We were the party of 4 people from Russia (3adults + 1 kid) staying at this house 2 weeks in June-July 2012. The house was beyond all expectations: very close to the sea, in a quite location and with spacious garden. There are 3 turtles in the garden, and during first 3 days our kid was busy with turtles... The bay is very picturesque , vacation was great and relaxing. The owner Zora is very nice and we had all we expected. I have more pictures of the house if the are any questions or comments you may contact me on elisichkina@bk.ru

The Villa was in a beautiful location, and of course the weather made it good. I was disappointed with the presentation of the house as it was what I consider to be tired, with the odd wire hanging out of the wall!
However, the owner was very friendly and helpful.
Access to the property by car is a nightmare unless you have a Smart car!

Summer House Silvja is an excellent place to stay. The owner, Zora, is very pleasant to deal with and looks after the property well. The village of Zaton is well situated about 15 minutes by car from Dubrovnik. Its probably a much better place to stay than Dubrovnik itself, which is very busy with tourists in the summer. There are three restaurants in Zaton, none of which is cheap. The house itself offers perfectly good cooking and BBQ facilities, with good open-air areas to eat.
Thoroughly recommended as a good property for a relaxing holiday. Its actually considerably larger than the photos suggest.
One note of caution, which has nothing to do with the property itself: watch out for slippery steps when entering the sea! Id also suggest leaving your car away from the property, as only the locals really know how to negotiate the narrow roads. Its not far to walk. Enjoy.

We had a wonderful time at this lovely house in a perfect location. Before our holiday we were a little concerned from looking at the photos on the Villarenters website that it might be a bit dark and gloomy, but how wrong we were! The garden is very pretty and colourful, and the trees give much needed shade.
The house is very well equipped with plenty of clean towels and everything you could need (though the mattresses were on the firm side) and as the owner said, the patio, with its large table and chairs, was our living room. The accommodation was ideal for us - three female friends but would probably not be suitable for six adults, despite having three double bedrooms, as there is only one bathroom and a tiny kitchen.
The location on Zaton Bay, just five miles from Dubrovnik, is ideal. It is literally a few steps from the gate to the beautifully clear Adriatic, and only a minute’s walk from the nearest restaurant. It was a great bonus to have the use of kayaks and there were also two windsurfers, which we didn’t attempt to use.
We would endorse previous reviewers’ comments about the scary drive to the house, as much for the very narrow streets with high walls either side as for the drive alongside the water’s edge. After the first day we preferred to leave the car a few minutes’ walk away in the centre of the village.
All in all, we would highly recommend this house to others, and would gladly return.

We loved the setting for this property. Right on the seafront in a bay just north of Dubrovnik. We had a car but used local bus service to go into Dubrovnik. Felt very safe coming home on the last bus. Although there is a seafront restaurant close by it was an extremely quiet location. The drive to the property is not for the faint hearted and can only be made in a small car as the streets are extremely narrow. Our host made us feel very welcome and the property was well equipped and had everything that we could possibly want. There was fresh bread available daily five minutes walk away and a lovely 30 minute walk along the sea took you to a very well stocked shop.
Would definetly recommend this property for a get away from it relaxing holiday. We loved it.

BEAUTIFUL QUIET LOCATION WITH EASY ACCESS TO LOCAL RESTAURANTS.
CONVENIENT FOR A DAY OUT IN DUBROVNIK.
THE PROPERTY WAS CLEAN & COMFORTABLE AND THE GARDEN WAS DELIGHTFUL. ZORA (THE OWNER) WAS HELPFUL AND WE FOUND THAT THIS PLACE WAS IDEAL FOR THE MOST RELAXING HOLIDAY WE HAVE HAD FOR YEARS.

This house is in a truly amazing location. You walk out of the front door and within 10 meters you are standing at the waters edge, looking across a beautiful bay at the blue waters of the Adriatic. The village is small but has a few restaurants and bars and a stall that sells fresh bread and pastries. A small supermarket is a 5 minute drive or a 20 minute walk away. One thing to be aware of is that the village streets are very narrow - not for the faint hearted when you are manoeuvring your car just inches away from the waters edge !
The house is fairly small and basic but has all the items you a likely to need during your stay. The garden has a shaded terrace with amazing views over the bay and a barbeque area. There are also canoes available for guests to use. It is a little run down in places and could benefit from a little smartening up. Despite the fact that it is located quite close to a restaurant it is very quiet and peaceful, especially when the shutters are closed at night. The owner is very welcoming and friendly and speaks good English.
Overall, given the location, Id say that the house represents good value for money. The only thing that prevents me from giving it a five star rating is the fact that it could do with a bit of smartening up in places.

