Luxury spacious farmhouse gite near a quiet village in the Loire Valley

Le Bois is a 250 year old farmhouse set in a small hamlet close to the village of Meigne le Vicomte which has recently been totally refurbished to an exceptionally high standard by the owners. In 2010 a large above ground pool (20 X 12) was added to the south facing aspect as well as free wireless internet and free telephone calls internationally. The property comprises of 3500 square feet of accommodation as follows.

The kitchen has a very large authentic farmhouse kitchen fully equipped with all modern conveniences being dominated by a full height tuffeau stone fireplace with superb log burning stove and a matching shaker style kitchen table and 6 chairs. Accessed via the kitchen is a large utility room providing access to the rear garden complete with a large sink, washing machine/tumble drier and separate WC off this room. There is a substantial lounge which is well equipped with two large leather settees and separate chair. There is a large screen TV with Sky TV and a DVD player, Mini HiFi and iPod docking system. Like the kitchen the room has a feature fireplace and large wood burning stove with three double patio doors looking out over the rear gardens.

Upstairs the property benefits from three large bedrooms (master bedroom ensuite) being the master bedroom with Kingsize bedas well a double anda twin bedroom. Each room benefits from fantastic views over the surrounding countryside. There is a large main bathroom which comprises of a large shower cubicle and separate bath. To complete the upstairs accommodation there is a mezzanine floor which has a large bed settee which is large enough for two adults to sleep comfortably.

Outside the property is set in 2 acres of land, which is mainly laid to course lawn, and for your enjoyment a large 6 seat hardwood table set with an oversize parasol is situated close to the kitchen door together with a Stainless Steel charcoal BBQ set. In the barn guests will find two cycles for their use during the visit with the village being an easy, flat ride suitable for all ages. there is a new above ground pool measuring approximately 20 X 12 X 4 which has a solar cover and comes with a volley ball net for your added enjoyment. The pool is fully filtered.



What do do in the Loire Valley
The Loire Valley is an area renowned for its natural beauty, pretty villages and magnificent Chateaux. It also goes without saying that in France food and wine are equally as important to the locals as their heritage.

Le Bois is located close to the main routes travelling in all directions and most locations can be reached within a 15 to 30 minute car journey. The towns of Tours, Angers, Saumur, Le Mans and Le Lude are all within easy drive and provide quality shopping, historic interest, pavement cafes and a variety of quality restaurants. Walking, cycling and water sports are all available close to the property and on site we provide two cycles for use by our guests. The area’s most famous historic sites are the various Chateaux which line the banks of the Loire
River. Most notable of these are Saumur, Chenonceaux, Azay-le-Rideau and Ambois. For children and adults alike there are three local zoos, each with its own unique way of presenting the animals!

For the golfer the area has many local golf courses within an hours drive, with nearest at Bauge being a renowned competition course. Discount tickets are available both locally and via the internet.

The gite is in a very quiet area. It has a private south facing swimming pool, a south facing garden, a south facing patio area, panoramic views, interesting views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.
