We booked this property at the last minute due to our existing accommodation being unsuitable. Within an hour of booking I had received an email from the owner, providing their contact details and sorting arrangements for our arrival. Maria the housekeeper had the house ready for us within a few hours of the last guests leaving. The house was very clean and tidy and she made sure that we had everything we needed.
The house itself is in a lovely location set between the Albufeira strip and the old town, both of which are within 10 - 15 mins walk. Although the house is off the main road it has a private driveway with lockable gates and the road was not busy enough to really take much notice. The pool and garden area are secluded and very well kept and the outdoor patio area was excellent for enjoying some al fresco eating. The beach is 5 minutes walk away and there are a selec tion of bars and cafes en route.
The house is well stocked with accessories and the kitchen area was more than adequate for anyone wanting to do self catering.
We would definitely stay there again !

The accommodation was fantastic and suited us as a family of 5 perfectly. The villa was really lovely, well kept and very clean. The pool and garden area also were ideal for our holiday. The location of the Villa was in a lovely spot and all the amenities were within walking distance. Gorgeous views of the sea. We didnt have any late night noise which is ideal when you are away on holiday with your children. Everything was very home from home which was what we were looking for when we booked to stay at Surina and that is what we found when we arrived. All in all excellent accommodation.

As a group of 7 friends on holiday, we had a fantastic time staying at the villa. It had just the right amount of cosiness and had everything we could want. Even the little touches like a large amount of glasses so we didnt have to keep washing up (although there was a dishwasher as well). The pool was much larger than we expected and much deeper. The garden was enclosed so noone from the road could see in. The housekeeper, Maria, was lovely and we managed to communicate even without a common language! She even sung me happy birthday when she arrived and saw me opening presents. Was a fantastic stay, very close to everything. The owner was very helpful and even recommended a restaurant- it was very good! We intend on going back next year!!!"

The Villa was very clean and well equiped with all you could need, it also had a good collection of DVDd which kept the children happy after they tired with the large pool and great outdoor area. It was well positioned only ten minutes in either direction to the Old Town or the Strip and a couple of minutes to the beach. The restaurant across the road was excellent and also does take away. The upstairs bedrooms have a sea view and there are plenty of seats inside and out. All in all it is a wonderful villa and we will certainly be visiting it again."

"Das Haus war sehr sauber, der Garten und der große Swimmingpool sehr gepflegt.Die Küche ist optimal ausgestattet. Casa Surina liegt an der Strasse, allerdings sind alle Schlafzimmer zum Garten ausgerichtet,so das man gut schlafen kann. Der Balkon an den Schlafzimmern im 1 Stock bitet einen wunderbaren Blick auf das Meer. Das Meer erreicht man in wenigen Minuten. "

Casa Surina was very nice. Location perfect. 5 min walk to the Strip, old Albufeira and the beach. The pool super. Sometimes a man came to clean the pool. Maria, the housemaid, a lovely woman. When we asked she come and clean the house. We were with 6 adults, each couple a bedroom. Kitchen everything there. We almost live 10 days outside, the weather was very good, the garden great, bbq oke in the garden. Breakfast every morning on the great table under the veranda. We ended the day with vinos under the veranda. The restaurant over the road very good and nice people. The owner helped us with the bbq. We had some problems but when we called Teresa, the owner in Lissabon, she helps us immidiately. Overall: we had a fantastic time in a nice house in Portuguese style/ambiance."

Overall we were very happy with our stay at Casa Surina.
The location was ideal for the Strip, Old Town and Beach with some restaurants and bars only a minute or two away.
The maid and gardener looked after things well, although the barbeque area was a bit messy (not that we used it).
The pool was fine but quite deep with a steep slope after the steps. It would be an idea to mark the depth on the side of the pool so that visitors were aware before entering.
We would have no problem returning to Casa Surina.

This was our second visit to Casa Surina, visiting previously a year ago. The villa and surroundings were the same as the year before and well maintained. The weather for the two weeks was excellent being a steady 28c or 29c, and about 21c overnight which was quite nice to sleep in. The faulty DVD player from last year had been replaced and the swimming pool appeared warmer, but I think its was as last years weather was cooler. The sea was also rather warm. Overall an excellent stay.

The villa and pool were superb and was everything it stated on the site.
The two disappointments were :
The barbecue was rusty and dirty so we werent able to use it.
We never knew when the maid was coming in and in the first week we didnt see her for four days!! As you can imagine with four adults and two babies in nappies we had a fair amount of rubbish and ended up having to dispose of this ourselves!! Not what we expected. Also we didnt know when the bedding or towels were going to be changed as there was nothing in the villa to tell us. It would have been helpful if a notice is put up saying when the maid is coming in and when the bedding/towels are changed.
Apart from these items we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Owner reply:
Hi Pam, Thank you for your review.
About your coments i have to say:
The barbecue is cleaned everytime it´s used and has a big cleanning on the end of each booking, every year i leave at CASA SURINA new iron utensils, so it´s stange that you found them rusty.
On your stay - from 6/6/2009 to 20/6/2009, there where 2 portuguese hollidays - 10/6 and 11/6, that is wy you didn´t see Maria for four days in that week- the 2 hollidays and the weekend - like all normal workers she has the right to rest at weekends and hollidays.
Maria goes to CASA SURINA every week day, depending on the guests wishes she goes in the morning or in the afternoon, you choose! The bedding and towels are changed every week, as usual. I live in Lisbon, but all guests have my mobil phone number wich is conected 24 hours a day, if you had any questions or comments you could always call me.
Hope to see you again. Regards Teresa

