You will fall in love with the Bay of Mazarron with its superb beaches and coastline and in particular the fishing village of La Azohia, in this relaxed quiet corner of Spain. The area is ideal for relaxing and enjoying the local bars and for walks along the coast and into the mountains behind. Divers are also well catered for with 3 local dive centres. The area claims no less than 300 days of sunshine a year providing an ideal location year round.

Casa Paulina is uniquely located on the El Pinar de San Gines complex with stunning views from the windows and the roof terrace over the gardens, the bay of Mazarron and the surrounding mountains, You will never tire of looking over the bay which stretches from the pirate lookout of St Helena’s tower on the cliffs to the left to the bright lights of Puerto de Mazarron on the right.

On entering the first floor apartment you pass through the well equipped kitchen to the dinning area, furnished with an extending table and four chairs. The lounge is tastefully appointed with a large sofa and leather swivel chair to provide seating for four. A 22" flat screen television is provided with Spanish and English freesat along with an Hi,Fi system with CD and Radio, games, books, maps, and CD,s. There are 2 large ceiling fans for your comfort on hot days. There is an information pack covering local information, time tables, history, local walks and what to do etc.

Off the lounge are two twin bedded bedrooms each with an en-suite shower facility, fitted wardrobe, drawer cabinets and a wicker chair. Air-conditioning provides both cooling and heating to the bedrooms as required. The bedroom windows have fitted insect screens.

Patio doors lead out of the lounge onto a balcony with seating providing views of the gardens and sea and access to the roof terrace.

The large roof terrace is very private and has three sun lounges and four beach chairs for enjoying the sun, a shower provides a welcome cooling without moving far. Alfresco eating can be enjoyed here whilst enjoying the views as the area is provide with a large table, 6 chairs, and a 16m2 area Pagoda with 2 blinds which can be positioned as desired for additional shade, a full sized gas barbeque with gas ring, a sink and subtle lighting for those warm pleasant evenings. Stored in a casita are a paddling pool, beach games, buckets and spades, snorkel and mask, a body board and beach parasol for guests use.

The fully fitted kitchen has an oven, hob, extractor, toaster, kettle microwave, washing machine, a fire extinguisher and small first aid kit and smoke alarm.

Should you have young children a travel cot is stored in the larger wardrobe and a high chair can be provided on request. There is a child safety gate for use at the top of the solarium roof steps and a lockable gate to the entry area to the front door of the property.

This apartment has been furnished to a high standard for us to enjoy, so you will find it fully equipped with all the kitchen utensils and basic ingredients like oil, salt, sugar, pepper and dried herbs etc to enable you to prepare any type of meal. We only ask that as a courtesy to the next guest that you replace any item used up. For a charge a starter food pack can be provided.

Included in the price is bed linen, towels including beach towels, tea towels and kitchen towel.

Two unheated swimming pools are located just metres from the apartment each with a small children’s pool.

Please note a car is recommended for shopping and to see the local attractions of which there are many. There is however a bus service to Puerto Mazarron and Cartagena

LA AZOHIA
Lying at the east end of Mazarron Bay La Azohia sandy beaches are gently shelving with shallow, warm waters. A lovely palm-lined promenade stretches two miles, passing a number of bars and restaurants, ensuring a memorable evening stroll along the sea front, as the sun sets across the bay. The area is very quiet and retains a very Spanish flavour but livens up in the summer months when a number of additional beach bars are erected. During these months lifeguards are in attendance. Beyond the tower of Saint Elena the deep waters on the cliffs of Cabo Tiñoso provide excellent diving. It is still possible to see local line caught tuna being landed at local quay side.

Just 10 minutes drive away Puerto de Mazarron has a wealth of shops, bars, restaurants, and a large sandy beach with children’s play areas. The Sunday market here is a must particularly for its local fruit and veg.
Twenty minutes drive away over the mountains is the Historic naval town of Cartagena.

Activities
Walks and treks of all grades are available both locally and in the nearby Sierra Espuna less than an hour’s drive away. (2 sets of trekking poles, large scale maps and walking guide notes are proved for guests use) Sierra Espuna is a beautiful national park which provides walking on good well marked tracks particularly in the summer months as it has a cooler climate than on the coast. There are a number of restaurants and bars and numerous barbeque areas here also to enjoy.
There are 4 dive schools in the immediate vicinity and the diving is reputed to be the 5th best in the world.
A round of golf can be had within a 30-minute drive at the 9 hole Campasol course. Also La Manga area, less than an hour’s drive away, offers a number of top quality courses.

The apartment is in a quiet area but you may hear occasional noise. It has access to a shared swimming pool, a south facing patio area, a west facing balcony, sea views, panoramic views, interesting views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.
