My family (10 members) spent a week at this lovely villa and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. The house is well maintained and very spacious. Kids had a good time in the pool while the adults relaxed in the tranquil gardens. Salam was an excellent cook and always willing to help. Would most definitely visit again and highly recommend this lovely villa and the team that runs it.

The villa is beautiful,an idyllic space and now even better with the new kitchen and a/c in the bedrooms. With Salaam(house keeper and chef) being there made the whole experience that much more pleasurable, and like having a 2nd home in Goa.We will definately be coming back and recommend it wholeheartedly.

The housekeeper/chef is brilliant and definately makes the property worth returning for-I am not sure I would otherwise.

The house is beautiful, both architectually and in decor, as is the landscaping. It is very spacious, and had plenty of room for our party of seven. We visited in April, and it was just too hot for our baby. I hadnt realized there was no air conditioning, though I should have, as its a heritage house. I would also recommend new mosquito nets the one in my room had a lot of holes.
The housekeeper was amazing he and my three year old son bonded immediately. He may even be greater than the beauty of the house itself.
I would love to visit again, but would do so in January or February.
Owner reply:
Hi - thanks for this feedback! To make the house more comfortable in the hot season we added split ACs to all the bedrooms (not to the great hall and common rooms which remain open to the tile roof ventilation). We think this makes the house even more comfortable. All mosquito nets have been replaced. We also completely remodeled the kitchen (as in photos). The lovely think about heritage properties is that its always a work in progress!

A truly beautiful and unique villa, set in wonderful gardens with a much enjoyed pool. The villa is spacious and offers a welcome cool and relaxing atmosphere. It is also fantastic for children with pool and safe surroundings which makes the holiday even more relaxing for parents.
Salam, the housekeeper, spoils you completely with fantastic fresh meals, cups of wonderful ginger and mint tea and enormous hospitality and care to make sure your holiday is truly a fantastic experience. He takes particular care to ensure food is fresh, well prepared and washed with filtered / bottled water. He also took us on wonderful trips including the local markets, buying lobster directly from the fishing boats, beach trips, visits to the Spice Farms, historic villas, "safe" ice cream parlours and restaurants.
If you like having your own space, and want to have a unique experience living in a beautiful Villa, you cannot beat Villa Salmona and the welcome of Salam and his staff.

Salam and his team make this property exceed all expectations. His good humour, food and general willingness to help make it a pleasure to be there.
Only improvements could be the lighting, which is poor and would also be great to have some comfy loungers out onthe grass where the sun is.
All in all a great place
Owner reply:
Hi - thanks to all the reviewers for all the compliments and praise! Were so glad that we continue to exceed your expections. To the two reviewers who mentioned wanting better lighting - thanks also for the constructive criticism. The high ceilings and large rooms do mean extra light is important - so weve added multiple additional lamps and ceiling lights. Hope you all find it bright enough now! Best -Katherine

Excellent location. Close to Candolim, Calangute and Baga and yet far enough away to remain an oasis of peace and tranquility. The house, gardens and pool are superb; exceeding our wildest expectations. What really made the difference though was Salam, the housekeeper. A great host and excellent cook who looked after our every need, including the speedy facilitation of medical treatment for one of our party. Over the years we've traveled frequently, but never returned to a destination. Why would you, when there is so much more in the world to see? But Goa, Villa Salmona and most of all Salam have changed that. We've only been back two days and we're already planning our return.

We loved the place and the staff was terrific! Lovely location not too far from the beaches but far enough to escape the noise. The Cook, Salaam is an extremely friendly and forthcoming chap. All in all - a great holiday experience for my little family and myself. Thanks a lot.

Just back.
We had a wonderful time. The house is gorgeous and the pool was a godsent in the incredible heat. We loved the neighborhood and the beach in the north. When we went to Baga beach we were just amazed that anyone would fly from Europe to sit in a parking lot of beach umbrellas!
The dolphin trip, walking around Panjim and collecting shells on the beach were all great.
Thanks for providing us with the perfect getaway for our family.
Love,
Jackie

A beautiful property, thoughtfully restored. A fantastic house keeper who looked after us extremely well, we hope to return one day. The property is great for kids and families, only one slight downside which is that the separating bedroom walls don't meet the ceilings so crying babies during the night can be heard loudly and clearly by all other guests. Don't let this put you off though, just buy some ear plugs!!!
One of our most relaxing holidays ever!
Owner reply:
Since Tania visited our property (and thanks to great feedback from guests like her) we've made some improvements. We've added three new ensuite bathrooms, changed the wall heights and added a loft space. In effect these changes have made all three bedrooms more private and quiet. So the crying babies should now at least only wake up their parents! By adding a loft space (with two twin beds) the house can now also accomodate 8-9 people. Thanks to all our past guests for their feedback! Katherine
