We spent almost 2 weeks in The Lilac apartment in June 2012. It was the most relaxing and enjoyable time I have had in years. The views were amazing from the property. Alberto, the home owner, was very helpful and gracious. The apartment was clean and spacious. We are planning to return to this beautiful place near Florence. Lovers of history will find this location ideal. Living in a rental home was far better than being in a hotel. We had a rental car that allowed us the freedom of seeing the pretty villages and historic sites. I have recommended this rental to all my friends. All the best to you, Alberto. You made us feel like we were "at home". You are so fortunate to have this lovely historic home. Diana and John Cowland

“Home away from Home” 16-22 MAGGIO 2012 Lilac apartment. This place conjures images of a Tuscan painting. A nice villa situated on top of a hill with a small dirt road and olive trees on both sides. Our family stayed here for a week and we just loved the place. It is a bit far from Florence itself but since we opted to rent a car, we made quick work of the drive. Alberto, the owner, was very hospitable and ensured that we got the most of our stay. We would strongly recommend La Pietra Grezza as a great alternative to the typical city hotels that abound in Florence. Surely we will stay here again if ever we visit Tuscany again. When July - August, 2006, 4 weeks Location La Pietra Grezza in Bisticci is approximately 20km south-east of Florence and is near the top of a hill approximately 1.5km up from the main road. There is another long-term rental property comprising three apartments close by and we found our neighbours quiet and friendly. Otherwise we were surrounded by olive groves, woods and beautiful countryside. We found La Pietra Grezza quiet and peaceful and it would be impossible to tire of the beautiful views of the Arno Valley from every window. Nearby Amenities The nearest village is Cellai, approximately 1.5km away. Cellai has an alimentari where you can buy fresh bread, wine, delicatessan items and groceries. There is a larger town, Incisa, about 8km away with a Co-Op supermarket and weekly markets. We used to get the local bus into Florence from the main road at Cellai - this is a pretty trip of about 40 minutes and the bus station is very close to Florence railway station in the centre of the city. We usually had lunch in Florence and cooked at home in the evening as it was so pleasant to be able to eat our meals outdoors. The House/Apartment La Pietra Grezza comprises three stories and has recently been restored. The owner lives on the bottom floor and there are two apartments above. We had The Lilac apartment on the top. The apartment was beautifully peaceful. We would lie in bed in the morning and the only sound we could hear was the soft coo-ing of birds nearby. The Lilac apartment has two double bedrooms, bathroom, an extra toilet, eat-in kitchen, large lounge/dining room and to-die-for views from every window. Garden We had our own private garden area with two banana lounges, sun umbrella and covered outdoor eating area with small barbecue. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas The Lilac apartment was very comfortable and well-furnished. There was nothing we lacked. Bedrooms/Bathrooms Our bedroom had a very large double bed and also a single. The second bedroom had one double bed. The rooms were very large and both had big wardrobes and dressing tables. There were extra foldaway beds stored in the apartment which could have been used to sleep extra people. The bathroom had a combined shower/bath, bidet and toilet and there was a separate toilet and washbasin next door. Kitchen The kitchen was well-equipped and we enjoyed preparing meals there. The stove had three gas burners and one electric. The oven was gas. This was the only time in our stay in Italy that we had a large refrigerator which we really enjoyed filling up. We had a small table and chair setting in the kitchen and when we ate inside (rarely), we had the choice of either eating in the kitchen or at the larger table in the lounge/dining area. Problems or Bonuses No surprises - just a very pleasant and happy four weeks. Agency and Representatives (and price) We booked directly with Alberto, the owner, and from the time of our initial inquiry we were given much kindness and courtesy. Because Alberto lives downstairs, he was always available to us should we need him and we were encouraged to just call "Alberto!" should we require his assistance at any time. He was often waiting for us on our return home to enquire about our day and see that we were safely home again. Because we were travelling by train from city to city, Alberto kindly picked us up in Florence on our arrival and again took us to a railway station nearby to board our train at the end of our stay with him. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others? Yes, we would gladly stay at La Pietra Grezza again and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone who is looking for a lovely apartment in beautiful, quiet and peaceful surroundings - yet only a short trip away from a large city. Things to do in this area We preferred bus and train travel in Italy and while in Tuscany found it very easy to use both of these methods to see so many beautiful parts - San Gimignano, Siena, Cinque Terre, the lovely Mugello area - and so many days just spent wandering in Florence. Florence in August was very crowded and it was always a delight to escape the city and come home to the country at the end of the day. by Elle from Australia

