We have just spent a most enjoyable 5 days in Meenans thatched cottage. The house is very cozy and comfortable, and Angela & Connie are wonderful hosts. We did some hill-walking, and the Port to Glenlough route is spectacular to say the least. The mountains and hills of southwest Donegal make it an extremely attractive area for anyone interested in hill-walking.

My wife and I stayed at the cottage in January and found it to be exactly what we were looking for. Thatched roof, beautiful countryside, nice people and a peat fire. What more could you want. The house interior was a bit worn but comfortable...this added to the charm. All and all we could not have been more pleased.

Meenans Thatched Cottage was exactly what we wanted. It is remote and quiet, beautiful in itself and set in a beautiful landscape. The welcome from the owners was first rate with a roaring peat fire, a Christmas Tree and the electric blanket warming the bed. The kettle was on! The cottage is small and has basic facilities only but it was perfect for us for a quiet New Years break.

House in a beautiful setting, small, comfortable and cozy. Turf for fire was provided. Additional charges included the electric and oil. The water was brown when we where there due to local construction. Great local sight seeing. Overall, a pleasant experience.

Wonderful traditional cottage in a very peaceful setting. We loved the beautiful surrounding, especially Slieve League and Glencolmcille, which is truley a a magic place. We recommend everybody to spend some time on the Slieve League peninsula. It is especially a great place for hiking tours. We will always remember sitting in front of the turf fire in Meenan's cottage enjoying a Guiness.

The thatched cottage was a real delight, especially with its peat-burning fireplace. In addition its location in south-west Donegal provides easy access to some wonderful hiking paths along the coast and views of interesting archaeological sites.

Meenan's Thatched Cottage represents the part of Ireland I have fallen in love with....the rustic landscape, the unique pub culture and the warm hospitality of the Irish people. It gives you a deep appreciation for what Ireland has to offer in the country.....stunning views and good craic. What else is there? Give it a try you will love it.

Beautiful thatched cottage - a real home. It was so great to have the fire lighting when we arrived, and to have so many little extras available to us. We will certainly return here again. It was a great holiday and I highly recommend this cottage for its stunning location and for the warmth and consideration of the owner.

The thatch is superbly situated "It is just the most picturesque cottage you could ever see in the whole of Donegal" "Inside the cottage is simple but very clean " "The walk into Carrick is a good mile - a car would be essential" - Mrs Cheesman August 1997

Our holiday was terrific. We wanted somewhere quiet, and we got it. Just a few sheep for company, two of which enjoyed my saxophone practice on the hillside everyday!Mr HARRISON Feb. 2002
