Apartment Marina Sol

Apartment Marina Sol is a two bedroom, ground floor apartment within the Dom Manuel area, only three steps down to the private condominium pool, it is superbly situated on Lagos Marina, only a ten minute walk to Meia Praia beach. The restaurants and bars on the Marina quay side are a five minute stroll away and a further five minutes will take you across the opening bridge into Lagos town centre where there are many more shops, bars and restaurants to choose from. The Dolphin Seafari boats leave from the Marina quayside and boat trips out to Ponte da Piedade and the grottos and be arranged from there and from the riverside walk. The golf courses at Palmares and Boavista Golf Resort are within five to ten minutes drive and the courses at Penina to the east and Parque da Floresta Golf and Leisure Resort to the west are about 25 minutes drive away.

The apartments are built around a central garden area where there is a large swimming pool, a pool for children and extensive sun terracing with loungers. There is also a playground for children in the near vicinity. Lifts are available to the apartments and 24 hour security is provided. Pingo doce supermarket, which has a full range of all foodstuffs you might need, is less than 5 minutes walk from the apartment.

Apartment Marina Sol is well furnished and, being ground floor, has a terrace, which overlooks and has direct access to the pool area. The terrace has patio furniture for outside dining and, as the terrace faces more or less south, there is plenty of opportunity to relax in the sun. The kitchen is fully fitted and includes a full electric cooker, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, iron and board. The living/dining room is comfortably furnished with a three piece suite and satellite TV (limited channels – Sky News, BBC News and Eurosport). Patio doors lead from this room onto the terrace.

One of the bedrooms has a double bed and en suite bathroom with bath and shower over and the second bedroom has twin beds and the use of a separate shower room. Both bedrooms have large wardrobes with ample hanging space. The apartment has air conditioning throughout and provision of heating also makes it a suitable choice for a winter stay.

A health club is available at the Marina Club Suite Hotel just a short walk away, payable locally.

The cosmopolitan town of Lagos, which many believe to be the best on the Algarve, is on your doorstep. The Marina dominates the River Bensafrim as it opens into the sea and you can choose activities such as deep sea fishing, a dolphin seafari trip and yacht hire. Lagos is an historic town with some city walls still standing after the earthquake of 1755 and there are several museums and churches worth a visit. This is a working Portuguese town with markets, shops and plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from. The fabulous west coast beaches, where the surfing is renowned, are only 30 minutes drive away and the Monchique hills and the historic old capital of the Algarve, Silves, is an equal distance the other way. As Apartment Marina Sol is so centrally situated, a car is not essential for your holiday enjoyment but to gain an appreciation of just what the Western Algarve can offer, a car is recommended.
