Poros is a verdant and beautiful island with neoclassical and Venetian architecture, picturesque and authentic villages and wonderful sandy and pebble beaches with crystalline deep blue waters. All those charms and beauties make it a perfect island for relaxing and peaceful holidays.
Although Poros is a small island, a visitor has many things to do and see during his/her stay. Visit attractions, realize small escapes(mainland of Peloponissos or other islands of Saronic gulf) , perform activities of alternative character such trekking, fishing and mountain biking, live up the nightlife of the town by visiting its bars & night clubs or experience the local cuisine by visiting a plenty of traditional taverns & restaurants.
Poros island position is a quite privileged one as it is situated almost in the midst of Saronic gulf. As a result, it is easily reachable as it is not too far from Athens/Piraeus(1 hour by high-speed ferry & 2h 30min by normal ferry) and very close to the mainland of Peloponnisos and the islands of Hydra & Aegina. The island also is unobstructedly accesible for visitors because in the event of prohibition of boat departures due to bad whether, they have the alternative option of reaching the island through land by car.
