Orebic is an old marritime town known for its rich history (during the time of the Dubrovnik Republic it was one of the main summer residentials of its aristocrats), great nature (highly clean sea water) and many small bays as well as big beaches. It is also known for its Dalmatian specialities (Mediterranean cuisine) as well as wine and olive oil culture (the Peljesac Peninsula is one of the Croatian best wine regions: Dingac, Plavac Mali).
Well known sport activities: wind-surfing and kiting (European regata championship was held in Viganj/Peljesac Channel, 3km from Orebic; wind/kite-surfing schools available), diving (schools), hiking (St. Ilija hill, peak 961m), sightseeing (Franciscan Monastery from the 16th c. situated 150m above the sea level is known to be one of the best European panoramic views; archeological site Nakovana dates from the B. C. times) and all other water related sports (fishing, sailing, ...).
Orebic is greatly positioned: 1.5h drive to Dubrovnik, 5 mins. by ferry to the Island of Korcula (Old Town), 50mins. by ferry to the National Park Mljet.
