There were 4 of us in the party in our holiday at Trullo Olivia, including my parents who have some issues with mobility. The trullo was everything we expected and there was plenty of space for 4 of us. We were lucky with the weather for mid-late September and therefore could spend time sitting by the pool, or dipping into it when we got a little hot, and dining outside. There is a genuine air of tranquility to the trullo and you can easily relax and doze off. Nearby Alberobello is exactly how it is described and you can potter around it for some time. There are some excellent places to eat nearby, including the Michelin * restaurant in Alberobello. The practicalities of booking, payment, arrival and departure were all very smooth and we would not hesitate to recommend the trullo to friends.

The Trullo itself is a lovely renovation, retaining many of the original features, the extensions perfectly complements the old part of the building whilst introducing a more modern feel. The location is ideal quiet, surrounded by olive groves and cherry trees, whilst being near to a number of beautiful towns for shopping or sightseeing. Having a 3 m deep pool is a welcome addition and the diving board provided hours of fun! The Trullos interior was decorated in a home from home style and although lovely, a little too cluttered. It is a subjective area so hard to judge, but suffice to say - it wasnt our home from home. Despite this, we had a really enjoyable stay - thank you to all who made it possible

The property is delightful and all of the arrangements went well. However, we were rather disappointed about one or two aspects. The toilet seat was broken, the standard of bedding was poor and in some areas it was not as clean as one would expect. Having said that we had a good holiday and are very refreshed.

Owner reply:
First I would like to thank Susan for bringing these problems to my attention.

Obviously the most important part of staying in a holiday home is that it is scrupulously clean. I have of course been in touch with our agent and insisted that in future the cleaning is checked prior to new guests arriving. Also the bedding and towels, which I buy here in the UK and take out myself are of a good quality so can withstand the rigours of an industrial laundry, this is all being checked and anything that is below standard will be discarded. The cracked toilet seat had been overlooked but has now been replaced.

I would like to assure you that we pride oursleves on maintaining our trullo to a very high standard.

trullo olivia was in the most beautiful setting and was maintained to a very high standard. The accommodation was exactly as described, the bedrooms and living rooms were furnished in traditional furniture which added to the feeling of staying somewhere special. the pool area and terraces were kept spotless with views that took your breath away. the srrounding area was waiting to be explored - and we did. i would definately recommend this to friends and family or anyone who wants peace and tranquility. very well done to Jan and Bob who have done an excellant job in keeping the Trullo traditional but still having the luxuries we take for granted.

Really nice property well equipped in a very quiet and tranquil location. Only minor reservation was the bedrooms were a little damp but this could be due to early season and some wet weather. Great overall.

You just might want to know that no-one contacted us after arrival. There was one phone call 2 days before departure from a lady called Alley wanting to know the exact departure time. Because of flight difficulties we had arrived at 9.30 pm, (advised by phone from our transit-stop in Rome), so it was already dark. Would have appreciated to have the drive way lights on and not only the pool lights. Furthermore it was rather challengeing to get the key out of the safety box, because there is no light in that niche and the digits are hardly readable that way. A torch or a fixed light in this niche would be very helpful. But we made it anyway and enjoyed our stay. You have a beautiful spot up there, malvelous garden. We were very lucky with the weather. Sorry, forgot to write into your Guestbook.

Owner reply:
We have been in touch with our agent in Italy and basically there was just a misunderstanding regarding the arrival time for which I am very sorry. However for any future guests information we will not be using the keysafe at Olivia and all guests will be met in Alberobello and accompanied to the property.

We really loved our weeks stay in Trullo Olivia. The booking process was simple and I spoke in great length with the owner beforehand on email and she was happy to answer all of my questions and was very helpful. We had trouble with the directions and took a wrong turn and got lost but the trullo is in a wonderfully secluded area, a short drive to the town of Alberobello, which is lovely. The trullo is equipped with everything - and more - than you could wish for. A kitchen with every dish, pan and utensil, guide books to hand, very useful guest book and games to keep the guests occupied. The pool, gazebo and bbq area are very lovely and Chris the pool man was very informative during his two visits to clean the pool. We asked him to recommend various places to see and eat. We visited two restaurants recommended by previous guests and absolutely loved them. We left glowing comments in the book and wholeheartedly recommend Trullo Oliva to friends. A wonderful holiday, thank you.