May 2006 We have rented holiday homes in Ireland,England and France. The Lilac apartment is the most confortableof all.As a touing centre, it is well located for big attractions: Florence,Siena,Pisa and the wonderfull Arezzo. But we discovered that the History and cultureis much closer to Bisticci:Cascia,St.Giovanni Valdarno and Figline are brinning with interest. The drives in the hills on both side of the Arno Valley were breathtaking, close enough to take your time, stop, look, and explore. The apartment kept us "home" many days, just soalling uo the sun and enjoying the wildlife. When it got veryhot, the wallshave guaranted a perfect cool retreat. On cold nights, early in the month, the wood burning stove was very efficient. Our German Shepherd was happy to stay home with Alberto when we made excursions with no dog interest. and she was spared in very good conditions at our return. Alberto made us feel that we were staying with family help when needed, guidance and tips that got us to the right places and genuine concern to see that we were never less than confortable. We have recommended La Pietra Grezza to our best friends, but otherwise hope to keep it our secret. Pat and Eamon with Kilo, Hertfordshire, England

At the begining of September 2010, I spent a few days with my family in appartment Lilac of La Pietra Grezza. It was short, but enugh time to meat the owner, Alberto, in the best light. Illustration for that is a specific situation which we had: Enterier of appartment Lilac is settled whith lot of taste and love: choosen pices of furniture, beautifull pictures on the walls in sittnig room, icons in beadrooms. Kitchen is completely equiped with all neccesary and quality gadgets. Everything perfectly clean. One morning, just awaked and still sleepy, I put a nice kettle on the stove, lit the gass and left the kitchen. Everything would have been the best, if it was not an electric kettle. When I felt the smelt it was to late: the black plastic bottom was already melted over the shiny rostfry surface of the stove. It looked like real disaster. In matter of minutes, the plastic hardened and become integral part of the rostfry, with minor chances to be cleaned. I felt very unpleasent and mad on myself: how to face Alberto, who decorated his house so carefuly, with such ugly sceen? I knew that my readiness to pay all the damage will be poor comfort for him. Finaly, when he came, he was obviously disturbed and confused, but he kept his calmness. After that his wife, also very pleasant and calm, brought some cleaning materials and epilog was that we succeded to clean everything. Next day Alberto bought new kettle which we paid, as well as some small damage on the gass burner, and everything was ok. Anyhow, if someone prefer quiet and relaxed holliday in country side, in friendly household, with fantastic Toscan wiev, but still so close to Florence which can be reached easily in less than 30 minutes, La Pietra Grezza wil be excelant choice. But be carefule with kichente, I made enough stress to Alberto for next few years. Predrag Stosic

