The region has beautiful underwater coral gardens and reefs (you wont believe it until you see it!) and its no surprise that many world famous hotel chains such as Hilton, Sheraton and Hyatt have also established resorts in this gorgeous region
Many famous and established brand name shops, restaurants and tourism companies also have branches here
Most of the tourists in Sharm come from Europe. Italians, for example, seem to be in love with the sea and many live and work here as divers and entertainers.

The accommodation is exactly as is described in the brochure:
An excellent base to explore/enjoy Sharm-al-Sheikh.
Very near to the beach: This is very important as beaches are apparently all privately owned and some hotels require transport (and extra payment?) to get to a beach. The beach is clean, well equipped and very near to some wonderful reefs (a real heaven for snorkelling).
Located within a 5 star hotel: The hotel is actually very good, well equipped and is manned by helpful and well trained staff. As a guest of chalet 3540, you get to benefit from all the amenities and most services that this hotel has to offer. It has a number of good restaurants including chinese, indian, italian and egyptian. I found it best to not go for the all inclusive option, instead paying-per-visit where it comes to restaurants. This decision was taken based on the fact that I was out on excursions half the time making the all inclusive rather trivial.
Apart from that the chalet is very comfortable. Theres an adequately equipped kitchenette for those who prefer that, comfortable doublebed in bedroom along with an extra kids bed and a sofa bed. Upon arrival we found that the overall cleanliness is good.
A small note on abdul, Gamals assistant: We found that the best way to have him collect us from the airport was to give him a quick call to confirm arrival the moment we set foot in the airport. He was at the entrance of the airport within 10 minutes. The fee was 70 egp, but dont take this as a hard fixed rule, in Egypt you are expected to negotiate about prices and abdul is no exception. Getting abdul to pick you up and dro p you to and from the airport is, in my opinion, advisable as he has got permits to drive his taxi into the resort (not everyone can) and therefore be able to simplify the transfer of luggages.
I look forward to spend more time in Sharm and would undoubtedly book my stay in Chalet 3540. More...

All aspects of the holiday were excellent. Of particular mention
- good location both in terms of closeness to airport - just right, close enough for easy access without inconvenience of excess noise - and position within Sea Magic Resort - great views over Red Sea.
- very comfortable king size bed although would say that the fold up settee bed in lounge only really suitable for 1 adult which was okay for us.
- everything available in chalet in terms of equipment - in fact we virtually self catered for the whole week.
- perfect support available if required from "own" driver although like everything in Egypt you need to bring a little negotiation to the discussions regarding fares.
- very impressed by the concern shown by the owner that we should enjoy our stay.
- we found no issues with the resort itself even though it has very recently moved from Pyramisa to Sea Magic ownership. Staff were all excellent, pools and surrounds were cleaned routinely, towels freely available, plenty of sun beds around pools and on various beaches, fantastic fish to see when snorkelling which is made easy by floating pontoons. As we did not really use the restaurants prefer to reserve comment but we did not hear any complaints from other guests.
- of course weather is always perfect which makes any holiday - we had sun and blue skies every day with 37 degs C during day and 25 degs C at night.
- would strongly recommend taking one of the numerous boat trips to snortel over the coral reefs around Tiran Island - a great, good value day out - we paid £25 each.
Think we have covered everthing. If you do visit we hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did. More...

A great week in the sun
We have rented this apartment for a week in march 2010. When we arrived, I was first really impressed by the luxury of the hotel complex where the chalet is located. Despite being very close to all the amenities of the hotel complex, the chalet is situated in a quiet part. The fact that a fruit basket and teas and coffees were prepared for us made us feel very welcomed.
The chalet itself is big, and has all the equipment you need for a holiday. The reception room is large and comfortable and is facing a beautiful sea view. The open kitchen is very practical. The bathroom is clean, hotel style, with a hair drier soap, towels. The bedroom is also very large with a comfortable king size bed. The best thing about this chalet is the sea view that you can actually enjoy from your bed, it is so relaxing. There is also a lovely terrace where we have enjoyed drinks while looking at the sunset ...
As for our stay, we have enjoyed having the freedom of being in our own appartment whilst being able to enjoy the facilites of the hotel complex such as the 3 different beaches, and the swimming pool. It was a good compromise between staying in a hotel and having a total freedom in organising our holiday. The fact that a driver is recommended by the owner to take us around and bring some shopping from a european supermarket made everything easier, as we were first worried about having to cope with food shopping while on holiday.
We would happily recommend this option , for a group of friends or a family, as it is a much cheaper option than going to a hotel, with all the advantages.
Sharm is an amazing city, full of energy and things to do, especially diving in the clear and warm waters of the red sea. We have really enjoyed our stay. More...

"Met our expectations & more!"
The location of the chlaet within the resort is absoultely perfect! So lovely to wake up each morning to such beautiful scenery! The chalet is only a short walk away from the main beach and about a minute away from one of the swimming pools. Even the main swimming pool is only a 5 minute walk away. But if you dont feel like walking the bus service with friendly drivers is very frequent. The chalet itself is lovely and has everything you would posibly need! I used the kitchen a couple of times to cook rather than go out to eat and found everything I needed to hand. There is a huge fridge, lovely dining table and chairs, sofas to relax on. The bed in the main bedroom was huge and very comfortable with huge wardrobe and dressing table. My two girls slept on the sofa bed and and had no complaints. The bathroom was nice and big with a clean shower and toilet. The cleanliness of the chalet and of the resort was immaculate. My daughters loved every minute of the holiday, and the chalet really was like a home away from home. The garden area at the front was nice for them to play in whilst we relaxed on the porch. staff at resort were extremely helpful and always friendly and pleased to see us. our house keeping was done by ahmed and ashraf who always did a fantastic job. The staff on the main beach, Abdul sattar and Mohammad were also great. The beach was very clean and the snorkelling was great fun! I would highly recommend the spa, the full body massages are great value for money! I would like to thank Mr Gamals assistant abdo who drove us everywhere for the week. Recommended places to eat which were always lovely and picked us up from and dro pped us off within the resort at the chalet, which other taxi drivers are not able to do, when the girls were tired this was a massive help. Thankyou Mr Gamal for making sure we had an enjoyable stay and thankyou for the welcome pack you left us.
