Myself and the girlfriend stayed in these apartments we could easily have had at least another couple with us and would have been more than comfortable. Modern spacious well fitted out, good location. Could not recommend them highly enough so much so that we may go back next year

The apartment was clean, spacious and well maintained. As usual a lovely area for a weeks holiday. Restaurants very good. The only thing the apartment could do with, and this is only a minor observation is a microwave and a couple of more pans. Lovely place and we will going back again.

My wife and I returned from holiday in mid September of 2009 having enjoyed one of the most relaxing holidays we have ever had . We had previously pre booked a hire car for our stay as the airport was about 30 minutes away . However on arrival at the airport we decided not to take the car and got a taxi which cost 55 Euros ! . There are cheaper taxis available we found out from the locals and one which we would highly recommend and would have used a lot more if we wanted to venture away from the resort of Cabanas . Call John a very helpful and informative Irishman who told us a lot on our return journey to the airport which only cost 40 Euros by the way ! so please use him as he is great , his number is (00351)964 153 361 , or 965 321 591 , or his email address is mcdyre@gmail.com
The apartment we had was easily big enough for 4 , and the fact it had a BBQ on the balcony meant you could spend nights in drinking the local wines and eating the local food bought from the local market which is open everyday except Sunday to buy your fresh fish and meat to eat on your own BBQ whilst watching the sun go down over your balcony , very relaxing . The balcony at the back of the property looks over the pool and has the sun on it in the morning until about 3.00pm then you get the early evening sun on the front balcony . The location of the apartment means you can take a 5 minute stroll to the main area of bars and restuarants a 5 minute walk to the local supermarket , or a 5 minute walk to catch the small boat over to the beach . If you prefer the pool to sunbathe around then take a li-lo as there are no sun beds to use . The owners of these apartments seem to store them in their apartments when they are not there . This may change in time and the owner of this apartment may now provide sunbeds for you to use .
My wife and I went to the beach every day , which is accessable via a small boat which was 1.60 Euros each return . Once on the beach you walk over a wooden walkway onto the beach . Turning left takes you to the rafia parasols with sunbeds costing either 14 Euros for the 2 beds or 12 Euros if you want ones just behind the sea front ones . Turning right you can set up with your own towels and parasols for free .
Eating and drinking out is just fantastic , take a walk just behing the main " front " of restaurants and bars and you will find some really authentic bars that all the locals go to . Some restaurants we would recommend are Pedros and The Europa restaurant , but all are really nice and just enjoy the ambience of the night and the authentic feel of Portugal . If you want a more lively drink then there is an Irish bar called Esmereldas where you can eat and drink until the early hours . However there are plenty of other more quieter bars should you wish to just relax over a bottle of wine and listen to locals doing exactly the same . All in all a thoroughly relaxing holiday , suplimented by a superb apartment and location . Tavira is worth a trip although apart from going to the large Supermarket there we did not venture into it . If you do decide to go , use the taxi firm we mentioned earlier as it is only a 5 - 10 minute drive away and will cost you about 5 Euros .
We would definately go back to this apartment which was spotlessly clean with air conditioning which we were very pleased of . The destination of Cabanas and Tavira is used by the Portugese, which you can understand after experiencing it . Highly recommended and we will be booking again for next year . Enjoy ! .