The villa is in the perfect location as its right in the middle between the Old Town and The Strip. The old town is 15 minutes away (continental bars/restaurants), you can use the new outdoor escalator to reach the streets below (great idea)! The Strip is only 10 minutes away (more British type pub/bars etc). Its 3 minutes to the beach which is really nice and around the corner there are some bars/restaurants and a mini market.
There are 3 bedrooms a twin downstairs and a double and another twin upstairs. (A fold down bed is there but we didn’t need it). All the bedrooms were great and have large new fans if required (going late September I didn’t use them). There are sea views from the balcony, very nice to wake up to.
The kitchen was great with all mod cons, the living/dinning room was nice to with ASTRA Satellite TV. One problem was the DVD player didn’t work but that’s not really important.
The garden/pool area was fantastic. The pool is quite deep, which wasn’t helped by a big storm we had that added 11 inches to the pool (very rare they get that much rain - it was on the news!) The total depth in the pool was about 9 feet, which did make the pool a bit cold, but again it was late September so that’s to be expected. There is a big BBQ, 3 outdoor tables and a hammock. There’s private parking for your car and room for 2 cars if you need them.
We all had a fantastic time and it was VERY enjoyable. The Maid, Maria is very nice too, we have never had a maid before when staying at a Villa and she did a great job. I couldn’t understand a word Maria was saying but then, it would only be British arrogance to suggest everyone should speak English!

Casa Surina was a lovely base for our holiday in Albufiera as it is centrally located between the old town and the Strip - both are within walking distance. The outside seating areas, garden and barbecue are excellent, making a lovely setting for family meals. The kitchen is very well equipped - plenty of crockery, cutlery etc which meant we could make full use of the dishwasher! And if you dont feel like cooking or walking the restaurant over the road was a very pleasant place to eat. The villa is also cleaned every day if you require it. There is a good selec tion of DVDs for all ages and a number of books. Although the pool is very deep we made sure the five year old in our party wore his swim vest whenever he was outside so it didnt cause us a problem. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Surina and would certainly recommend it.

Very pleased with the villa, well situated no real need for a car lovely enclosed pool and garden area.Could do with some more fans perhaps in the bedrooms,we didnt insult the maid maria with our poor portugese her english was great.A little concerned that the gardener/pool man can wander in at any time due to unlockable pool gate and front gate.We all had a great holiday great villa, great place just hope the new villa that is being built at the back is finished by next year as we all plan to come back.

Excellent location as stated in previous reviews,it did everything it said on the tin,Maria the maid is good, her english is getting better. Definately need some fans in bedrooms has it can be quite hot at night. There is good DVD collection if you get bored with the pool!!!! Be wary of the pool if you are a none or poor swimmer it is quite deep probably could do with some ladders at deep end. Overall a excellent villa excellent location (you don't really need a car) excellent weather and excellent country. We will be back

This has been one of the best holidays yet!!!!!!!
The villas was lovely and spacious, and was very clean - even the BBQ, which I might add was cleaned by Maria our maid on the day of our departure.
The garden was lovely for the kids, they even enjoyed the hammock as was the swimming pool. It was not too far from the Old Town or the strip, but far away enough that you did not get the noise from the bars/clubs etc. Maria was lovely and came in most days, and the gardener and pool man also appeared. I will definately be booking for next year, and have also recommended it already to friends - as well as a lady in Portugal who asked where we rented the villa from, as she had been asked about the property.

The property is in the ideal location situated between the Old Town (Oura) and Albufeira (The Strip), both of which are a 15 minute walk away. It is also a 2min walk to the nearest beach. There are 3 wonderful bedrooms (the one downstairs isn't as nice as the other two but it's pleasant enough) and two bathrooms and this was ample room for 6 of us (3 couples). Outside is the swimming pool which is slightly larger than we had expected- it's nice and private too! There is a large bbq area and an outside wood burner. The kitchen is fully equipt with dishwashwer, washing machine, cooker, juicer etc..All in all a fantastic property for the money (we paid £1019 between 6 of us for a week in July). The only downsides were that it was very hot at night which sometimes made it difficult to sleep. Also, if you don't shut the door on the dishwasher or the washing machine properly they may leak. Oh and you will get three visitors: The gardner who comes a couple of times a week, the Pool Man who comes to clean the pool and the Maid who comes about 3 times a week.

The property provided excellent accommodation for 4 Adults and 2 teenagers. The rooms were good sizes and light and airy - as always the beds could have been more comfortable and better and more pillows would have been nice. The living area was spacious and comfortable with a bed settee - which did get used by the other couple when the snoring got too much. The kitchen was really well equipped with plenty of crockery. cutlery, serving dishes and cooking utensils - the sharp knives were even sharp! Outside the pool was lovely - but be warned it's very deep and doesn't really have a shallow end - fine for us but watch out with very little ones or non swimmers. The garden is lovely and well established. The BBQ was OK but (as always) needed a good clean before use. The location was pretty good - a 10 min walk to the Strip and a taxi ride to the old town. Maria our maid was really friendly and helpful and came in most days. Would definitely book again in future and have been to this area many times.
Owner reply:
First of all, thank you very much for making the first review for SURINA!
We are glad that you enjoy your stay and have the intention to come back.
About the pillows we took care of your desire and there are already more available.
The cleaning of the BBQ is going to have an extra attention in the future, but because it is outside, its always more difficult to keep it perfectly cleaned.
Concerning the pool, it’s true that is large and deep - 2.5 meters in the deepest part - and that it doesn’t have a shallow end. But the steps are large and mainly the first one, is very good for small children to play in... I have four! :-)
Hope to hear from you again!
