Calabria is located at the southern most tip of Italy and therefore has a wonderful year round climate. With a coastline of over 800km there are plenty of white sandy beaches to choose from to soak up the sun.
The locals are friendly and welcoming and there are plenty of bars, trattoria`s and ristorante`s to sample the wonderful fresh local cuisine and vino rosso. Fish dishes are excellent in this region and it goes without saying the pasta and pizza`s are superb.
In the winter months there is skiing available at Gambarie in the Aspromonte national park and at Camigliatello in the Sila Grande mountains.
Calabria has plenty to offer if you wish to explore a little more with numerous towns/villages well worth a visit such as Roccella Jonica, Tropea, Scilla, Stilo and the regional capital Reggio Calabria not to mention also only being a 20 min ferry ride from Sicily.
