A compact and bijou property offering all mod cons, and sports equipment for use on the complex. The well equipped kitchen, dishwasher and washing machine provide a hassle free holiday for those wishing to enjoy a quiet week away from the masses. The complex was almost deserted when we visited in early April.
The panoramic views from the bedrooms are stunning, looking north over the shore line it was lovely to enjoy a coffee on the balcony and watch the sun rise over the mountains. The living area faces south, and opens out onto a terrace towards the front of the property. We enjoyed a few BBQs out here in the evenings.
Villa Bocaina is in a remote location so a car is essential, if you wish to visit some of the remote beaches a 4x4 would be best, as some of the "roads" make for a bumpy ride. Lajares, a 5 minute car ride away provides a wealth of bars and cafes to enjoy as well as a well stocked supermarket. El Cotillo and Corralejo both around 15 minutes away provide excellent beaches, bars and shops.
Fuertaventua is a quiet island, sparsely populated and laid back, Villa Bocaina provided a great base from which to explore the island. We hope to return again soon.

April 2013
We have recently returned from a lovely holiday break in Feurtaventura, our first time to the island , escaping the winter cold of the U.K.
We certainly were not disappointed, the island although small ,is varied with plenty to do and see, especially if activities such as walking, cycling and surfing is your thing.
Our stay at Villa Bocaina near Majanicho was perfect.A complex out of the way, quiet and peaceful, yet only a short drive to the nearby town of Lajares, where restaurants, cafes, shops and an all essential supermarket , provided for all our needs.
Villa Bocaina was clean, tastefully furnished and finished, with the most amazing views. It was extremely well equipped both for essential living and recreation. There were tennis rackets , an amazing selec tion of DVD s books and games for all to enjoy. Nearby were tennis courts and a swimming pool.
If into surfing then the surf was easily checked each day with out even having to get out of bed. It was lovely to settle to sleep with the sounds of the surf pounding in the background.
In planning our holiday , the owners Malcolm and Julie were most helpful , even giving advice on the various hire car companies. To get to and from the villa , and general exploring of the island , a car is essential,
It was reassuring that during our stay , there was a contact number of a person living nearby to contact in case of emergency.
We had a welcome pack of essentials on our arrival , this was much appreciated as our arrival time was late in to the evening.
Depending on the wind, sun, direction there were various sitting out points to soak up the sun, situated around the villa.
The villa certainly contributed to making our holiday a relaxing and enjoyable one , away from the rat race of u.k living
We are already thinking about a return visit. Highly recommended villa.

Just back from a week here and cant wait to return. The villa is well equipped and in excellent condition. Located in a residential/holiday villa complex on the north coast near Majanichio, it is peaceful and felt completely secure (as a lone female, this was important). A lot of thought has gone into stocking the villa with outdoor equipment that may come in handy (snorkels, tennis rackets etc). The DVD library features a good range of films as an alternative to the local tv channels (which are not up to much).
Communal pool and tennis courts and an elevated viewing location within a few minutes walk of the front door - the view from here is great, especially at sunset.
The nearest town (5-10 mins) is Lajares, with a supermarket, pharmacy and a range of places to eat. Craft market on a Saturday morning is worth a visit. Youll need a hire car but driving around is easy - majority of roads are well sign posted. Approx 15-20 mins to El Cotillo to the west or Corralejo to the east - through great landscapes.
The beach to the north of the villa, less than 5 minutes along a dirt track from Majanichio, is awesome. Say yes to the damage waiver on the hire car well worth it for peace of mind as you go along some of the more bumpier dirt tracks.

Fabulous villa, clean, tidy and it had everything you could ask for including a hairdryer, DVDs, CDs and a dishwasher! It had a few items in the kitchen too like washing up liquid and olive oil for cooking. Malcolm & Julie have made a lovely job of ensuring there is a home from home atmosphere in the villa but you still know you are on holiday. You have to hire a car as the location is quite far from the nearest town, though the journey is good and you get to see the lovely goats on your way there! The villa is set in a complex, which has lots of other villas but not many were occupied in June. The complex is extremely quiet we had the pool to ourselves along with two tennis courts. Rackets and balls were in the villa for us to use and we played tennis every day! All in all, it is perfect if you want absolute peace and quiet and it was excellent value for money. Town was about 10-15 minutes drive away and the two main restaurants: Canela and Mana serve amazing dishes.

