We had a fantastic holiday staying at Cactus 218, the apartment was clean and had everything you need and the view was lovely as its at the top of the resort. We were there end of september and spent most of our time relaxing by the top pool which was lovely and peaceful. In the evenings we walked over to Kalkan and had some wonderful meals out and a few drinks after.

This was our second visit and it was even better then the first. We arrived on a Wednesday which meant we could buy fresh produce, salad, cheese, nuts and fruit from Kalkans market on Thursday. We love Turkey and this apartment at Patara Prince is a wonderful place to stay. We slept with the doors open at night, listening to the crickets and Turkish wedding music being blown across the bay on those lovely warm breezes. We enjoyed the short walk and stunning views to the sea for a swim and felt really good after walking back up the hill - all before breakfast! (there is a shuttle bus). Loved the bars, cold beer, pizzas and fishing! Theres a new pedestrian walkway to Kalkan and this is a nice 15 min walk. We hired a car this time to get around and visit some of the incredible ancient sites, mountains and beaches in the area. We just love this place, and are so pleased we have found it.

Apartment was in a great location for us,only a few yards from the well-stocked market-shop and the infinity pool, where the views down to the bay and up to the hills were great. The walk to the bottom of the site to get to restaurants, sea pools and sea was steep okay, but you could catch a shuttle bus if timed right. The apartment itself was clean and pleasantly furnished, with good views from the balcony. Not having air con in the second bedroom was a disadvantage and we did assume wed have some sort of welcome pack, but didnt. The resort was not busy and the staff generally were very helpful. The transfer from Dalaman was quite long but the current road improvements should shorten that.

The apartment was simply furnished yet comfortable, with a view of kalkan bay and the mountains from the balcony. It is at the top of the complex, close to the infinity pool and small shop.Behind is a small road where you can park, and there was some occaisonal traffic noise, but ot was not significant. It was a 5-8 min walk down to the other excellent pools and sea, where you could catch the water bus from the hotel quay over to Kalkan town.We enjoyed having the use of all the Hotel facilities, and the whole complex had lovely gardens and was very attractive. If you plan to self cater the cooking faciliites are rather basic, but Kalkan offers many great restaurants. We loved relaxing at the complex, and exploring the surrounding area. We had a great time and would definitely go back.

We returned from a fabulous holiday in Cactus 218 in June 2011. What a fantastic location! All amenities are close by and the use of the hotel facilities added to our enjoyment. The hotel offers many services, a haman, restaurants, small disco and three lovely pools to mention but a few. The apartment went beyond all our expectations. It was tastefully decorated ,spacious and contained all the equipment required for our stay. The owners Nigel and Sue Lewin made every effort to make our stay so special. The information pack was very helpful and the personal touch provided from Nigel and Sue by recommending their favourite places was much appreciated. We would recommend this wonderful place to anyone and intend to revisit soon.

The views for the property were stunning, and the apartment itself was clean and tidy with all you would need for a comfortable stay. The people were so friendly, the food was excellent, and it wont be the last time we visit.

I have stayed at this apartment twice now, most recently with two friends when we visited Kalkan in November. Its an absolutely lovely apartment in a beautiful peaceful setting and I would certainly recommend it. Its very clean and has been newly decorated. The living room has doors that open on to a balcony with a table and chairs and sunloungers, with a view out across the beautiful grounds of the Patara Prince Resort to the sea. The kitchen is perfectly equipped for making meals - which we did a couple of nights, and it was still warm enough to eat out on the balcony. The apartment is situated at the top of the resort, quite close to the parking area and a small shop. There is a pool at the top of the resort, and 2 more pools down at the hotel. The resort itself is stunningly beautiful - flowers, trees everywhere and it is a lovely walk down to the hotel where we often went for breakfast. We got a discount on everything we ate and drank at the hotel. It is a bit of a climb walking back up but good exercise - or you can take the resorts shuttle bus. In the summer there is a small boat to take you across to Kalkan for a few turkish lira. I shall be returning there again!

Although the property had been freshly painted and was in good taste, the second bedroom was literally feet away from the road, meaning one had to keep the window closed all night. The bathroom is very basic with an inadequate shower that you can only use as a hand shower as the hook on the wall would only work for a seven foot giant. The water was either scalding or freezing cold and it was difficult at times to find a comfortable temperature. The space described as a kitchen is one unit, a plug in two ring hotplate and a small oven/grill. There was no salad bowl and only one wine glass. Even the most basic cooking in Turkey requires a salad! The tap in the kitchen needed a new washer and was loose on the fixing, meaning it dripped constantly. Despite reporting this to reception on three separate occasions nothing was done. The kitchen tap spurted out boiling water when you turned it on, meaning we both had scalds as the water came out in spurts. The kitchen and bathroom were inadequate and old fashioned, but this seems to be the way the place was built 15 so years ago. We were told that there would be tea and coffee for us on our arrival....this consisted of two teabags and a quarter of a small jar of coffee. There was only one duster sized tea towel so make sure you pack some. On a more positive note, it was only £299 a week which was very cheap as it comfortably sleeps two couples. The resort is very nice with a wonderful sea water pool and beautiful landscaping. The staff were on the whole friendly and helpful but perhaps the non appearance of the maintenance man is what Turkey is all about.....relaxed and friendly but not terribly efficient. There is a small supermarket just outside the complex which sells basics (but no fruit or veg you would want to do anything but throw out) so it is quite a trek into Kalkan to get stocked up (unless you want to eat all meals in the resort restaurants which are quite reasonable but not very inspiring.) Rather than pack a beach towel, buy one of the cotton towels they use in the Turkish bath (in Kalkan) for about a fiver in sterling. That saves a lot of room in your suitcase and is fine for the pool to put on your sunbed.