When June-August 2007, 3 months Location The location was perfect. You drive up a winding road until you reach this old stone estate with beautiful flowers growing everywhere. It is very private. There are only the owners on one floor and one other apartment for rent.Next door there are two apartments for rent in another estate. We enjoyed visiting with these other couples and families, but everyone respected each others private times. Nearby Amenities You must have a car to live here. It is only a short drive down the hill to the alimentari for groceries, gas, etc. There is a large grocery only 10-15 min. away in Incisa (a Coop). The local alimentari ordered an English paper for us and had it available each morning. The House/Apartment The apartment was lovely. They provided all the kitchen equipment we needed, plus towels and linens. It is furnished with the basics, including a small television, though we did not use it much with all there was to do. There were two bedrooms, and two baths, a living and dining area combined, and a small kitchen. The views from all of the windows were amazing. Garden We had a private outdoor area where we spent a lot of time. We enjoyed sitting on the lounge chairs overlooking the valley , with the old haybarn in the distance. Extremely relaxing. It was nice to have a private area to ourselves. We also had a separate yard area where our children spent hours in the hammock ,chasing lizards, and pretending to be knights hunting for wild animals. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas The apartment was very clean upon arrival. We had a bottle of Vin Santo and special cookies awaiting us, along with a welcome sign, and information concerning upcoming events. There is a couch and two upholstered chairs in the living room, along with 6 dining chairs, and two more in the kitchen. Both bedrooms had chairs. We were very comfortable and felt like we were at home. Bedrooms/Bathrooms The beds were comfortable. The bedrooms were furnished with beds, dressers, and a large closet. The large bathroom was modern, with a bath with shower. We always had hot water. The small bath had only a toilet and sink. Kitchen There was a brand new range which I used every day. There is a large refrigerator and a new dishwasher. Agency and Representatives (and price) Alberto and his wife, Donatella, were the best part of our visit. They are extremely hospitable and you feel that you are guests in their home. They were always there to greet you at the end of the day. For three months I never heard anything negative from either one of them. She brought me dried lavender, wild herbs to keep the mosquitoes out of the house, etc. They were so gracious. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others? I would definitely stay here again! At some time in the summer, five of our children were here visiting us. We all loved it. Things to do in this area Trips to Siena, San Gimignano, Greve in Chianti, San Donato in Poggio, Florence, Citerna...the list goes on and on. Kim Edwards from Italy

