Very much enjoyed our stay. Apartment was clean and we were very appreciative of the nice gift basket of treats.
Our only suggestions would be to supply bath cloths and provide phone numbers for local apartment contacts. The numbers given would not work on the local phone.
Overall, we were very pleased, had a great experience in Ecuador and would definitely use this property again.

A microwave oven should be very useful.
The television should bw in the living room, not in the bed room.

This is just a note to say thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your lovely flat! We had a wonderful time-we visited Cuenca, Banos and Otavalo and went hiking around the Quilatoa Lake. We didn't manage to get down to the jungle but figure Ecuador is definitely a place we'll be returning to (hopefully sooner rather than later!)
Thanks again

Great apartment. A little noisy with the airplanes!

I want to add that the security staff at the building were pleasant and helpful, the cleaning staff did an amazing job and my overall impression of the apartment was that it was comfortable and pleasant witrh a fantastic view. I am very very impressed with how the whole transaction was handled, from the ease of navigating the web-site all the way through to the end when we returned the keys. The experience has planted the seed in my head that I would like to do the same with my apt here in the USA when I plan to live in Ecuador

The apartment is wonderful! It was definetely much more than we had hoped for.
It is quiet, very clean, roomy and bright. The view is gorgeous and the guard is really nice and helpful.
The kitchen and laundry room are so well-equipped! Oh! and the hair dryer in the master bathroom was an absolute life-saver.
The welcome basket was a lovely touch and Ruthy is just great! Thank you so much for everything!

Very clean and well supplied. Apartment is very secure and only lacks a back up generator in case of loss of electric power which we experienced the morning we had to leave. Saying that, the owners had a good stock of candles readily available to reduce the bother. all in all a very good experience.

We got back to the states just last Wednesday night. Wanted to let you know we had a great time in Ecuador and enjoyed the apartment tremendously. The little store at the bottom of the hill was a great resource and the views were wonderful.

This is a beautiful apartment, with phenomenal views of Guapulo, spacious and tastefully decorated rooms, a well-equipped kitchen, a thoughtful welcome basket, and an excellent selection of English-language books and movies. We have stayed in many, many places in Quito, and Casa Encalada is by far the best!

A wonderful property in a very convenient location - easy walking distance of a few restaurants/bars, panaderias, shops, internet cafes,...
The views over the Cumbaya valley are truly awesome - I wonder where the vultures landed to feed.
The wildlife outside the picture windows kept us enthralled - did the bright yellow, black and white grossbills ever settle down and breed? How do hummingbirds manage to keep their wings moving so fast? Are the butterflies really that colourful?
The apartment is very well appointed and in excellent decorative order. Ruthy and her son Jorge were very helpful with the transfers. If only José (one of the guards) spoke more slowly I'm sure I'd have understood more than 'Como esta?'.
Gill was enthralled at the local lady washing her clothes on a stone 'washboard' but declined my offer to buy her one - Irena (the weekly maid) also preserred to use the washing machine and electric iron.
Would definitely recommend - apart from the period I want to book for next time!

This apartment is absolutely wonderful! I was very pleased with the service, furnishings and condition of the apartment. A few more appliances in the kitchen would have been nice (e.g. blender, there are wonderful fruits with which to make juices in the tropics!), but this was, by no means, a major let down. The guards were very friendly and helpful and the location seems extremely safe. I would recommend this apartment for anyone who can afford it.

We have arrived safely in quito and were met by Ruthy and other members of the family which was fantastic! The flat is georgous we absolutely love having the haven in the mountains it feels so different from down in the city. We are far too comfortable there it would be easy not to go out. Everyone is incredibly friendly and patient with our desperate spanish. Jim has been really helpful and gave us a contact for a tour operator that he knows so we booked our Galapagos trip today and are going from 11th -18th December. We will leave quito again on the 19th heading for Banos where we plan to cycle into the jungle, do a rafting trip and wallow in hot springs. We will probably be in Otavalo region for christmas and hopefully with be able to stay in the Casa Mojanda. I really fancy the horse riding in the mountains.

Just a quick note to say that I spoke to Matt last night and he said that the flat is lovely - very comfortable with beautiful views. He also asked me to thank you for the little basket of coffee, wine etc that was left. Thanks again for all your help.

Yes thankyou we had a lovely time in Ecuador - the apt in Guapulo is lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed staying there, particularly the views! Could have stayed another month easily! Thank you to you and also to Ruthy for being flexible and enabling us to stay a few more days following our tour around the country.

The flat is more than I could have hoped for. I have almost everything I need and Ruthy and her son Jorge have made sure I am happy and that everything here is perfect. All of my friends here are jealous that I have such a nice place to stay and I can say for certain that apart from my current home in the US this is the nicest place I have ever stayed. The view is so beautiful! I don't see how I could want for anything more than this apartment!!
Thanks for your inquiry and for the apartment!

Very nice apartment, well kept and a fantastic welcome basket of the key essentials such as tea and coffee on arrival - a lovely touch. The flat was clean, quiet and had fantastic views across Guapulo. Everything that was needed for an enjoyable stay was provided. The owners went out of their way to assist for which we are very grateful. A definite recommendation for anyone looking to stay in Quito.
