We arrived at the end of March for the Easter holiday and thought we had landed in the Outer Hebrides! The welcome from Guiseppe more than made up for the cold climate and he guided us to the villa set amidst an olive grove high above the little town of Scopello.
To say there was a "meal" on arrival was an understatement as the was a banquet that lasted us for two evening meals, and it was delicious!
Guiseppe was an excellent host indeed taking the time and trouble the following morning to give us a guided tour of Palermo. He was always on hand at the end of the phone if ever we had any query about the property.
I should imagine the best time to visit would be when the weather is a little warmer and you can make the most of the extensive outdoor living area. That being said the villa was extremely cosy and even from inside had the most magical views. There were also very few tourists about, which I imagine will not be the case in high summer.
We spent the week exploring Sicily, and the location of the villa a 7 minute drive to the main road/ motorway network meant that we were able to do day trips as far afield as Agrigento, for the amazing Greek Temples, easily in a day.
The villa itself is extremely well equipped. We tended to eat out during the day then cook our own meals in the evenings enjoying a pre-dinner drink, admiring the views over the Gulf of Castellamare. We can highly recommend the harbour side restaurants in Castellamare, excellent food and picturesque setting, only a 10 minute drive away.
We have no hesitation in recommending this villa and the generosity of its owner Guiseppe!

If you want to feel the real spirit of Sicily life this villa is the best choice you can make ?
For village vacation cozy authentique style of the villa is much better then any modern designed apartments.
Your mornings you can start with strawberry, Prosseco and fantastic view of Tyrrhenian Sea and your evenings can be spend in the patio of the villa with an amaizing barbeque (all the facilities: wood, dishes, spices are included). Hammoch, which is also at your disposal, is an effective therapy for the hard working people. Villa is comfortible for 4 max 5 people. It has basic goods like sugar, salt, coffe/tea, pasta, some spices… It is quite important in case of late arrival and short vacation. There you can find a lot of Sicily guids in any languages, so it helps you to check you touristic plan additionally. Free Wi-Fi you can find in Castellommare del Golfij restaurants or you can buy local sim for mobile Internet. Fan, towels, soaps and so on are also availible. Villa is situated on a hill, so you will need a car for sure. By the way, all good villas are situated on a picturesq hills in a 5-10 min of car way from the city.
Main plus of this villa is it’s owner. He is hospitable, intelligent and very possitive person who can help you to orient in Sicily, its history, traditions and morals.
Owner reply:
Andrey, thanks for the wonderful review, and I hope to have you again in my house. I am happy you've managed to capture the true spirit in which I receive my customers. The owners usually they are the first people they meet when they arrive in a new place, therefore it needs we y must make sure to put customers at ease and offer them the peace and privacy they need, and try to inform them about the habits, the uses and traditions of this beautiful land that is Sicily

I think the other reviews have summed this up so well, but everything was so right I have to add my own. Yes, the situation is superb, the views are incredible and its true, the photos dont quite do it justice. It works well for a family, with a range of shady and sunny spots, including a variety of places for eating (not to mention the outdoor kitchen) in the gorgeous and beautifully planted outdoor area. The villa, with traditional rustic decoration, is comfortable inside and has all the equipment you might need - with the hobs and the barbecue its pretty easy to get around the small oven. You have space away from it all and its peaceful and secluded yet you are within easy reach of restaurants, supermarkets, beaches, interesting sight-seeing etc. Giuseppe the owner gave a welcome (together with delicious and generous food) which exceeded my expectations by a long shot and Im sure will be rarely matched. A text during our stay directed us to a local festival we would otherwise not have been aware of. If youre thinking seriously about this villa for a holiday then go for it!

This villa is in a superb location the views are stunning! Plenty of out door space with sun or shade. In a private location halfway up the hill, so you can feel away from it all but its still only 10 minutes to a great little supermarket with a super deli and butchers and a further five minutes to some great resteraunts in Scopello. The inside of the villa is well appointed and comfortable. the style of the kitchen is rustic but it suits the property and is well equiped although the oven is small. Guiseppe the owner is very welcoming, but will leave you to get on with your holiday. The villa is in a great corner of Sicilly and it can be hard to move away from the views to explore. A superb place to relax and get away from it all

We had a fantastic Christmas holidays staying in this wonderful house. The reality is even better than the photos. It is a perfect place for a secluded vacation with family you don’t see or hear your neighbors. The territory is well appointed. The villa is like home from home. You will find everything that is usually used in your own country house (salt, sugar, spaghetti, olio, coffee, tea, wine, toys, games etc.)
Giuseppe is very lovely and helpful . I liked very much, how the house was decorated for Christmas.
We arrived late and were very grateful for welcome dinner. I would not hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone wishing to visit Sicily.

We had a great time at Villa Cecilia. It has a cosy traditional Scicilian interior and a view which is simply spectacular, overlooking the Golfo di Castellammare. The hospitality of our host Giuseppe was truly remarkable. This place comes highly reccomended.