When June - August 2009, 9 weeks Location Perched high above the north facing hillside of Tuscany’s Chianti Valdarno hills, La Pietra Grezza commands a beautiful view of the valley below. The drive up to the property is about 1 km on a single lane, winding road passing through beautiful olive groves and small vineyards. As described by previous reviews, the location was perfect. The property is surrounded by tall cypress trees, a lush garden full of flowers and herbs, a vegetable patch, and planters overflowing with geraniums and hydrangeas. The location is remote and quiet you’ll never tire of hearing birds chirping, pigeons cooing and church bells ringing in the distance. It is very private even though there are other properties nearby. The owner lives on the bottom floor. There is another apartment on the second floor and the Lilac is on the third. In my opinion, the Lilac Apartment provides the most beautiful views of the surrounding areas, where you are treated with great views from every room. Nearby Amenities There are not too many stores in the town of Cellai. There is a small convenient store, Luigi’s Alimentari, which supplies most of your basic food items such as milk, eggs, fruits as well as some other essentials. Luigi’s Alimentari is also a place to get your bus tickets to Florence and other nearby towns. We mostly did our groceries at a local supermarket called COOP in Rignano about 5 km away or Figline about 10 km away. (They both take credit cards.) There is also a gas station and a hairdresser. A swimming pool is located at Il Pogetto Campgrounds. There is also an internet point here. In the next town of Troghi there is a Post Office, a tabbachieri, and a coffee bar. A designer outlet The Mall is only about 10km away in Leccio. The House/Apartment The general interior of the apartment is typical Tuscan with an exposed beams ceiling, cotto tiled floor and plaster walls. The color schemes are pleasant and inviting. The walls are decorated with framed pictures of country scenery and art prints. Entrance to the apartment is through some steps on the back of the property. The furnishings are simple but practical. The six-person dining room table was big and ample. We used this almost every night for our family dinner and afterward to play cards in the evening. The living room is simply decorated with a leather sofa, two side chairs and a coffee table. It is set next to a window that provides a nice backdro p for our quiet indoor reading. There is also a book shelve that we filled up with our reading materials and other local journals we collected throughout our stay. A small TV is there, which my teen children used often to check on the weather, nightly, Italian MTV shows and soccer matches. There are two bathrooms in this apartment. One with a shower, a urinal and a clothes washer, another with just a commode and a sink. Garden The backyard is our outdoor sanctuary. Alberto had set up a covered area with a dining table and chairs. Two lounge chairs were provided for our relaxation and enjoyment. There was also a barbecue set, which we used quite often in the evening. The setting is very private yet open. My teenage daughter loves to sunbathe here while reading her books and enjoying the smooth breeze that often accompanies the Tuscan summer sun. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas The furnishings were clean, nice and simple. The apartment was generally clean when we arrived. There was a bottle of Prosecco as a welcome drink. The living room furniture was comfortable and cozy. The bed were all made when we arrived with extra linens neatly stacked in each room. Bedrooms/Bathrooms The two bedroom apartment was very spacious for our family. There were enough beds for each of us, even when my mother in-law came to visit. Alberto, the owner, had also put in an extra roll out bed in case there was a need. The furnishings were simple and practical. The matrimony room has a full sized bed, a big armoire and a dresser. There were ample drawers to store our clothes and knickknacks. The second bedroom has three single beds, an armoire and a tall dresser. All the bedrooms had night lights and a sitting chair. There were plentiful supplies of extra bed linens, comforters, coverlets, pillow cases and towels of different sizes. Kitchen There was a brand new refrigerator when we were there. It was a good size that would accommodate our weekly groceries. The kitchen was also fully equipped with all the necessary supplies such as pots, pans and baking dishes. The cabinets were filled with a set of dinner china, salad plates, water cups and wine glasses. A toaster, a microwave, a dishwasher and a gas range complete this small and compact kitchen. Other kitchen gadgets include pizza cutters, wine openers, knives, ladles, potato ricer, a kitchen scale and plenty of silverware. There were also enough dish rags and hand towels. There is a small table in the kitchen, which can be used as a work top or a breakfast table. Problems or Bonuses There is no Internet access. However, we signed up with a local telephone store WIND to get a network. It worked well but the speed is slow noting the position of the apartment but enough to read our emails. Having no Internet is not a problem for us, as we wanted to be “unplugged” on this vacation, preferring reading, walking and exploring around the neighborhood instead. Agency and Representatives (and price) Without him knowing, Alberto became our favorite tour guide and local expert. He provided us with surprising insights to some great towns and restaurants. He has maps, local guides to festivals and events, brochures and booklets of nearby attractions. He was also very helpful when my son became sick in the middle of the night. He gave him some fever reducer medication and translated the instructions to English for us. I can’t thank him enough for his kind help. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others? I would recommend this rental apartment. If you love to be surrounded by natural beauty and want a quiet vacation, while still within easy reach to many awesome historical sites, this is the place to stay. Things to do in this area La Pietra Grezza is conveniently located close to the historical city of Florence. We felt spoiled having such easy access to the center of the Renaissance world. We loved exploring all the four sections of Florence and found every museum, church, and palazzo irresistible. The central location of this apartment made it possible for us to explore areas outside of Florence, too. We made many day trips to different towns and cities and were still able to arrive back before 9pm. Cortona, Montalcino, Volterra, San Gimignano, Siena, Montepulciano, Greve in Chianti, Vinci, Prato, and Fiesole are some of the easy trips. We’ve also stretched out our day trips to Lucca, Pisa, Assisi, Deruta, Gubbio, Vada, Viareggio and Monterossa. Norizan from WA