Nice apartment in the neighbourhood of Lajares.
Everything you need in the apartment was there so its a nice place to enjoy the rest of the Island.
The park itself is like a bungalow park, with swimming pools and tennis courts.
The fact that most villas were empty, made it a bit sad.

Villa was a perfect base to explore the island from and would recommend to any surfers looking for a great pad whilst on Fuerteventura! Car is a must for any travel into town but Lajares has everything you could need for supplies and eating out. Well be booking again next time I can get some time off work! Thank you Malcolm & Julie!

Lovely villa! Beautiful views. Well equipped and comfortable.
Suggested additions: broom to keep the sand at bay(!), and a carton of milk in the fridge for those arriving late with their own tea bags!

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Bocaina. The surrounding area is beautiful and the location gave us lots of opportunity to explore the local beaches which are endless! The villa itself was just what we were looking for, immaculate throughout and presented beautifully, it more than met our expectations. The views of the sea from the roof terrace were amazing and we could sit back and relax at the end of the day whilst listening to the rolling waves. Perfect.

A fantastic villa, fully equipped, with loads of useful information under the coffee table! This is a great location so that you can choose to drive to Corralejo or El Cotillo. The beaches on the way to El Cotillo are beautiful, the beach alongside the sand dunes in Corralejo is fantastic.
The choice of restaurants to eat is over whelming but one place we found in El Cotillo was perfect – El Vaca Azul – fresh fish etc, what a setting! All in all a great relaxing holiday and definitely somehere we would return. Thanks you for all the info leading up to our stay and we look forward to a return visit.

We came to Fuerteventura for our annual body board trip, having said that Villa Bocaina was the best place possilbe. The view from upstairs to The Bubble is incredible and made the morning surf check easy. The house is very well equipped and we specially enjoyed the DVD selec tion, watch The Long Way Round
The weather was great, endless summer feeling. Watch out for the rabbits when driving at night and if you got a flat tyre when rally driving there is a petrol station in La Oliva that will fix it for 8 euros! We highly recommend the U turn surfbar in the main road to Corralejo, very nice people and free wi fi.
Thank you, hope to come back! We left a DVD entitled “Marbella” - its full of rock, ska, punk and reggae if you like that sort of thing listen to it!

We all had a brilliant time. We loved how out of the way the place here is and the vibe. All good surf breaks a stones throw away. We suggest charging the outside reef and what we think is Suicidos just around the corner.
We also salute the tireless efforts of the security personelle- Salvador, 2 scoops and Georgeous George.
Cheers from Wiz, Johnny and Daniela.

We have had a fantastic holiday! Villa very comfortable- and yes, the view from up stairs towards Playa Blanca certainly has the wow factor! Look out for the enormous cruise ships that go past! One evening we brought a picnic of G&Ts and nibbles and went down to the beach just past Majanicho to watch the sunset- Amazing!
Weather was brilliant every day- and we swam at El Cotillo Lagoon beach every day.
Supermarket we liked best was the Hippo Dino in Corralejo- directions in the guide book. A restaurant is also in the guide book, El Roque des Pescadores at the new harbour in El Cotillo. The peace and quiet here is wonderful – pure bliss!!
Hope everybody who reads this has a fab time too! Adios and muchas gracias!

This is a second visit and again, it has been fantastic. The villa is excellent and so easy to lounge around in. Food in El Cotillo and Corralejo is great, especially the fish. We ventured further out this time and went to Pozo Negro. If you go there you can stop off at some ancient aboriginal settlements and look out for the chipmonks, whilst taking in the history! Then carry on down to Pozo Negro, park and then turn right on the beach and head to “Los – Pescadores”- beautiful fish.
Is definitely worth the trip. You can stop off at Caleta de Fuste on the way back for coffee!
Another fantastic holiday and if Fuerteventura had an international school – we would be looking for vacancies...
Thanks once again and Happy New Year,
Adam and Lee
PS definitely no dog this time, sorry Mandy, but saw lots of cats and a hedgehog!?

