The setting
In an ancient village high above the Taverone valley, a garden apartment set on a hillside with stupendous views, especially from the pool area. In the heart of the village, which boasts a shop, bar and excellent restaurant - all within 3 minutes walk.
The house
La Taverna is a very special small property sharing a pool with three other houses. Completely made of stone it seems as though it is carved out of the rock. The kitchen area in the main room has an ancient marble sink, though modern plumbing!
Set into a corner of the stone wall in the bedroom is a luxurious spa bath. There is also a bathroom with a spacious shower and a walk-in wardrobe.
The living room opens onto a beautiful walled courtyard with views over the valley to the hills beyond, while the bedroom has its own private garden. A few steps away is the large pool, also with wonderful views over the hills.
The area
La Taverna is set in a friendly village with a shop, bar and restaurant only a couple of minutes walk away.
Down in the valley below tumbles the lovely Taverone river. A short drive takes you into the Appenine mountains, with many lakes to enjoy. The Ligurian coast is about 40 minutes away, where you can take boats out to the Cinque Terre and Portofino. Pisa is only an hour away. Lunigiana is an ideal area for walking.