When October 5-12, 2009, one week Location This comfortable apartment is located in a beautiful Tuscan farmhouse, which is very nicely restored, about eight miles south east of Florence - a perfect launching point for traveling to all of the beautiful Chianti villages. We visited Florence, Greve, Rada, Siena, Casteline. San Gimigiano,Lucca and Arrezo - all within a 20 to 60 minute drive - and the driving was as beautiful as any we have done in USA or Europe. The apartment has amazing views of the Tuscan countryside from apartment windows and commanding vistas of the Chianti region from the yard. It is quiet, somewhat isolated (in a good way)and very comfortable. Nearby Amenities A car is needed (unless you are a hiker)as the farmhouse is about one mile up a beautiful winding road that reaches the elevation needed for the wonderful views. The drive up to the house is on a twisty, fairly steep one lane road so good clutch skills will be needed on a standard transmission car. There are small food stores within a few miles, restaurants within 15 minutes. Access to Florence is via 20 minute drive or by taking a bus at the bottom of the hill (a mile from the house), which may be preferred choice because of the lack of parking in Florence. The House/Apartment The apartment furnishings, beds, appliances (dishwasher and clothes dryer) kitchen were all very adequate - nothing fancy but all you would need for a short or long stay is there. Very clean, well cared for. Just one other apartment in the house plus the owner, Alberto Paganis apartment. There is another house nearby, which does not detract form the peacefulness and privacy of this apartment. Garden There is a beautiful private outside patio with grill, table, umbrella. No view but pull your chair around the corner of the house and you look at most of Chianti. Spectacular stars. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas The furniture was all you would want, in good shape, comfortable, nothing fancy but plenty of space to spread out. There were only two of us so the space was way more than adequate. The place would be ideal for two couples. Bedrooms/Bathrooms Bedroom were good sized, comfortable beds, beautiful views out of each, plenty of closet space. Kitchen We cooked four dinners there and found everything we needed including graters, sieves, tomato crushers, etc. Pots and pans are well broken in but work fine. Nice to have dishwasher. Problems or Bonuses We told Alberto he needs to get a WiFi set up - it is, unfortunately, essential for many travelers. The major bonus is Alberto, the owner. He is friendly, welcoming, always available and is truly committed to making your stay enjoyable. We asked a lot of him and he helped us cheerfully and with good humor - a great ambassador for the region! We felt the rates were very reasonable for such a nice place. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others? We would go out of our way to stay here again and have already recommended it to friends. If you want to experience Tuscany at its best at a reasonable cost, this is a great place. Things to do in this area Virtually all of the villages and cities from Florence through the Chianti region are easily reachable, and the connection to the A-1 is about 10 minutes away. by Dudley H from US

The Lilac has been a wonderful country retreat for us this last 6 months. It is up in the Tuscan Hills with beautiful views yet near enough to small villages, towns and Florence to see a great deal of the historic beauty of Italy. The rooms are spacious and well equipped and we had internet in the lounge. We felt safe and secure leaving our doors and windows open and letting the cooling evening breeze lull us to sleep. Alberto, Donatella and their dog Suzy were very helpful and friendly hosts greeting us with a bottle of loacl and wine and their home made jam. They often invited us to eat with them and gave us lifts when we needed them. I would recommend The Lilac to anyone wishing to come to Tuscany it is a very special place in Castello di Bisticci. 5 Ruashi Village Area GolfmD R Congo Africa : Teresa Legg

Our stay at Pietra Grazza was nothing short of fantastic. The apartment we stayed in for 21 delightful days was beautiful and accomodated our family of four perfectly. This was a delightful villa fom which we commenced our travels through Tuscany. The views from every window were a treat to the eyes and our host, Alberto could not have been more accomodating. “A Place You Will Return To...” Reviewed 17 October 2011 Over the last two years we have stayed in La Lilac the top flat at La Pietra Grezza. The first time was for six months so we have seen two of the seasons in Tuscany. The second time was sadly only for 10 days and we wished we were there yet again for six months! It is a place that you dont want to leave and will return to. Alberto and Donatella are wonderful Italians and have become friends to us. They make their own jams and a deadly concoction of berries and Grappa which will knock your socks off. Susi their dog is very friendly and can accompany you on the walks up and down the very steep hill through the olie groves. The views are amazing and the accomodation very comfortable and rustic. The bed in the matrimonial room is one of the best I have ever slept in, with amazing views over the hills fromthe shuttered windows. There is a lot to do in the area, wonderful wine, cheese and foody places and the bus services into Firenze are good. I am hoping to be there yet again next year, I could easily live there forever!

