  • In the quiet Bay of Gumusluk there are about 6 small Restaurants and Bars. Here, you can enjoy the delightful fresh caught fish from the local fishermen! or tradtional Turkish food. From the terrace there is a wonderful view of Gumusluk Bay! A car is not essential requirement, however, as there is so much to do and see in the area, it would be a missed opportunity not to have one.

We found the villa as described by the owner (Geoff) . The views from the patio are quite stunning , probably the best views during breakfast we have experienced , in the evening the sunsets are beautiful . Being pensioners but in good health we experienced no problems with the hillside situation . Transport from Gumsan is easy , Dolmus services to Bodrum , Turgutreis and Gundogan run throughout the day and are an inexpensive way to see the area and appreciate Turkish hospitality . All in all it is a ten out of ten experience .

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Gumsan. The beach lido was without question the best on the Bodrum Peninsula. The villa was a great value, we cooked in almost every night and found the kitchen quite adequate. The weather was perfect while we were there, but I could see where it may be too hot without A/C. The house is furnished well, beds very comfortable. I do believe you need a rental car, unless you want to hike a lot to go swimming in the sea, but the pool is just a few steps away. Would recommend to anyone.

Overall, the property met our expectations providing a decent sized villa in a quiet area. However, Turkey is very hot in August and we struggled sometimes without air-conditioning particularly as the fans were a bit broken and so didnt seem safe to leave on overnight in a childrens bedroom. We also found the bathrooms lacking. We understand that the Turkish plumbing means that toilet paper needs to be put in the bin but we found it impossible to stop the toilets themselves smelling of ammonia. We were obviously not the first to notice this as there were lots of air fresheners and toilet blocks around the place. Nevertheless, these small complaints were more than made up for by the easily accessible and lovely swimming pool and the beautiful relaxing environment around the villa. Other reviewers had suggested that hiring a car would be a good idea. We chose not to do this and found that the Dolmus service was great - reliable, frequent and reasonably priced. Overall then, we would all give the villa a thumbs up if, like us you are looking for something away from the big resorts and are not afraid to give up a few luxuries.

The property was in a lovely secluded location within the complex, yet was minutes to the pool and the bar/restaurant. The property itself was better than we expected particularly the spacious upstairs that left lots of room for suitcases etc. The guy running the bar/restaurant was very helpful and accommodating. Although the menu was limited what was available was tasty with a real home cooked feel. It was great value for money. Once we got over the hurdle of confirming our identity to access the private lagoon - this was a delight. We felt very exclusive. The whole family preferred this as a location than the beach in Gumusluk. We divided our time between the beach at Gumusluk, the lagoon at the complex and day trips. Of our trips - Bodrum, Turgetreis, and Yalikavak we would certainly recommend Bodrum and Yalikavak. Turgetreis was a bit too touristy for our taste. Overall a very memorable holiday, particularly the stunning views and sunsets across the bay.

the villa was very comfortable for two adults and three kids and had everything we could have wished for and more, including sun hats, beach mats, a good selec tion of films etc... The terrace provided us with a cool and shaded place to relax with a great sea view, the swimming pool was a hit for the entire family and the family running the cafe there was friendly and very helpful. lido beach is also fantastic. It was our fourth time in the area and we will going back to gumsan next time. went several time to yalikavak, turgutreiss, bodrum and had three separate days out on boats (our favorite thing to do, for only 35 pounds for the whole family) aquapark was also good fun. cheap transfer from airport recommended by Geoff who owns the villa.

We had a fantastic holiday and the villa is lovely. Gumusluk (and the surrounding towns) are great places if you want to get away from the hassle of the bigger citys (tourist resorts) in Turkey, but at the same time has everything you might want... there are quiet relaxing beaches and resturants in Gumusluk and a 10/15 min bus ride to the more busier shops and bars. The dolmus (bus) are very cheap and run until 2/3am so can have a good night out without any hassle. Gumsan complex has its own pool and small shop very close by and the beach lido is lovely with two cafes, showers and changing rooms and a safe area to swim. Although the beach is a nice walk down the hill it can be a treck to walk back up, however, there is a beach train that will dro p you off at the villa if you dont fancy the walk. The villa is as described, comfortable and clean and lovely to sit out in the evening. The turkish residents nearby were really freindly offering help if we needed (we thought that was lovely) also Stu the owners freind who picked us up at the airport was very helpful too. We would recommend both the villa and the area of Gumusluk and would go back their again ourselves.

The villa is an lovely location, with views over the Agean. It is quite hilly, so we would have struggled without a hire car in the August heat even though the local Dolmus service was very convenient and cheap to use. We had a few problems with the water supply as it is turned off for several hours a day in the complex. The owners have installed a reserve water tank, but there must have been a leak as we were left without running water for a few hours on a couple of days. We have fed this back to the owners, and Im sure this will soon be resolved. The surrounding villages are beatiful with some lovely restaurants & shops, and we would definately recommend watching the sun go down whilst eating in the Limon restaurant in Gumusluk, it was quite spectacular.

We had a nice time at our vacation. The villa is well equipped, we especially liked that there was a washing machine and DVD/VHS movies since we have children. The villa is quite high up on a hill, we recommend familes to rent a car, it is to far to the beach for small children to walk in the heat. The pool area is well kept and a really nice family is running it. We bought cookies and other pastries they baked, they also serve good turkish food at nights - even though it doesn´t really show, they have no signs. But ask for a menu!