Wow! What can we say........this villa is awesome! It has everthing you need.
Windy day = books / DVDs / cards /
Sunny days = Sunbeds and surfing
Wet day = See windy day!
Seriously – we played tennis, we hung out, we borrowed an onion from the next door neighbours!
Ben, the eternal chef cooked each evening from your well equiped kitchen, we ate so well!!
Basically you provided the cement for the tiles for an amazing week away. England has been seeing lows of -15C this week and we have been experiencing highs of 29C in Fuerteventura.
Thank you so much for a wonderful week!
Best wishes
Jess and Benjamin!

What a fantastic week, we love the villa, as always (3rd visit) and the tranquillity of Origo Mare. No wind last week and a green flag at Flag beach – our first I think! Like swimming in a tropical fish tank, fantastic.
Other highlights, the shade of the zoo and all being kissed by a sea lion called Pam
Wikki bar for lunch, over looking the harbour, mind out for the bacardi measures! Wonderful holiday, thanks and will be back soon.

If you enjoy the sea and swimming you really must go snorkelling in the lagoons near El Cotillo, they are really fantastic and really worth the effort to see hundreds of colourful fish. Jacob 15.
Had a great time, really relaxed. Loved that we all went in the sea everyday, swimming & snorkelling or surfing. Lajares was as far as we went in the evenings – music in the surf bar and football in Pirates. A really quirky island.
I really enjoyed doing the volcano walk and seeing the chipmunks in the crater. I wish I could stay 3 more weeks. Florence 9.

The standard of the villa is first class. I would say the additional items within the villa (e.g. books, dvds, games, masks and snorkels, tennis rackets) all contribute towards making the experience very welcoming and providing no excuses for boredom!
Only caveat I think that is needed is that the position near Majanicho is very out of the way (car essential) so this is not the location if you want to be in the middle of it all. It is definately the location though if you want some serious piece and quiet and dont mind driving every day for amenities.
That said the location is almost bang in the middle of two great locations in El Cotillo and Corralejo and so promotes seeing more of the island than if you were in a hotal.

We found Villa Bocaina comfortable, welcoming, extremely well presented and equipped. Its location on the north coast and away from the more densely populated areas was ideal for us, providing a peaceful haven in dramatic surroundings, yet close to a friendly village offering all the facilities we could want and a lovely, unspoiled coastline with both sandy beaches and rockpools. We would certainly hope to make a return visit.

Just returned from the amazing complex and the beautiful Villa. It was so lovely and quiet, tennis every morning, that was of course after the freshley baked bread and coffee. Our two youngest thought it was a great adventure and loved it.(a bit quiet for the 16 year old).Went in the pool a few times the small paddling pool was like a warm bath ! The beaches were lovely and at the moment very quiet.
Watched the sunset from the back terrace which was beautiful.
Appartment very well equipped.Thanks

Villa Bocaina is a prefect place to spend holidays away from crowds and noisy hotels. Villa is very well equipped, whole development very well maintained, nice tennis court and swimming pool. Having morning coffee and watching Atlantic from upper terrace was amazing experience. Highly recommended for famiiies with children, beaches in El Cotillo or Coralejo are beautiful.
"La Cancela" in Lajares is a very good and unexpensive place to eat( great pizza), Vaca Azul- seafood restaurant in El Cotillo will satisfy every gourmand. We had a great time, hope to come back there one day. Thanks Malcolm and Julie.

The property and its location are exactly as described by the owner and if peacefullness is on anyone's list of requirements then this place is highly recommended. The villa is well equipped, decorated to a good standard, well set out and numerous items were provided by the owner for use during our stay. A hire car is essential and using it to travel out in the evenings provides the added bonus of the opportunity to see some spectacular scenery bathed in a backdrop of fabulous sun-sets.

We enjoyed our stay - having a washing machine and dishwasher made it very easy with a toddler.
Lots of info that was helpful to maek our stay enjoyable was under the coffee table.
The aprtment was very safe and the kids could play happily in the garden - shame the wind blew and blew!!
There is a tennis court, hard to play tennis against the wind and a swimming pool but the wind (in March) made it a little nippy to use.
Happily go again and really enjoyed visiting and enjoying the restuarantes in Lajares.
