Fabulous property! The decor is cosy, homely and elegantly chic, but yet practically laid out and really appropriately cut for a holiday home. There are enough utensils and crockery for 12, and cooking for 10 is very manageable. The living area is well cut and was full of life during our stay. We were there for skiing, so werent in the property all day, and really didnt have time to enjoy all of it. One of us stayed in and had saunas regularly - and loved it. (Sauna Aufguss in the bottom drawer in the downstairs bathroom) . We really were amazed at the quality of the property and are booking for 2 weeks next year.
The ski resort in Kreischberg is about 12mins away by car, and the roads were well prepared - even the tiny paved road to the property. The ski resort itself is perfect for beginners and younger children. If you enjoy reds and blues (and Im told the blacks are great too), youll be happy for a few days. But if you want lots of variety, youll want to head further afield.
There was also a great cross-country track close by... but it needs quite a lot of snow to be open. (Theres a skating track in the mountains / you need a day cable-car pass E10 to use it).
Shopping was a bit of a trial - so be organised. Theres a local shop which was sometimes very inexpensive - potatoes E1 for 2 Kgs!, but mostly exorbitantly expensive. But in Murau (20/25 mins) there is Aldi / Discounters and some more upmarket suparmarkets.
If you book: remember to buy dishwasher tabs... there is probably hand soap, persil, softener, a small amount of toilet paper... etc in the appartment. The cleaner does a great job and leaves the salt, pepper etc in the appartment from the preceding rental.. so you dont have to buy everything. At least it means you have enough for the first night - and probably for the stay.
We loved it. And many many thanks to Jo for being such a star answering so many questions before hand...

We spent a week at this property with three kids between the ages of 11 and 18. This was our first time to rent a property like this and also in this area, and certainly will not be our last. My kids thought it was the best place they had been to
The chalet is situated in a new small development, which is very secluded but with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside and mountains. The way the chalet is situated pretty well allows for you not to be overlooked by the neighbours, and the new indoor pool and jacuzzi just accross from the chalet is great and not too deep for the kids.
The interior of the chalet was clean, bright and modern and the DVD, TV, PS2 and a number of board games certainly kept the kids happy.
The surrounding countryside is very rural and quiet for relaxing but also has so much to do, and a valley cycle track is easily accessable even for the novice and Salzburg is only 1hr 30mins away.
I would very highly recommend this peoprty to any prospective renter, the owners were excellent and helpfull in their communications and could not fault any part of the experience and we will without doubt return to this area and to this chalet in the future.

We stayed in this chalet recently and found it to be very clean on arrival. It was well equipped and had very comfortable beds. The chalet has lovely views and is on a small development.
Stadl is a lovely village and the skiing in nearby Kreischberg was really good - great conditions! We also went to Turracher Hohe which was just as good.
The local hotel does excellent food and will even deliver it to the chalet.
We highly recommend this chalet and hope to return soon.

This was a stunning property, welcoming and extremely well catered. Everything you could ever want or need in self catering accommodation.
This chalet is in one of the most stunning locations, swimming pool on site with many things locally to do, excellent restaurants and very friendly locals.
I cannot recommend this property highly enough.

Substantial, well appointed accommodation with everything supplied for a very comfortable stay in a lovely scenic location. Ideally located for walking, cycling, rafting or just strolling down to the lovely village to swim in the family-friendly lake, play tennis, volleyball etc. We will certainly be taking another holiday there - possibly in the ski season.

In a completly unspoilt rural area of alpine Austria. Sitting on the decking the only sounds are the stream, the wind in the trees, the cowbells and the Buzzards calling. The town of Stadl has some small shops and a couple of excellent restaurants and bars. The Mur cycle trail is excellent for all abilities. There are great walking trails starting right at the chalet.
The chalet is beatiful, very clean, comfortable beds, great views, well equipped kitchen, piles of towels. Sauna and spa bath both great. Will be booking again.
Plenty to see in the local area, furthest travelled was a day trip to Klagenfurt.