Hi Jan/Bob We had a great time again in Trullo Olivia, many thanks. I know that Noreen has filled you in with the fun and games and I have to say she was excellent. The Trullo itself is fabulous as is the location. I guess the bathroom in the original end could use some modernisation, but its not a massive issue. The outside space is magnificent and of course thats where you spend most of your time. Just one thought - perhaps extra security (internal bolted down safe/external cameras etc) may be an idea given current environment. We will definitely go back and have already recommeded to our firends. Many thanks and hope all well. Kym

The trullo has been restored very well, and provides excellent accomodation. It is well placed within the "Trullo Triangle" of Alberobello - Ostuni - Martina Franca, and most of the towns nearby are well worth a visit for the markets, restaurants and sights. Noreen was very helpful with suggestions to make our stay even better, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Its always a leap of faith trying to choose a holiday property by looking at photos online. I am please to saying that this property was a towering home-run! The photos do not do Trullo Olivia justice. This is a lovely property, very cosy and feels like a home rather than a rental. The area is secluded and quiet, but only minutes away from the town of Alberobello. Noreen, our point person was very helpful, and even contacted me on our day out to wish us happy and safe travels. We would return here in a heartbeat. Thank you again for a wonderful stay!

Nice environment, very clean andfuly equipped The only drawback i see are the high fees to use your online bocking tool. This should be included in the price

Owner reply:
Andreas is referring to the Rentalsystems 2.5% charge for paying by credit card. There is only a £3 fee for paying by debit card.

What a fantastic location, wonderful views - away from it all!! Having a swimming pool really made a huge difference as we could enjoy daysat home and have a swim after a day out. It just gave the property a cool feel. Loved being able to pick cherries and almonds - figs not quite ready but will be enjoyed by many in a few weeks time. Found the trullo well eqipped and homely - could have moved in for the summer!! Well done Jan and Bob!!

I can thoroughly recommend the Trullo Olivia. It had everything that we needed (fully stocked kitchen, sheets and towels) and more (games and DVDs). The guest books were particularly useful in helping us to plan our days out. Apulia is beautiful and the trullo was well placed to allow us to explore the area. A car is essential and a sat nav proved useful and very accurate. We were there in May and so the swimming pool was too cold to use, but it was nice to relax by. As the first guests of the year, the trullo also took a little while to warm through, but the heating system did its job well.

Lovely location and the trullo is beautiful. Everything was there that we needed. One comment I would make is that as it is so remote it is a bit unfortunate that you can see across to the next trullo and see people around the pool etc.

Owner reply:
We are a little surprised at the comment regarding the pool as the properties are around 75 yards apart and the pools are screened by olive trees.

A lovely characterful property with everything we needed. The internal layout with bedroom suites at separate ends of the villa suited our needs perfectly. The outside seating areas also increased the living space, with plenty of shade for those who prefer some shelter from the sun. The kitchen was very well equipped and the barbecue superb. The pool was very refreshing!

We had the most wonderful time. You have a wonderful property which has been beautifully restored. The attention to detail is perhaps the most impressive thing and everything was clean and fresh. The area is so peaceful we didn't want to leave.

We had a lovely holiday at Trullo Olivia, thank you. The trullo is fabulous - you must be very proud of it. It is actually better than we anticipated and it was really nice of you to leave the books, CD's, DVD's etc. for use of the guests. We watched a different DVD every night and enjoyed rediscovering The Who's music! Thanks for making us feel so welcome and your notes on where to go etc. were invaluable.

We all had a great holiday at your wonderful trullo. You have done a fantastic job renovating it to such a high standard. The pool was much enjoyed by all of us, weather was superb and it is in a beautiful position with lovely views. The local area is enchanting.

We had a wonderful holiday and the trullo was above expectations with everything that we needed.

We had a great holiday and loved Olivia. It is in such a beautiful setting and had everything we could have possibly needed (in contrast to Sardinia last year where I had to buy utensils so we could cook). I thoroughly enjoyed using the cookery books and the children even made pizza.
