good and slept 5 very easily, plenty of storage space.
Good size bathroom and downstairs shower room.
Roof top terrace was excellent anytime of the day. The downstairs outside space was again very handy especially late afternoon when you required some shade. Used the Bar B Q a lot, supermarkets are very local.
We found the area to be very quite and peaceful and after we found our bearings the walk to the restuarants in the evening was very quick.
Plenty to keep everybody occupied, we hired a car for a week and a trip to Troodes is a must.
Will recommned this villa to friends of all ages.

As two families, we enjoyed a relaxing 2 week holiday. The house is on a small complex in a quiet area. The house is very roomy and spacious. It is very well equipped with linen, towels, hairdryers and the kitchen has everything you need. There really is no need to bring anything. It is a real home from home. Cheryl provides excellent customer service and was very responsive prior to our visit with helpful tips about the house, area and and sorted out our transfer to/from the airport. There is also a comprehensive information book in the house.
As the weather was so hot, it was fantastic to have the poor right outside the back door. Although it is a shared pool area, there is plenty of room and ample sunbeds. It is an ideal spot for families and the people are friendly.
We enjoyed trips to Kato Paphos harbour and the local restaurants. The harbour area is very pretty and our two daughters got a great thrill from para gliding. We made use of Steves Taxis and the buses which are very efficient and air-conditioned. The furthest we ventured was Coral Bay. We would like to return another time when its cooler and venture further.
The Water Park is worth a visit though it is expensive by the time you pay the entrance fee and pay for food. Its worth picking up money-off vouchers if you can to get discount.
Overall it was a very relaxing holiday and we would highly recommend Icarus House

the property when we walked in looked like a palace, very spacious just as described on the website its easy to tidy and keep clean very child friendly and sleeps lots of people, its not very far to the local kiosk (very convienient) and the pool is right outside your back door, the only thing we will be doing in september is taking plug in mosquito repellers, and we will be returning to icarus house as its fully equiped with everything you need and exellent value for money i would recomend it without a doubt (its a must).

We enjoyed our stay at Icarus House. It was very comfortable and everything was provided. Our only difficulties were with the idiosyncratic front door and the Cypriot water supply which meant we were unable to use the washing machine.

Couldnt have asked for anything more than we had. The property was spotlessly clean and beautiful.Everything was better than expected and we had a great time. Even down to keeping the children entertained if they wanted to go inside out of the heat.

The accommodation far exceeded our expectations, there was everything and more than we could have hoped for. The complex was small and friendly, the children loved the pool.
Cherly and Ian, the owners, went far beyond the call of duty in assisting us, with taxis, information etc. There were instructions for all the equipment and nothing had been left to chance. All this really contributed to a relaxed and carefree holiday. And we would recommend both the accommodation and the owners to anyone.

Icarus House if probably the best appointed and furnished holiday home we've ever stayed in. The small complex was lovely and the residents freindly and helpful. Would highly recommend this property. Thanks Cheryl for all your help - it was above and beyond! 5*service and accommodation.

Icarus House was a real home from home, spacious, clean, all appliances in good working order, secluded garden & patio areas, quiet and relaxing. Cheryl & Ian were prompt in replying to any queries prior to arrival and we only had to call on their agent Tom once whilst out there who turned up within a couple of hours. We didn't want to come home!

This is probably one of the bes equipped villas we have stayed in in cyprus. (We have stayed in 5 up and down the island) there is nothing at all they could have added or done to make our stay and more comfortable. It is on alovely small complex, close to all amenities. The villa owner has thought of every eventuality. They are very thoughful people who go out of their way to make your holiday special for you. All info is there to give you short cuts, other villa users tips and help to make each day a treat. CANNOT GET MUCH BETTER THAN THIS ONE GUYS

Lovely big 3 bed villa which was extremely well equipped, with a great communal swimming pool only seconds away. It truly was a relaxing week, (even with both our kids)!! 10 minutes taxi to most places of interest, and only walking distance to a well stocked convenience store. Cheryl was brilliant when organising cot beds for our 2 kids, arranging for a gate to be put up, and sorting a taxi out to pick us up at the airport - superstar! Lovely garden, and the weather was faultless in October! Highly recommended, many thanks again Cheryl!
5* Accomodation.

The villa was extremely clean and had everything imaginable. Every time we opened a cupboard or drawer we found something else. The pool was the warmest we've ever been in on holiday. There was a problem with the pool clouding over, however the pool men worked very hard to solve the problem very quickly.
We were sorry we hadn't taken our driving licences, because even though you could walk to places or get a bus it was extremely hot and the bus stops weren't near the complex. The taxis are reliable and will take you anywhere locally for £6 for 6 people, this can be quite expensive over 2 weeks.
The people at the complex were all very nice and everyone got on well.
It took about 20 minutes to walk to bar street, which the teenagers loved, and about 25/30 minutes to walk to the harbour. Overall we were very impressed with the villa and also the quick responses from the owners to our e-mails.
There is some building work around the complex but it isn't that close and doesn't cause a problem. Would definately book again!

