Lovley villa, very relaxing. Staff fabulous. High standard of cleanliness throughout. The only downside is that the villa is out of the way and transport is essential.

perfection!
Travel date: July 2009
Me, my wife and our two sons (7 + 12 years) had a stay (half board) for two weeks in Villa Annchen Mtwapa Creek, nearby Bamburi Beach and Shanzu Beach. The Villa is situated straight to the ocean, with a bombastic view of the creek and a direct access (through steps) to a small natural beach enclosed with a lovely tropical vegetation.
The guest rooms ..... are gorgeous furnished with handmade African furniture and surly very clean. Towel s and lining are of superb quality and -of course- ever room had a bathroom en suite. ........ Absolute great: Lobster grilled (topped with a very tasty garlic butter) and all fish dishes. The atmosphere is very privat and the staff (a special thanks to the house manger -a lady-) is really caretaking and well trained.
Absolute unique because of the natural stone tiles and oversize and in top condition + direct view of the mtwapa creek is the swimming pool. You really get the feeling of swimming inside the ocean! For me and my wife to get a ‘time out’ from the family life was possible as well.
We had some enjoyable evenings inside the exiting night life of Mombasa North Coast - the house manager agreed to be the nanny ( of course a tip was be given) -.
We really appreciate Villa Annchen as a perfect retreat offering luxury accommodation in a excellent position on the Kenya Coast.

“Charming and romantic creek-front getaway with a gorgeous pool!”
Date of review: Feb 27, 2011
Villa Annchen was the perfect weekend getaway about a 45-minute drive north of Mombasa. The service was excellent, food delicious (the fresh seafood is well worth the additional cost!), and the Swahili decor charming (Rasmus designed the entire villa and all the furniture within himself!). But my favorite feature of Villa Annchen is the gorgeous pool overlooking the creek - perfect for a cool dip after a long, hot day.

“A great, friendly place to relax, with a beautiful view, unique stone pool, and a well kept garden.”
Date of review: Oct 16, 2010
A beautiful villa, with a unique, clean stone pool overlooking a ravine. Close to all amenities. An excellent place to go for relaxing and enjoying a pool, without all the crowds. There are 4 rooms - a perfect place to go with a small group. Very private, with beautiful gardens (and some visiting monkeys too). The staff are very accommodating, and the meals are very good, with organically grown vegetables coming from their own garden.

“Very good stay”
Date of review: Oct 3, 2010
The Villa is on the north coast area. There is a housekeeper, (Rebecca), Cook, Guard with dogs (mandatory here) and grounds keeper. Very good place to stay at. The Beach is a five minute drive away at the White Sands Hotel (Cost is KSHS 1500.00 each which includes full buffet and beach access/restrooms. I wouldnt go to the public beach unless you want to be hastled by the vendors.
Fully furnished villa, get price for entertaining as well. The only issue was it is quite a distance from the main road-The Mombasa-Malindo Highway, but then thats a good thing, so you will need a taxi to take you back and forth to Mombasa or Malindi. Good luck and enjoy your stay.
