Review by Jude from York
Kefalonia is a diverse island with a little of something for everbody. Our favourite is the North of the island which still remains largely unspoilt although
Fiscardo is becoming a bit upmarket, no doubt due to some of the fantastic yachts which call in to enjoy the restaurants. Just outside the town however it is still possible to find authentic greek food in restaurants where you can sit a the waters edge and whatch the sunset - a real Shirley Valnetine moment - and not only is the food excellent it is so much cheaper than in the town.
The locals are friendly and helpful and love it when you try to speak Greek even encouraging you by coaching you with new words and phrases.
If you want a beach holiday with entertainment then stay in the
South, there is no sand in the north just little pebble coves many of which can only be accessed by boat.