They often invited us to eat with them and gave us lifts when we needed them.
I would recommend The Lilac to anyone wishing to come to Tuscany it is a very special place in Castello di Bisticci.

For the past seven months I've been renting the middle apartment, "Antico Camino." I've only praise for it, and also for Alberto, the owner, who lives in the ground floor apartment of the converted three-storey, 18th C. hunting lodge some 21 km SE of central Florence. Alberto manages to be both extremely helpful and caring of his guests and property, without ever being invasive and nosey. He knows the region well, justifiably loves his home and the Tuscan countryside, and tirelessly keeps the spacious and beautiful grounds in trim. In comparison to the other property for rent on this isolated hilltop, namely, the medieval "castello" across the yard from the hunting lodge, Alberto offers something truly individual and memorable. He and his wife, Donatella, are sincere, very kind people. With a satellite ADSL internet connection in the apartment (and the house as a whole), I've been able to restrict my journeys to Florence, where I've been officially based for research. As and when I have gone in, the local bus service has been faultless (there is a regular service throughout the day, ending at 9 pm with the last bus home from Florence, and the journey takes about 40 mins., depending on traffic). Walking down the hill to reach the bus stop, and then back up the hill when returning from Florence, is not for everyone, as the hill is very steep and long (some 1.3 km) but it's a beautiful walk! (Of course, if you rent a car, which I did when my wife and young son joined me, this walk is no longer a necessity.) Indeed, the house is not for everyone if you want the luxuries of city living, Alberto's apartments are probably not for you. What Alberto offers in "Antico Camino" is unpretentious, unadorned rural living with stunning (truly stunning) views, combined with only certain modern conveniences (ADSL, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge-freezer, cooker and oven, TV, shower, and central heating). More than enough for me and my family (although my wife did lament the rather limited and blunt chopping knives in the kitchen...), but perhaps not for you I am extremely sad to be leaving and I can only hope to return, even if only as a short-term holidaymaker.

2bed/1.5bath apartment near Cellai, Tuscany Chianti
________________________________________
When
October 5ᆠ, 2009, one week
Location
This comfortable apartment is located in a beautiful Tuscan farmhouse, which is very nicely restored, about eight miles south east of Florence - a perfect launching point for traveling to all of the beautiful Chianti villages.
Nearby Amenities
A car is needed (unless you are a hiker)as the farmhouse is about one mile up a beautiful winding road that reaches the elevation needed for the wonderful views.
The House/Apartment
The apartment furnishings, beds, appliances (dishwasher and clothes dryer) kitchen were all very adequate - nothing fancy but all you would need for a short or long stay is there. Very clean, well cared for. Just one other apartment in the house plus the owner, Alberto Pigani's apartment. There is another house nearby, which does not detract form the peacefulness and privacy of this apartment.
Garden
There is a beautiful private outside patio with grill, table, umbrella. No view but pull your chair around the corner of the house and you look at most of Chianti. Spectacular stars.
Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas
The furniture was all you would want, in good shape, comfortable, nothing fancy but plenty of space to spread out. There were only two of us so the space was way more than adequate. The place would be ideal for two couples.
Bedrooms/Bathrooms
Bedroom were good sized, comfortable beds, beautiful views out of each, plenty of closet space.
Kitchen
We cooked four dinners there and found everything we needed including graters, sieves, tomato crushers, etc. Pots and pans are well broken in but work fine. Nice to have dishwasher.
Problems or Bonuses
We told Alberto he needs to get a WiFi set up - it is, unfortunately, essential for many travelers.
Things to do in this area
Virtually all of the villages and cities from Florence through the Chianti region are easily reachable, and the connection to the Aǃ is about 10 minutes away.

