Located in the heart of a region rich in history and boasting many UNESCO World Heritage sites, the medieval village of Clapiers lies on the edge of a pine forest, only a 10-minute drive from Montpellier historic center. A perfect base to explore the city and the Languedoc Roussillon area.
The beautiful beaches of Carnon, Palavas Les Flots and La Grande Motte are all within half an hour's drive.

PLACES TO VISIT:
Montpellier. 10 km. Bustling capital city of the Languedoc region and a delight to explore. The old university town has preserved much of its past, with narrow mediaeval streets, grand private houses, the Place Royale and its famous lively Place de la Comédie.
La Grande Motte. 30 km. One of the main seaside resorts of the Languedoc and boasting some of the best beaches in the region. The thriving summer seaside resort is characterised by its distinctive pyramidal buildings, inspired by the pyramids of Mexico.
Aigues Mortes. 40 km. Stunning medieval town with pretty much intact walls, sitting on the flat marshes of the Petite Camargue.
Nîmes. 55 km. On the border between Provence and Languedoc, the city boasts some of the most extensive Roman remains in Europe. Famous for its arena, the best preserved amphitheatre of the Roman era built under Emperor Augustus in the 1st century A.D.

Parc Zoologique Henri de Lunaret, Montpellier. 5 km. Animal park. Want to see animals of all kinds? Lions, monkeys, giraffes and more are all found here! 90 species and more than 500 animals. Come see the lemurs make their show in their cages, the bears wade into the pond and giraffes eat leaves. A great family day out.
Aquarium Mare Nostrum, Montpellier. 10 km. Educational, scientific and fun, this aquarium offers a fabulous journey... you will discover the Mediterranean Sea. Camargue. 60 km. Natural Park, around the Rhone Delta, home to bulls, wild white horses, flamingoes and with an exceptionally rich wild life. Best discovered slowly, on foot, on horseback, on a bicycle or in a boat. Bordered by 60 km of fine sand beaches, the Camargue is popular with sunbathers.
Les Saintes Maries de la Mer. 70 km. In the heart of Camargue's Parc Naturel, surrounded by immense plains filled with ponds and wild lands. Traditionally the meeting place for the gypsy people whose rich folklore and music attract many visitors all throughout the year.
Arles. 80 km. Vibrant city of festivals, art and culture, with extraordinarily well-preserved Roman arena (the very same that was the scene of the Roman games in the 1st century!), backed by an equally impressive variety of other stones and monuments, both Roman and medieval. Linked with Gaugain, Van Gogh and Picasso.
Avignon. 95 km City of history and city of theatre, the fortified city of Avignon marked by papal history will charm you with its ancient streets, spectacular monuments and museums and impressive number of cafes and restaurants. Its famous bridge still stands over the Rhone river.
