The pictures dont do the property justice really. The trullo, pool and surrounding area are delightful - a truly relaxing place for a holiday. It is well positioned for exploring the surrounding area and far enough away from other buildings for complete privacy but close enough to Alberobello for evening meals. Renovation of the property was clearly carried out with care and attention to detail - the lighting options are amazing - the pool at night being especially attractive! Donatella and her team take obvious pride in the upkeep of the trullo and responded promptly to the couple of queries we had. We would not hesitate to recommend Trullo Patrizia to others.

This is a very nice property in a quiet rural area but not too far from Alberobello and its World Heritage Site - 10 minute drive. The villa is well laid out and equipped and there is a nice garden with an excellent swimming pool. The property is surrounded by open "grounds" so it is also secluded. The property and pool are well maintained. The rental was good value for money and I would recommend it to others.

Four of us stayed at this fabulous Trullo which is hidden in the most beautiful setting. The pool was larger than we anticipated, and plenty of sun loungers and beach towels were provided. I dont actually think that the pictures did the Trullo justice. We were very pleasantly surprised. The Trullo is well equipped with most of the items that you need for great stay, however, one of the bedrooms did not have a wardrobe, so one couple had to use a wardrobe in the hall area, which wasnt ideal. There were a few things that could have been provided to make our stay better, and that would be a hairdryer, washing machine (although we could have utilized the laundry service) and a better welcome pack. I feel that a welcome pack comprising of one bottle of water, a pack of eggs and some toilet roll is a bit meagre for a property of this calibre. Most villas we have stayed in in the past provide at least a pint of milk, tea bags, a loaf of bread and a bottle of wine. Also the map and directions provided were a little poor. Not wanting to sound too negative as the Trullo was amazing, but there were a lot of rules dotted about the place to adhere to, and the information pack sent out to us before the holiday was quite austere. I would suggest that most people spending this amount of money on a villa would treat it with respect and wouldnt need to be reminded to clean up after themselves, not to waste water, or to use plastic cups outside rather than glass to save breakages. Improve these very small but important details and we would give the Trullo 10 out of 10. Overall though, Trullo Patriza was a cracking place to stay, a home from home, with nearby places to visit. Its very private. The villa really does feel like its in the middle of no where. We were not over looked by anybody, so we could chill out and relax without the fear of any unwanted neighbours spoiling our peace and quite. We wouldnt hesitate to recommend it to a friend.

Owner reply:
Many thanks for your feedback, good and not so good. In terms of the trullo and facilities, it's a trullo!! You can't fit a washing machine in or a wardrobe because of the space available, but that's part of the charm of these ancient properties. You actually did not request a welcome pack - we always leave water and toilet rolls for all guests. No one else has complained about the map and it goes into so much detail I'm not sure what else we can do. The "rules" are actually just friendly reminders not to waste water - regrettably many people waste water and do not leave the trullo as they found it. The info pack is simple a welcome to your holiday and a set of terms and conditions which have to be sent by law but it is friendly. Ironically you did not read the info pack or you would not have sent the key back a week late! Anyway, pleased you enjoyed your holiday despite the niggles.

Trullo Patrizia was the most idyllic, tranquil setting for our honeymoon in May/June 2010. The Trullo has been restored beautifully & sympathetically & has all the amenities you would want & more. The trullo, its beautiful pool & its gardens are well kept, very clean & tidy. The grounds are well stocked with fruit & nut trees & a splendid herb garden for your culinary delights. Its location is fantastic, surrounded by gorgeous Italian countryside, minutes away from the beautiful trulli capital Alberobello, which has everything you need from supermarkets to rustic trulli shops selling exquisite hand-made linen & antiques. The fruit & veg market on Thursday’s is a must. Just outside the gates are country walks with the most beautiful scenery. The locals are very friendly & helpful as is the maintenance man Pasquale. Mille Gratzie Pasquale! We had the best time & felt very much at home & will definitely stay again. Thank you Alan & Carole, our wedding gift on our return home was a delightful surprise. Thanks again.

Trullo Patrizia is just the most incredible place. The whole of the property is an absolute delight and we had an amazing week there. We were a family with two young girls (aged 4 and aged 1) and this presented no issues. It is idylic and very quiet with just a farmer passing by on his tractor twice per day. It is also well located to explore the local area. The caretakers are helpful should you have any issues. Thank you Alan and Carole!

We had a late holiday (first two weeks in October) and were extremely lucky with the weather for the first week. The second week was cooler and we found the villa to be very cosy in the evenings with the central the heating on. The landscape and walks around the villa were very good with no occupied properties nearby. The pool was lovely and bigger than appeared in the photograph.

