Other places in Sciacca
Review by Anthony from Bexhill on Sea
Sciacca is a bustling and somewhat chaotic town with a north African feel. Steeped in history, Sciacca offers a magnificent basilica and numerous churches, the remains of the ancient walled city and castle, fascinating alleyways running up and down, lots of steps, ceramic art, attractive palm-lined pizzas, beautiful views, various good quality restaurants, abundant seafood, and so much more. Driving around is a challenge however, with scooters darting around everywhere, and general traffic chaos at peak times. A few bars and restaurants, as well as most supermarket cashiers not very tourist friendly. Sciacca is surrounded by lovely beaches, with spectacular beaches within 30 mins drive in either direction: the nature reserve in Marinella di Selinunte to the west, and Eraclea Minoa to the East.
