Kalamar Bay has its own shops, cafes and restaurants, internet cafe, Turkish baths,etc so if you dont feel like going into the busy town,you can easily relax for a few days locally There is a bus which is is farily frequent if you dont wish to walk both ways and circles town ..The are also good dolmus service to many towns and the beautiful Patara beach,so a car is not essential. The local town beach is very pretty and next to the lovely harbour. Kalkan has a traditional od town with cobbled streets and around 300 traditional roof top quality retaurants wiht views(amazing for its size. It also has a good amount of local crafts people from artists to jewellers and local potters and of course carpet sellers. There are local villages behind Kalkan and up in the mountains which are green even in summer and have pine forests and local markets, as well as the usual huge weekly, craft and food market where everyone does a weekly shop.