We absolutely loved staying at this house. We arranged for a minibus to pick us up from Dubrovnic airport (50 Euros) The drive takes about 40 minutes - the views on the way are stunning and as you approach the house the road swings around the Bay of Zaton and you get your first glimpse of the beautiful setting you will be staying in. The house feels like a home with all sorts of extras - loads of clean towels, everything you could possibly want in the kitchen, really powerful shower - and a CD player that wasnt mentioned -so bring some CDs if you like music . The garden was lovely and very prvate lots of trees to proved shade. There is a dining table inside and outside - with lovely views of the bay and a side garden with the stone BBQ and another seating area - couldnt have asked for more! Oh and the owner was lovely too with great English. Highly recommended - peaceful location but easy to get about.

We loved the ironed sheets and the cleanliness. We loved the turtles in the garden and so appreciated the use of the laundry. We were late coming in and the owner made accommodations for us. We loved the town and the friendliness of everyone. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Atruely excellent find! The house may be small and basic but has everything you could want (including fans) and the garden is a delight. The owner was very helpful and kind. The position is out of this world and the village very charming with wonderful bakery, a veg stall and plenty of very quiet and very good restaurants close by. Supermarket is a walk along the coat path.....go early before it gets to hot to walk!! The village is very peaceful and relaxing but plenty of help from the tourist info and excellent bus and boat trips to Dubrovnik and surrounding islands. A truely beautful spot with glorious beaches, coves, wooded walks close by. Everywhere very clean and unspoilt. A true gem of a find!!!!!

Great villa in a great place. It has everything you need except air conditioning, which was not a great problem. The only slight downside is that the nearest supermarket is a very pleasant 20 minutes walk away.
There is a bread shop in the village that is open all hours and a fruit and veg stall that is open in the mornings, both within 3 minutes walk.
The bus to Dubrovnik leaves from the Information Office and takes about 15 minutes it costs HK14 and stops beside a large supermarket if you need to do a big shop.
There is a boat that leaves at 9.00 every morning to Dubrovnik and returns about 6.00 (HK25 one way HK40 return). You can get a bus from where it dro ps you into the old town.
The streets leading to the villa are narrow and our 7 seat taxi was too big to get through so we had to walk the last 100 or so metres. If you hire a car dont pick a big one!
The restaurants in zaton are great, try them all. Our favourite was the two pines. You have to try the black risotto and the fish cooked under the bell at Kasar, the restaurant closest to the villa.
If you are looking for a quiet relaxing place to chill out you couldnt pick a better spot.

If you are looking for 5 star luxury then look elsewhere BUT if what you want is value for money accommodation in an indyllic setting then I would recommend this place very highly.
The property is situated just back from the sea in a private location. As a previous reviewer said, the facilities are a little dated but this does not detract at all the kitchen is ceratinly well equipped if you want to self cater. We didnt hire a car which is fine if you are primarily looking to relax. There is a reasonable bus service to Dbrovnik that goes 5/6 times a day. The supermarket in the village has closed but the nearest one is a 2km walk along the coast footpath.
The local restaurants are excellent I would definitely recommened the Kasar (it is pictured by the boat on the website) for fantastic fish and the main bar in the village for those who prefer steak. A day out on the 3 island cruise on the M/S Zvir which sails from the village is also a must. If you are looking for somewhere to really relax then this is the place for you we are already planning a return visit.

The villa is in a beautiful location - very quiet and literally right by the sea. The road to the villa is extremely narrow in places which can be a bit unnerving but is fine once you get used to it (one false move and you could be in the sea!). Inside is comfortable although a little dated however you will find everything you could possibly need for your stay. Bring a couple of jumpers for chilly autumn/spring evenings though as there is no heating.
All in all we had a wonderful week, the owner is very welcoming and helpful and we would certainly go back again.

Fantastic location only a short car ride from Dubrovnik. Property is set away from the main coastal road, which can be very busy. You literally walk out of the garden and you are by the sea in a very safe, sheltered bay.
Property comes with kayaks and a surf board, which our children loved messing around on. No complaints of being bored on this holiday.
The owner is a very sweet lady, who speaks very good English.
The house is basic but with everything you need in the kitchen and lots of towels etc. It does get a bit stuffy inside as there is no aircon or fans. But great outdoor barbeque area, with lots of seating.
A great little place in a perfect setting.
Be warned - the roads down to the village are very, very narrow. We live in Devon and are used to narrow tracks but these were something else. If you are driving a wider than average car - ie MPV, park at the top of the road and walk down.

The house was ideally situated next to the sea with a lovely private garden. Plenty of restaurants locally at good prices. Local bus or boat to Dubrovnik.
Access to the house would be very difficult with a large car.
The owner was very welcoming.

The house is nice and private. It has all you need, except maybe fans. The village of Zaton Veliki is nice with a few good restaurants. The road is small, so drive slow. The swimming is wonderful just outside the house, bring swim shoes. This is a great place for kids, very safe.
Make sure to walk up the hill for a nice view. The house is close to Dubrovnik and all the nice islands. We loved Mjlet. A day trip to the Bay of Kotor, Montenegro was wonderful. Over all a great place to spend a holiday.

A nice holiday in a homely property right next to the warm clear sea. The owner was very helpful and speaks good English, and the village itself has several good places to eat and drink. One word of warning however is that the road to the property is very narrow and can be difficult to negotiate.