Owner reply:
Unfortunately you will always get people that focus on the negative aspects and underestimate the positives. We do apologize about the dripping tap, it was due to the solar panel system and it has now been fixed, and the shower is very easy to use. No welcome pack was requested but enough tea and coffee were left as a favour, it’s a pity that it wasn’t received in the spirit that it was intended. No mention of course of the generous other complimentary items such as shower gel, shampoo, lotion, nail files, sewing kits etc, etc. or the excellent maid service that comes in alternate days.. We are still puzzled about the non existence of wine glasses.
However the guest did mention that the apartment has been freshly painted and furnished in good taste. And that the resort is very nice and at £299 is very good value for money and comfortably sleeps two couples, plus all set in a nice resort with beautiful landscaping, with full use of the many facilities it can’t all be bad!!

The property is at the very back of the resort so be prepared to walk down to the pools and the sea. The minibus for coming back up was a godsend. The apartment was more than adequate for this type of holiday when all you really do is sleep in it. The resort itself is very nice with very helpful staff. Be prepared to pay for anything you buy there at the end of the holiday as you sign for things, even a cup of coffee, rather than use cash. This way you get a discount. All in all a fabulous holiday destination and we will be back.

We had a lovely holiday in this resort, and would most definitely recommend it, although we were disappointed with the standard of the apartment. The furniture and decor was very dated and the whole apartment had not been deep cleaned. The doors and paint work were dirty and the main living area had 2 areas of damp coming through the walls. The bathroom was very cramped. Compared to other apartments on site that we have seen whilst there and on the internet we would not choose this one again.

Owner reply:
We were pleased that you enjoyed your holiday at the resort, but,we are sorry that you were disapointed with our apartment. I shall take up the matter of the housekeeping with management, we have not had this problem before. The apartment had been refurbished last year. We were not aware that there as a problem of damp appearing and will amend this immediately. The bathrooms in all the apartments are of the same size. Dear reader, please compare this review to the others.

Well what can we say the apartment was fantastic the views and resort were the same!!! We had some wonderful meals and fabulous day trips. We can honestly say it was the best holiday we have ever had and would definately consider a return visit. The steps were a challenge on certain days but that added to the fun. Im really missing my morning coffee looking out onto the sea. We took a fantastic picture when the sun was coming down over the top pool which is now been transfered to canvas and is situated pride of place in our conservitory! Thank you again regards Lesley Sean and Sian

Cactus apartment 218 made our holiday. We chose this apartment in order to have all the benefits of the Patara Prince Resorts facilities alongside the value for money of self catering. The flat itself was spacious and well presented with enough cooking facilities to allow us to cook dinner every other evening. As Nigel and Sue are members of the resort we also received a 25% discount in the hotels restaurents (which were very good). It had a lovely balcony with sun loungers, table and chairs, which was perfect for watching the sun go down with a cocktail in hand. The apartment is situated close to the parking area so we were able to take trips around the coast in our hire car with minimal effort. There is a market near the apartment but this was quite expensive, so its advisable to hire your own car and shop in nearby Kalkan. The resort itself is lovely but there are a lot of steps so most of the time we waited for the free bus service to our apartment. Over all a lovely, good value holiday which is perfect for couples and parents with small children.

We were extremely comfortable and had a wonderful 2 weeks in the resort. It is very beautiful and scenic and we all agreed the highlight of the holiday was the ability to take the water taxi ( most of the time ) to Kalkan giving us a connection to real Turkey. The appartment is at the very top of the resort so you are kept very fit returning from the beach - but you can always use the very efficient shuttle bus service if you cant face the steps ( 443 from sea to appartment!) Fitted in the appartment very comfortably with a lovely balcony to have meals on. There is only one bedroom and although there is enough room for everyone it would not be suitable if privacy is what you are after! The location of the appartment means that you are very close to the top pool which we almost had exclusive use of in our first week and certainly at 800a.m. - it is an adyllic position overlooking the bay. Very friendly people, delicious and reasonable food, a very relaxed and easy atmoshere. I would certainly recommend it to a friend and would return another year. Not many places we have been with guaranteed blue sky and sun! Perfect place to relax with many interesting places to visit too.

This holiday is going to be hard to beat,we will be back.

What more could we ask of a holiday than the Patara Prince Resort. The appartment itself was of an excellent standard, in a quiet location at the top of the resort with sea views.Needless to say we have already booked a return holiday next year.

Nice apartment on beautiful complex. Good sea veiws from balcony although the walk up the hill could be a bit much for some (although there is a regular minibus service). Kalkan is a lovely town and there are many bars and restaurants to choose from, both there and in the resort. Overall, a most enjoyable holiday and no complaints. Everything ran smoothly. Many thanks.

The apartment was very comfortable, the Air-con was a god send! You can cook basic meals but we preferred to eat out. the complex was very pretty, the climb down to the waterside got better everyday and the shuttle bus around the complex was a god send! Not for unfit or pepole with mobility problems. The views were excellent, very quiet and the gardens were picturesque. The complex shop was expensive, but if you walked to the shop further round they were very helpful and they delivered your shopping for you. We enjoed eating out in Kalkan most of all, The Doy Doy, Aubergine restaurant and best of all the Arena restaurant. If you like riding try the Patara sands beach ride, we went twice and it wa fabulous galloping through the sea, the scenery is spectacular.

Great place to relax and unwind - felt very private and the resort has good staff and facilities - there were always plenty of sun beds available. Visiting the Hamam and having a massage after is a must! The apartment itself is basic in terms of cooking facilities, but clean, with a decent shower and a lovely view. Overall a very enjoyable stay!
