The owners went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible, meeting us on arrival with cold beer/wine and providing some basic groceries and fresh veg from their own garden, as well as excellent advice and information on how best to explore the area. The accommodation is full of character, and is fitted and decorated to a good quality standard. It was spotlessly clean on our arrival. We stayed 3 nights in October 2011, paying just £125 which I considered to be outstanding value for money. It makes a perfect base to explore the local area.

Location is perfect if you want to be in heart of Spain, house-owners are nice and generous, we were as in our own house thanks to them. I will definetly recomend it to all who want to know what Spain is about!

So many good reviews have gone before it is difficult to find something new to add. I would describe Fran & Mike as the perfect hosts. The property is very comfortable. The food in the area is wonderful, especially the local pork which is a must try. The scenery is outstanding. The weather is warm. There is some splendid wildlife and lovely walks. I guess you could say what more do you want. Clearly not for those who want partying and nightlife. But if you like good, healthy living and the outdoors this is superb. This is a part of Spain that the tourists seldom see and is described as the real Spain. So different to the vision of crowded beaches and drunken louts. So refreshing to see such contented and friendly people who stick to their traditional values. If you want to understand Spain this is a good place to be and Fran & Mike will help a lot to increase your understanding. In summary I had a wonderful time and have already booked to go again.

The people of the village and the surrounding area were warm and friendly during our visit. The owners of the villa were as well! The villa is quiet, relaxing and very clean. The location is idyllic yet offered plenty to see and explore. The long walks on the beautiful senderos were especially charming. Highly recommended for those who are wary of "touristy" spots :)

This was exactly what we were looking for. A chance to discover "real" Spain, not somewhere where everything is the same as at home but the sun shines. The actual property was larger than it appears in the photos and the quality of the equipment was great. The hosts (Fran and Mike) were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much bother. The Spanish lessons were a big help The village is great, you will receive a wonderful welcome from the locals, especially if you try to speak Spanish. Walking around the national park you can go through the whole day and only meet one or two people. If you want nightclubs, John Smiths, Fosters, and a fast pace of life this is not the location for you.

Set in a beatiful, unspoilt village, the house is very well equipped and finished to a high standard. Easy to get to from Seville, all you need can be found in the village. Mike and Fran - the owners - make you feel more like you are staying with old friends, and their knowledge of the area and people is invaluable and freely given. We will definitely return!

We enjoyed our stay at Evaristo Perez very much. The apartment was very comfortable and spacious. We loved the surroundings and the people in the village were absolutely nice to us. Last but not least, the owners of the property, Fran and Mike did make us feel at home from the instant we arrived. Definitely a place to come back to.

The Aracena region is a really beautiful part of Spain, and no.12 is a little gem within it. Mike and Fran are the perfect hosts - not at all intrusive, but there when you want something and really make you feel as if you've known them and their Spanish friends for years. So, thankyou Fran and Mike for a lovely week - see you again next year. Cheers. Kate and Graham wit a slight delay from March 2007:-)

We couldn't have asked for a nicer holiday. Not only was this place a piece of heaven but our hosts Fran and Mike were wonderful! If you have been lucky enough to come across this property, book it now, you'll have an amazing time and will discover a beautiful place that you can return to time and time again.

Very nice, clean, well presented, spacious and excellent value for money. Particularly good: great location in a rural part of the country, proper Spain! Fantastic hosts - exceptionally helpful and welcoming yet not intrusive. Not so great: on a town street, so sometimes a bit noisy; it's pretty high up, so when the nights are clear in winter it gets cold - well below freezing! Must be fantastic (i.e. spared the excessive heat) in summer!

The property was excellent value for money.Fran & Mike have thought of everything you would possibly want in a self catering property down to the very last detail. We felt we were treated more like friends than clients, given good information about the area taken on walks, social evenings within the villageand the wonderful barbeque you held for us to finish our holiday week off, all this sums up what very kind& generous couple Fran & Mike are,we will certainly return especially to see Scoobs Fats & co!

Our stay at Evaristo Perez was part of a driving tour which took in stays in Granada, Seville and the Algarve. A hectic and wonderful time, but this part of the holiday was specifically designed to chill out - relax, read, catch the sun and do very little. Evaristo Perez was just right - we became reclusive and it was wonderful! Fran and Mike were perfect hosts - always concerned that everything was ok, always helpful and never intrusive. When we did venture out, we used the base to visit Cordoba and Jerez, plus the immediate countryside and the house was the perfect place to return. We would unreservedly recommend this property and hope one day that we might return.

Fran & Mike (the owners) were GREAT. (Sorry guys that this took so long to write - Sue's fault). It was everything we wanted, peace, quite, great comfort, no other English speakers, fantastic location and all capped off with great company. We miss Scooby Doo - the greatest dog in the world (we took him for a walk every night through the olive groves and finished off with a long cool beer at the bar on the entry to the village - forgot its name), fats - the fattest, laziest cat in the world and the others we also miss. Fran and Mike took us and introduced us to the locals in the main bar on the first night and finished our week with a barbecue (top stuff mike). The Sierra is a must see in your life time, and this is IDEAL to set off from. We highly recommend and hope to get back. Ah well Fran, back to the football.............

We were fortunate to spend all of February in Evaristo Perez. All aspects greatly exceeded our expectations. The property was much more spacious than we thought from the web site and absolutely everything we could want had been provided. The welcome basket was especially appreciated after a long journey.Fran and Mike, our Hosts, were very special people and always available to ensure that we got the most from the very friendly village and the amazing range of entrancing walks. Many thanks to them.We would love to return at some stage.

We had a fantastic week at Evaristo Perez. The house exceeded our expectations and Fran and Mike were fantastic, friendly and really helpful. They provided us with loads of information about the local area and activities both before we arrived and during our stay. As a result we managed to go hiking and horseriding. We also managed several trips to the nearby lake and a day at the coast. In addition their tips for food in the local village were great! This is a beautiful, undiscovered bit of Spain and we'd definetly visit again.

Old property re-designed to be modern, spacious and airy but still retaining the charm of its original features. Very well equipped, including access to books and DVDs. Totally private, yet within the village. Friendly owners who will give you any help you need. Excellent tapas served by several bars in the village. Wonderful walking in the immediate vicinity and around Aracena.

Had a great time, the description of the property did not do it justice. The little extras really made it for us, the welcome basket, the dvds, the books and the charming terraced area and BBQ were used almost nightly. Will definitely come again.