Absolutely superb: a beautiful property finished to a high standard. The photos dont quite do it justice (especially the pool, which is larger and deeper than we were expecting). We were a party of six adults and we were very comfortable. In less perfect weather we might have wished for a bit more living space, but as the sun shone for almost the whole week this was not an issue at all. The smallest bedroom is pretty small, and got very hot at night - but this was easily solved with an extra fan. Its located conveniently close to Alberobello, but far enough away that youre completely on your own (you will need a car). Alberobello itself is perhaps a little bit twee, but it comes to life at night and Locorotondo and Martina Franca are both splendid and within easy reach. Donatella, the property manager, was incredibly welcoming and friendly - we didnt need to contact her during the week, but Ive no doubt she would have been helpful if we had. The local ingredients are fantastic and the kitchen is well-equipped. We enjoyed cooking there so much that we only went out for dinner once. One final point: if you bring a sat-nav you will not regret it! The owners directions are extremely clear and accurate, but if you find yourself leaving Alberobello by a different road or approaching from another direction it would be easy to get confused by the twisty lanes. Overall, an extremely memorable and enjoyable week - many thanks!

Trullo Patrizia has been beautifully rennovated to a high standard with a great deal of care and attention being made to detail. It is in a lovely location where you can escape from it all and spend real quality time with your family. We were also very fortunate with the weather. As I did not know the area I was looking forward to the girls exploring the 5 acres of land. However, unfortunately the snake in the driveway eating a lizard put a stop to that! The pool was very well maintained and it was good to know that Donatella was on hand if required. Thanks again for a great holiday.

The Trullo is gorgeous. Beautifully restored and looked after. The area is very quiet and peaceful so if youre looking for a complete break this is the place for you. Alberobello is a good base to tour the area. The market is wonderful for fresh food and everybody was very friendly. Downside - the pool was absolutely freezing, so we couldnt use it and without cushions the sun loungers are very uncomfortable. One final point...DO NOT even rinse your mouth with the water. The owners need to ensure this is the first thing renters are made aware of. Leaving it to chance that they find it the page in the manual beforehand is not sensible. Ive been to many countires where tourists are warned not to drink the water, but it is ok to brush your teeth etc. It isnt in there.

Owner reply:
Many thanks for your review and kind comments.

As stated on the website, the pool is not heated and is normally closed in October, when you stayed.
If the weather is cool then the pool will be cool too!
But from May to September it is warm............
And we have now provided sun lounger cushions.

We send a letter to every guest with the key, stating that you should buy bottled water, pehaps you didnt read it?

However, the water provided in the property IS local drinking water and is safe, though we prefer not to drink it.
We use it for brushing teeth etc - perhaps you had a stomach bug from the journey?

We have rented many houses in recent years and have usually been reasonably satisfied. However I can honestly say that Trullo Patrizia is by far the best vacation property we have rented. After finding the place in the dark at two in the morning (that takes SatNav, average map skills and a lot of luck) the perfectly presented and squeaky clean villa is a wonderful reward. In the morning the panorama over the surrounding countryside is equally impressive from the sunny terrace as from the perfectly crafted infinity pool. The house is modest in size and lightly equipped compared to others we have occupied but we found the rooms with their vernacular form and construction perfect for our family of five. The lack of excessive kitchen stuff enabled us to concentrate on our holiday rather than grand dining. Local restaurants served the majority of our gastronomic needs. Villa Rentals allows us to rate the villa from one - five stars. Trullo Patrizia deserves six.

We were absolutely stunned by the exceptionally high standard of this beautiful conversion. Although 'trulli' are everywhere to be seen in this part of Puglia, Trullo Patrizia really stood out as a classy place to stay. The interior appointments were tastefully designed and of the highest quality - comfy beds, excellent kitchen, thoughtful media provision (take your iPod!) and great bathrooms. The pool is beautiful, especially when lit up at night, and the setting of the trullo in an olive grove is magnificently peaceful. We couldn't recommend this property more highly! Thanks Alan & Carol.

Four of us stayed at Trullo Patrizia in October 2007 for three days only & wished it could have been longer. This beautiful property has been sympathetically restored to, not only fit in with the surrounding environment but also be extremely comfortable. We did have some difficulty initially finding the trullo & decided it was probably not a good idea to try to approach it or leave by car at night as it is somewhat isolated. This meant we had some delightful long lunches in the surrounding countryside & stayed in at night. The trullo has a well equipped kitchen & so it was not difficult to make a light meal in the evening. Had it been warmer we would love to have availed ourselves of the beautiful pool. Trullo Patrizia really surpassed our expectations & we would recommend it to anyone.