The villa was extremely clean, spacious and well equipped. Everything necessary for a relaxed pool holiday was provided. The pool area was lovely with plenty of sunbeds/parasols. The emails from the owner prior to the visit were very helpful and friendly. We loved the holiday and would definitely go again.

A fantastic apatrment with everything it in you could need and more.Ideally positioned on the end so excellent for privacy. Caters for families and couples alike.Emails were answered straight away and nothing was too much trouble. Transfers and a welcome pack is advised. Spent alot of time in the lovely pool which is set in a nice quiet area. Walked into town every evening where you have the bar street which is excellent for a good night out, especially Woody's, great people in there :-). Look out for the Crepe shop, gorgeous, walked home munching one most evenings, or the next street down is quieter but still loads of bars and restaurants. Go down again and you can walk along the beach front. Best restaurant s we found were Little Palace & Gorgona, excellent food and service. If going to other places to eat i wouldnt recommend the package meals, pay slightly more and choose from the menus. You wont need to hire a car as we walked most places if not a taxi will take you anywhere for cp£4.00. The waterpark is excellent and well worth a visit. Spend a morning at the market and pick up some bargains ;-). Will definately be going back another year, cant say enough about it. Happy holidays!!

We found this property to be extremely well equipped, with everything you could want and more. The roof terrace was a real bonus. The house was spotlessly clean. The complex has a very friendly feel about it and the swimming pool was lovely. We would definately go back again.

Property it'self was great, but quite a bit of development work going on in the area at the moment meant that you kind of had the feeling of being in the middle od a building site. Not overerly intrusive, just not the most inspiring surroundings! Otherwise, great location, minutes from the centre and a very nice accomodation.
Had a great time.

The building works across the road have now been completed.

I would rate Icarus House as probably the best equipped holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in. It was spacious, very comfortable and furnished to a very high standard. The complex was well cared for and ideally situated.
Information given by the owners prior to the holiday was helpful detailed and accurate.
I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Icarus House.

This property is not very old and therefore was of an excellent standard. Most important for me was that it was nice and clean. All mod cons were supplied and the owner was extremely helpful with all queries (providing maps and local information). The house is in a central location in Paphos and therefore all amenities were close by. The only thing about Paphos is that there is a lot of building work going on so you are never too far from the noise of diggers! Will definitely be going back to Cyprus - we loved it!

Excellent high quality fully equiped property.
There was 6 members of our group staying in this property and there was more than enough space for us all not to feel on top of eachother.
Superb location-approx 15-20 mins walk to the main centre where all the bars, restaurant and nightlife were.
The pool was clean and tidy with plenty of sunbeds/parasols-no need to get up early to put your towels on the beds!!
Overall a fabulous property with everything you need.
Would definately stay here again-hopefully sometime soon. 10/10 star rating.

The service was first class right from the time we booked the villa to the very end. Arrangements to be picked up from and returned to the airport went without a hitch despite the airline changing the time of our flight umpteen times and then changing the airport. The villa was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. The pool was great - needed due to the very hot weather. We found shortcuts to Kato Paphos - took about 15 minutes.
The DVD's and books left in the villa were a boon, kept the children and men amused when too hot to go out and in the evenings (if staying in).
The washing machine and dishwasher made life easier all round as did the Welcome Packs.
Recommend the Full Moon for breakfast and Black Eagle for a meal.
All in all a wonderful holiday.

ALL THE FACILITIES AT THE HOUSE WERE GREAT AND WE ALL HAD A LOVELY HOLIDAY. BOOKING WAS MADE VERY EASY WITH PLENTY OF INFORMATION PROVIDED BEFORE THE HOLIDAY WHICH IS ALWAYS HELPFUL
We all had a really lovely time and your house is beautiful, it is really well equipped and we couldn't have wished for a better place. Tom provided a super service, he was waiting for us at the airport when we got there and was spot on time bringing us back.
The two boys had a great time in bar street until the early hours every day! and Kevin and I enjoyed some wonderful relaxing dinners in the lovely restaurants. Some friends of ours were married in Peyia near Coral Bay and some of their guests wished they had stayed near us. Its a lovely complex and the people that were staying there were all lovely and friendly.
If any of our friends wish to holiday in Paphos I will be more than happy to recommend your house and will put them in touch with you. Thank you for making the booking so lovely and easy, beats dealing with some of the tour operators any day!

we felt the description and photos given beforehand understated the property somewhat, it was much nicer than we expected although the floor plans were a good clue.. The other residents/guests on the estate all seemed happy with their accommodation which we felt made for a very pleasant atmosphere. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you.