2bed/1.5bath apartment near Cellai, Tuscany Chianti

When
June - August 2009, 9 weeks
Location
Perched high above the north facing hillside of Tuscany’s Chianti Valdarno hills, La Pietra Grezza commands a beautiful view of the valley below.
Nearby Amenities
There are not too many stores in the town of Cellai.
The House/Apartment
The general interior of the apartment is typical Tuscan with an exposed beams ceiling, cotto tiled floor and plaster walls.
Garden
The backyard is our outdoor sanctuary.
Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas
The furnishings were clean, nice and simple. The apartment was generally clean when we arrived. There was a bottle of Prosecco as a welcome drink. The living room furniture was comfortable and cozy. The bed were all made when we arrived with extra linens neatly stacked in each room.
Bedrooms/Bathrooms
The two bedroom apartment was very spacious for our family.
Kitchen
There was a brand new refrigerator when we were there.
Problems or Bonuses
There is no Internet access.
Agency and Representatives (and price)
Without him knowing, Alberto became our favorite tour guide and local expert.
Things to do in this area
La Pietra Grezza is conveniently located close to the historical city of Florence.

When
June-August 2007, 3 months
Location
The location was perfect.
Nearby Amenities
You must have a car to live here. It is only a short drive down the hill to the alimentari for groceries, gas, etc. There is a large grocery only 10ᆣ min. away in Incisa (a Coop). The local alimentari ordered an English paper for us and had it available each morning.
The House/Apartment
The apartment was lovely. They provided all the kitchen equipment we needed, plus towels and linens. It is furnished with the basics, including a small television, though we did not use it much with all there was to do. There were two bedrooms, and two baths, a living and dining area combined, and a small kitchen. The views from all of the windows were amazing.
Garden
We had a private outdoor area where we spent a lot of time.
Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas
The apartment was very clean upon arrival.
Bedrooms/Bathrooms
The beds were comfortable. The bedrooms were furnished with beds, dressers, and a large closet. The large bathroom was modern, with a bath with shower. We always had hot water. The small bath had only a toilet and sink.
Kitchen
There was a brand new range which I used every day.
There is a large refrigerator and a new dishwasher.
Problems or Bonuses
The only inconvenience was not having internet access. It is available in the office, but I would not have wanted to use it except for an emergency.
Agency and Representatives (and price)
Alberto and his wife, Donatella, were the best part of our visit.
Things to do in this area
Trips to Siena, San Gimignano, Greve in Chianti, San Donato in Poggio, Florence, Citerna...the list goes on and on.

Recommended. Review by Elle from Australia : La Pietra Grezza, Lilac Apartment
2bed/1.5bath apartment near Cellai, Tuscany Chianti
________________________________________
When
July - August, 2006, 4 weeks
Location
La Pietra Grezza in Bisticci is approximately 20km south-east of Florence and is near the top of a hill approximately 1.5km up from the main road.
Nearby Amenities
The nearest village is Cellai, approximately 1.5km away.
The House/Apartment
La Pietra Grezza comprises three stories and has recently been restored.
Garden
We had our own private garden area with two banana lounges, sun umbrella and covered outdoor eating area with small barbecue.
Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas
The Lilac apartment was very comfortable and well-furnished. There was nothing we lacked.
Bedrooms/Bathrooms
Our bedroom had a very large double bed and also a single.
Kitchen
The kitchen was well-equipped and we enjoyed preparing meals there.
Problems or Bonuses
No surprises - just a very pleasant and happy four weeks.
Agency and Representatives (and price)
We booked directly with Alberto, the owner, and from the time of our initial inquiry we were given much kindness and courtesy.
Things to do in this area
We preferred bus and train travel in Italy and while in Tuscany found it very easy to use both of these methods to see so many beautiful parts - San Gimignano, Siena, Cinque Terre, the lovely Mugello area - and so many days just spent wandering in Florence.
Florence in August was very crowded and it was always a delight to escape the city and come 'home' to the country at the end of the day.
