Villa Emma is indeed a very nice and spacious house with a gorgious view from its terraces on the Aegean sea. The house is reletively well equiped (2 drawbacks are lack of a microwave oven and blinds in one of the bedrooms) allowing an excellent stay-over for a large family. The proximity to the shared swimmingpool is an absolute plus. The swimmingpool is well kept and not crowded. The area of Gumusluk is not so touristic and not crowded (at least not in period we were there - second half of August) although there has been too much construction in the area in recent years. We hoped for better nearby beaches for young children and missed sand and shallow water. Otherwise the Bodrum peninsula is beautiful and we enjoyed very much a trip to Efeso. The house owners are very pleasant and helpful.

A great property for a family holiday, very spacious rooms, air conditioning, two bathrooms, chill out areas for reading and relaxing with breathtaking views of the area.
The property is in a 'Garden of Eden' situated in a mature residential area close by to the pool and small pool bar.
A walk down to the beach/bathing area will also bring you past two shops that are sufficient for everything you would need for this type of holiday, plus three restaurants (one on the beach) serving very good food. Also on the local beach is kayaking and wind surfing.
Gumusluk - can be reached on foot in approx 25-30 mins by walking along the beach and taking the back road into the village - bars, beach side restaurants, shops, markets, small art gallery, classical music concerts in August, and short 'wade' across to rabbit Island or further round the bay - in summary Gumusluk is a beautiful place make sure you explore it properly - recommendations for restuarants.. The Beach Restaurant, The Bati, The 'pie' shop next to the 'supermarket' - The Mimiza whilst good is overpriced.
Turgetries - can be reached in 20 mins on a Dolmus and has excellent beaches, bars, restaurants and an amazing market on a Saturday, also useful for those football fans as sone bars cater for live football matches.
Bodrum - 45 mins in Dolmus - great place for shopping and markets - clothes market on Tuesday with fruit/veg/spices market on Thursday. Again some great eating places and more night life.
We managed to go to the aqua park which is about half way to Bodrum, scuba diving in Gumbet and even ventured as far as Istanbul via Bodrum airport.
In summary its a great villa with everything you coudl possibly need, great place to use as a base, beautiful area, you dont really need a hire car as local transport is very good and runs until the very early hours of the morning (05:00!)
