I should have made clear in my previous review that Villa Los Olivos certainly is a good value for money. It is priced lower than villas of comparable size and quality in the coastal towns. So, the issues of distance, access road, etc. are offset by a good price ... plus the other appealing features I mentioned in the previous review: especially the stunning location and views (extending to Africa on a reasonably clear daysee photo).

The follow-up questions sent to me by Villarenters.comintended to prompt a reviewincluded "Was the description accurate?" Unfortunately, the answer in this case is "no." One: the description claims air conditioning, but in fact there is air conditioning only in the bedrooms, NOT in the living areas of the villa. And two of the four wall-mounted bedroom air conditioners were malfunctioning during our stay and were not repaired despite a call from us on the first day. Two: the driving times to nearby cities listed in the property description are half the actual times required. Even when driving well above posted speed limits and taking the toll roads, it is 25 minutes to the nearest beach, 60 minutes to Marbella, 90 minutes to Malaga, etc. I know because I made all of these drives during our stay. This villa is within striking distance of many places but close to nothing except Casares. Three: the description says that the access road to the property is "rocky." That is the least of its challenges! The drive is a long, steep, barely one-car dirt/stone track with dogs, cats, goats, pedestrians, and other drivers along the way. For those not used to such tracks, it is deeply frightening under any conditions. And as the driver of a 9-passenger van arriving back one evening after dark, I listened to sobs and prayers coming from the people (and not just the children!) behind me in vehicle. The property description does renters no favors by downplaying the true nature of the access road. You would be safest and best served here with a compact 4-wheel-drive vehicle. The villa itself is comfortable with a nice pool area, and has truly spectacular views. It strikes me as best suited to renters intending to spend the bulk of their time relaxing at the property, focusing on the nearby village of Casares, or doing long day trips.

We booked this villa last year for a joint 40th & 50th Birthday this May bank holiday (we are a group of work collegues and werent flexible on dates) . We were let down very badly buy the owner who cancelled our booking to fill it for what she described as a two week booking, she then blamed the villa rental systems for a double booking even though it took her 6 months after our booking time to let us know. We have since discovered our booking was bumped for a 5 day booking (two days longer than what we requested). So with flights and transfers booked we were then left to pay a fortune at the last minitue for another villa. To say we were left dissapointed is an understatement and would not reccommend this villa or the villa rental website to anyone.

We spend 10 days at the villa and had a wonderful time. We received all the help we needed from the owners before, on and after our stay. The house was very well equipped, clean and the whole family ( 3 teenagers and their parents) enjoy the pool and the quietness. We relaxed but did also a lot of sightseeing in the area. We would definitely recommend this house without any reservation

Los Olivos is set on the hillside above the town of Caseres and the villa has stunning views of the mountains and the coastline can be seen in the distance. Whilst it was very hot and sunny during our stay, the height means that there us always a breeze, which makes the heat bearable. Air conditioning in the bedrooms makes for pleasant sleeping conditions. The mountain track to the villa is steep, but can be negotiated in safety with careful driving.
The owners Olga & Alex made us very welcome and we all enjoyed our stay at Villa Los Olivos, with the children spending most the time in the excellent pool.
Good food shops are at Estepona, some kilometres away on the coast, and it is therefore wise to stock up well on each trip.

The photos of the property do not do it justice. Los Olivos is a truly magnificent villa in the most delightful position. Very secluded and private, although the track to reach it is rather a challenging drive.
We were met on ariival and the house was spotlessly clean and welcoming as was the pool. There is really very little that I would change- perhaps a dishwasher would be nice!
If you want somewhere private and quiet thats off the beaten track this is the place.

Daria, the owner was excellent in helping us before we got to the villa and her mother guided us to it when we arrived in the village. The villa was lovely and had everything we (a family of 5) could have asked for. It had fabulous views and was very peaceful, ideal for a get away from it all break, but it was close enough to the main coast road to get to the main towns/beaches/attractions quickly.
The only downside was the track leading up to the villa which was very tricky to negotiate for our little hire car, but I sure anyone with a more powerful one or a 4*4 and a head for heights would have no problem.
It was a great holiday for us.

The property is located in a beautiful and extremely peaceful setting. Nicely positioned at the top of a valley, it is completely isolated from other properties, and is surrounded by stunning countryside, with views all the way down to the sea. It is located in a great place with the whole of Andalucia, the Costa del Sol and even Morroco easily accesible.
The villa itself is much bigger and grander than it appears on the photos, and has been decorated with great taste and detail. It is modern but still retains the look of a traditional spanish villa.
This villa is ideal for a group of people or a family.
The owner of the property was really kind and she tried hard to ensure that our holiday was as comfrotable as possible. I look forward to renting it out again.
