We had a great vacation in the Villa S. Stefano! We rented the house for two weeks in June 2012 for a family of nine people - all adults from ages 29 to 68. The house has an authentic and rustic Tuscan feel that created a great setting for our family vacation. The property is in a beautiful location with great views, near Chiusi and surrounded by working farms. The pool was great to dip into after a long day of walking. In addition to the pool, the property has a charcoal grill and is surrounded by fruit trees and herbs - we made a delicious cherry cobbler and cherry jam with the sour cherries. We particular enjoyed the veranda and had most of our meals outside. The owner was very responsive to questions prior to arrival and during our stay. The location near Chiusi gave us the opportunity to explore many of the Tuscan hill towns - Montepulciano, Montecino, Pienza, Assisi, Cortona, and Chiusi itself - as well as go further afield. Chiusi has a rail station with direct connections to Siena, Florence, Rome, and Bologna, and some of our group took advantage of each of these possibilities. Although the property is very close to the rail station, a car is definitely required to go back and forth to the train station, stock up on groceries, and visit towns without easy rail connections. For our group of nine, we had two cars. Chiusi itself is small and charming - we visited the Etruscan museum and walked through the town. We definitely recommend La Solita Zuppa in Chiusi for a memorable meal. All in all, a highly recommended location for your Tuscan vacation!

My family planned a week in Tuscany last September as part of a two week Italian vacation. As there were 9 of us in total we chose to stay at Villa S. Stefano as it seemed an appropriate size to hold all of us. The description of the property doesnt even come close to what we experienced at the actual property. The views from the property were breathtaking and waking up every day to enjoy an espresso in the garden was only the beginning of our wonderful stay. The photos are an accurate description of both the property and the location. The villa was fully furnished, very well maintained and spotless. The train station was a close drive away and we took advantage of many day trips from Chiusi to Florence and Sienna. The nearby towns of Montepulciano Salchetto and Orietto also gave us an opportunity to experience the "true Tuscan lifestyle. The town of Chiusi itself was charming and we enjoyed many a gelato there after cooking a delicious dinner in the villa. The owners were generous in their offer of tasting the figs and grapes on the property and we took advantage of the many herbs in the garden for our dinners. We cant wait to plan our next vacation back to this picture perfect villa and all 9 of us still speak fondly of our time at Villa S. Stefano. We all highly recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a relaxing yet convenient destination to truly enjoy la bella Italia!