A most comfortable and well presented property. It has everything you could need as well as a fantastic view and peaceful location. The photos do not do this property justice. We can highly recommend this property in all its aspects. The owners have taken alot of care to present the house well and provide all the comforts. Ideally located to explore this area of Turkey easily.

The villa was perfect for our holiday and everything you could possibly want was provided. The location of the villa is quiet with lovely views. Friendly local people and from Istanbul & Ankara and not over run with us foreigners was a welcome discovery in this resort. The area is amazing, and Gumusluk,a little gem, quite close by. Hiring a car enhances your options but it's not absolutely necessary as the dolmus service is friendly and frequent. A great place to visit with interest and variety to meet every taste.

We had a problem with keys and gaining entry to the villa but with the help of a Gordon who lives on site this was quickly sorted out, the villa we stayed in was excellent we still do not know who the owner was but all in all a very good site. Living in Turkey we drove to Bodrum I think looking back to see the beauitiful bays etc that the area has you do need to hire a car even if only for two or three days because it is a wonderful part of the country. We would like to thank Gordon for his help and of course his lovely wife Tina.

Owner reply:
Unfortunately this booking was mixed up with our other villa (Ref No. 29360) and this party was given the wrong keys. Our friend Gordon, very quickly sorted out the problem and Mr Gates was shown to Manzara Villa (Ref No. 29360)

The property is located in very nice position, you jus look out and have an amazing view of the ocean. The main town of Bodrum is not that far, and Yalikavak is really close which is a nice town. Also the villa is really close to Rabbit Island which is also a plus. Overall this property is amazing and only thing i would recommend is the installation of A/C! Other than that a great villa a must recommend

Owner reply:
Air Conditioning will be installed when we arrive in September.

We chose Gumusluk Villa because it looked good value, and the area looked lovely. The house was nice and very clean and for a self catering holiday it has all that you require. We loved the pool area, which has a large pool and two small pools for the children, and the complex itself is really very pleasant. The views from the terrace are excellent and we had several wonderful BBQ’s watching the sun go down over the nearby Greek Islands. Gumusluk is a small fishing village, and very quaint, with fabulous restaurants which light up all along the beach. The village has terrific sea views and small beaches, which were not at all over crowded. The town of Turgetreis is close by, and easily accessible by local dolmus or car - you must visit the Saturday market there for souvenirs to take home at very cheap prices. Overall we can say that Gumusluk Villa is fantastic value for money. Great location - short walk to swimming pools and beach. Quiet - if you are looking for nightclubs and bars then you will need to travel but they are only 20mins away.

Hi John
We hope that you had a nice holiday in our villa at
Gumusluk.
As part of our marketing plan we usually write to our clients to ask them if they enjoyed their stay, or if they had any problems.
Because we have not been in the renting business for too long we want to try and improve each year. Therefore we would really appreciate any comments that you may have.
Regards
Geoff and Olya

Dear Geoff and Olya
We greatly enjoyed our stay at Gumusluk villa and
Turkey. Mr Boye was waiting for us at the airport and
we found him courteous and efficient. The villa was
well equipped and clean and although we ate out most
nights found it pretty well sorted. The only addition
could be another fan as we needed one in each bedroom
and in the lounge for sleeping as it was incredibly
hot. We would certainly consider returning to the
villa in the future. Thanks for all your info and
help. It all added to the enjoyment.
Regards
John

We have been to Turkey on many occasions but this trip far exceeded any previous trips for a few reasons, the villa was really well equipped with all the home from home comforts, the only thing missing was a shade for the terrace as it got really hot during the day. We recieved all the details of the locality when we booked, the owner recommended a local agent to provide airport transfers, he provided a really professional service. We had a minor problem but when we contacted the OWNER directly they sorted it out immediately, so if you book this villa make sure that you take your contact details with you as Villa renters were unable to assist us when we contacted them initally. It's a really beautiful part of Turkey and definately worth the visit.

The villa is very good located and indeed has the very beautifull views. The owner directions to the villa is very good, we find it easy. Everything we want is in the villa, and we loved it. The people friendly and hospitable are. The food lovely and the fabulous coast line, the seas are lovely and we had great times in them. The swimming pool is also located very good, we wished we could have stayed a longer time and want to return next year. Thank you very much. Anya Rudnichenko.

The property was in a beautiful position, with a breathtaking view from the patio, from which we could enjoy spectacular views of the sunset every evening. The villa itself was extremely well equipped (the best we've ever experienced) and very comfortable. We also appreciated the care of the owners beforehand and after, who were keen to ensure that we had a good holiday and were extremely helpful in giving guidance and advice about the villa and surroundings, including car hire, and ensured that we also had someone at hand when we were there. Over all we had a wonderful holiday, and have already recommended the villa and the Villarenters service to many friends.

The villa is comfortable and beautiful, lovely surroundings on the "estate" with huge pool - very often the only ones there in the morning! Lots of mod cons for convenience too. Gumusluk village has fantastic fish restaurants - try the ones at the far end for a romantic dinner. The scenery is stunning and loved being with Turkish people all the time - even in the other villas. Definitely recommended!