> >When scoring the overall property rating please take into consideration the following: > >Was it good value for money? The property both myself and my wife thought was good value for money and offered very relaxing and homely comforts, with all we expected from our stay in Trulli Patrizia. The benefit of having a lovely swimming pool and fantastic facilities made our stay even more enjoyable. >Did it meet your expectations? The property was very good and did offer all we expected of our stay. The only negative aspects we felt of our stay were the outside area and the ability to relax and enjoy food outdoors. The lighting of the seating area was very poor and limited the ability to eat out in the evening under sufficient lighting to see the food we had prepared. The only other downside were the amount of flies at the property. We have been regular visitors to this part of Italy and never experienced the level of flies. A usefull addition would be to add a fly curtain across the front door to stop flies entering the property. At one point we had over 40 flies in our bedroom when trying to sleep. >Was the description accurate? The property, appearance and conversion of the trulli were all very good and made our stay very enjoyable. The provision of a swimmign pool allowed you to relax and cool down when the sun was at it most heated. >Would you recommend it to a friend? We would certainly recomend the property to freinds and family as a perfect place to stay and enoy the wonderfull sights, sounds and the Itria Valley. >Were you adequately looked after during your stay? Donatella was very helpfull when we needed her help when the lights in the main living area were not working. Her fantastoc english and promptness always made you feel that if you needed any help it was available.

Owner reply:
Thanks for your review!

We'll consider how we can provide more lighting, though no-one has mentioned it before. Most people use candles - very romantic!

We haven't had any complaints about flies and we have just returned recently ourselves, without any problems.
Trulli are designed to stay cool but you have to close the doors and windows!
There are two doors forming an "air lock" into the property and nets at all the windows, so no reason for flies to get in, unless you leave the doors all open at the same time!

Trulli Patrizia has been retsored with no expense spared. The result is a very high class property that offers very comfortable accommodation, the peace and quiet of the countryside and the luxury of a well-maintained private swimming pool. It's the perfect place to relax and unwind, The sun was hot, but the trulli was a cool and inviting escape when needed. It was also nicely furnished and equipped throughout. And, to cap it all, the property is only five minutes drive from Alberobello, the undisputed capital of the trulli region. It is also ideally situated with it's central location to explore the heel of Italy with ease. The owners were very helpful and their local managers also. You would find it hard to fault the whole experience.

Owner reply:

Trullo Patrizia is a wonderful property in which to unwind and relax. The house is beautifully restored and furnished - with great attention to architectural details and lighting. The rooms are comfortable and the bedrooms are spacious and well appointed with good bedding. The quiet, private location and the ambiance of the property make for a memorable stay. The location of the pool takes advantage of the surrounding countryside with the added bonus of being able to have an unobstructed view from the deep end. Not having it fenced allows the pool user to gaze endlessly over the wonderful, changing horizon. Everything about the Trullo is very well attended to - pool cleaning every several days, with a manager who is only a quick phone call away. Absolute peace and quiet , but with everything you need all within a few minutes drive. A beautiful place - calm and tranquillity restored.

Beautiful quiet location and property. The Trullo has been sympathetically restored and is in great condition loved it. Small caution, if you have small children the pool is not fenced. Thoroughly recommended

Very quiet rural farming area. Trullo recently renovated, beautifully, furnished to a high standard. In it,s own 4 acre setting. Good size pool. Pool too cold for a couple of oldies like us.70f most days in Sept. Would have like it heated. A car is essential to get to the nearest town Alberabello and elsewhere. It is essential that you follow the owners directions to the letter. It was dark when we arrived and we spent several hours trying to find the Trullo.

Owner reply:

The pool is normally perfect on hot days (up to 41C in Summer) so we have not put in any heating.

The Trullo was very pretty and the swimming pool was fantastic. The pools looks inviting, is well maintained and a good size. The remoteness of the property is great if you want to get away from it all but tricky in terms of having to drive everywhere, inviting friends over or getting lost luggage delivered! Our local friends were suprised at how spacious and modern the trullo was. Our two year old daughter was catered for with a cot and she enjoyed exploring the land around. The local contact is attentive, friendly and speaks perfect English.

Owner reply:
Thanks for the review. We don't think you can regard the property as remote - it is only 3 miles from the town of Alberobello. This is close enough for shopping and restaurants, but far enough to provide a quiet and private location. There are virtually no trullo properties with pools within walking distance of towns!

This is an excellent property. The quality of the restoration is extrenely high. The setting is gorgeous--sitting on the patio watching the sunset behind the olive trees, yet close enough to town and roads for easy day trips. The house is comfortably furnished. While the pool wasn't finished when we were there, it looks like it will be great for future renters. The house projects a feeling of tranquility.

Owner reply:
Thanks for a great first review!
The pool tiling took a little longer than planned due to bad weather this Spring, but it is now complete for future guests!
