I love this place.... So much so that we went back for a 2nd year!
Fantastic location, beautiful property, amazing views & in a great city. The property is in a quiet location but close to everything. It has all the essential amenities (excluding internet or a tv - but they are nice not to have sometimes!) for an easy stay. Friendly neighbours & safe area. Great value for money, especially compared to hotels or other flats in the area.
Nicola & her man Said in Essaouria are both helpful, responsive & knowledgeable. Their suggestions & recommendations both in the house information book & direct from Said are excellent. The cleaner is efficient & regular.

We found the property to be well maintained and enjoyed some of the well chosen decorative touches that added to the Moroccan ambience. The interior is a very welcome haven from the frenzy outside! Its probably worth pointing out that we stayed here during Ramadam with the result that it was quite noisy during the night when the locals are all up and about and socialising. I am sure it would be much quieter outside of this period. Said offered some very helpful guidance on our arrival and Samira was also very helpful.

This is the second time we have stayed at Dar Nicola, and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay both times. The house is a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the medina. Said the manager and SAmira the housekeeper are very friendly and helpful and will do anything for you!! Hopefully we will be back a third time next year.

We have just had a wonderful stay at Dar Nicola, the house is great,spacious and really well equipped and lovely decor. We would definitely recommend a stay at this house, we will be back!!!!

Dar Nicola was a lovely place to stay, made better by Said our contact and Samira our housekeeper. The house was immaculate and well equipped there was nt a single thing that we needed , a lovely place for self catering ensuring we had a lovely break.

Dar Nicola is a lovely house close to the souk but offers a quiet peaceful retreat. We had a great holiday here and loved having breakfast on the terrace and then exploring Essoauira and the surroundign area. Said and Saima were wonderful hosts and a great support.

This is a lovely property, very airy and well-furnished and handy for the town and the beach. We had a very relaxing stay here and Fatima cooked us delicious tagine and cous cous three times, which we really enjoyed. The bedrooms are all lovely and the kitchen well-equipped but our only complaint was that the living area is not very big for six and it is also a bit of a squeeze around the table for six. The roof terrace was a bit grubby too.
However, it is still really good value and a great place to chill out.

The terrace has just been re painted this week, but as the house is so near the coast the elements do take their toll.we refresh the terrace twice yearly. It has always been commented that the living area is large and airy with plenty of space,so we are I little shocked by the comment!

Dar Nicola is a wonderful house in the most beautiful location. The views from the terrace are superb and the house has all the charm of being in the old medina but with the tranquility of the ocean views.
Said, Samira and Fatima are wonderful people who looked after us all very well and Fatimas tangines were extremely tasty. Our six year old loved the location of the house and all the medina cats !
The pictures dont do the house justice, it needs to be seen to truly appreciate the decor and space.
Communication with Nicola was fanstatic from start to finish and we will definitely be back !!

Weve just enjoyed a fantastic week at Dar Nicola, thanks to Nicola who organised our transfers and to Said and Samira who really looked after us during our stay. We had a fabulous holiday. The riad was charming and close to everywhere we wanted to go. The service was excellent: picked up at the airport and great maid service not to mention Saids advice and tips. Even the boy next door was a delight. Many thanks to all concerned.

Right from the beginning Nicola was amazing in helping us organise our stay in Essaouira, promptly answering any questions we had and organising a taxi from Marrakech for us. When we arrived at the house it was stunning and exactly as described. Very comfortably furnished and the double level roof terrace got a lot of use. Being two couples we appreciated the space the house was able to provide and was a real retreat to return to after a day of sight seeing. Said was incredibly helpful and approachable and Samira kept the house clean and tidy during our stay. Her tagines come highly recommended. Essaouira was just brilliant. Im not sure what I expected but the place is stunning, felt like home after only a day and the people are very friendly. I have already recommended this house to other people!

We have just a fantasic few days at Dar Nicola,the house is in a really good location and is so spacious and light and airy, the terrace is perfect. The house just minutes away from all the shops and restaurants and really close to the lovely beach where there are loads of water sport facilities and beach cafes.
Said and Samira looked after us so well. we will be back and would recommend Dar nicola to everyone.

We had a fabulous stay at Dar Nicola. The house is decorated so beautifully and really well equipped. We were there with two small children and initially worried about all the stairs, but with all the doors, we managed to keep them safe. Said and Samira looked after us wonderfully I can only recommend Samiras tagines which we had almost every night. We loved the town itself and there was lots to see with children. We will definitely be back!!

As our house is situated over 3 levels,we do have quite a few stairs but the house has been designed that each level has a door at each stairway which can be closed off for safety with young children if required.

A lovely house that is perfect for a family of 4, with young children, as there are two bedrooms on the same floor. The house is spacious, comfortable, and well-located within the medina with quick access to the beach. More importantly, it is situated in a quiet area with a lovely rooftop terrace where we enjoyed wonderful breakfasts every morning. The hosue manager and cleaning lady were very friendly and helpful and responded to all our needs quickly and efficiently. A suggestion or two for improvement is that it would be more pleasant for the rooftop terrace to have a little more shade (perhaps another parasol) and it would be helpful to have a sink with hand-washing soap on the first floor in addition to the toilet that is there, where there are 2 bedrooms (and where we chose to sleep). Overall, our family enjoyed our stay at Dar Nicola very much and we highly recommend it to others!

we have now built a shelter on the terrace which provides shade from the sun-we also have 2 sunloungers up on the terrace.

We have just retruned from a lovely holiday in Essaouira and cannot praise Dar Nicola highly enough. The property is the perfect base for exploring the Medina, yet is also close to the beach. We also found it very peaceful as it is situated in a quiet lane so, all in all, in a perfect spot. Said and Fatima were really helpful and were always on hand should we have needed them.
Dar Nicola is clean, well equipped and furnished with homely Morrocan touches that made the place really comfortable and welcoming and the roof terrace really added to the whole experience. I would highly recommend this property to everyone.

We stayed at Dar Nicola for two weeks at the end of June from the 21st until the 1st of July with four of us staying.
The house was wonderful, three floors of lovely furnishings topped off with a great size roof terrace leading to another small one. The kitchen was well equiped for self catering and the two bathrooms (one just a toilet) were very useful indeed. The bedrooms (two doubles and one with two singles) were a good size, especially the one downstairs and the beds were very comfy with all bedding, towels etc provided.
Finding the place was easy, I simply rang Said the house manager when we knew what time we would be arriving and he met us from the bus and showed us the house and gave a thorough overview of Essaouira including good places to eat etc.
The house is located within the city walls so easy to get to everything including the beach etc.
Great place to stay, quiet area, even during the festival, great value for money, very helpful manager, cleaner and house owner, hope we will be back!

Me and 4 friends have just had a fantastic week at DAR NICOLA-its a gorgeous house minutes from everything in the medina and very near the beach-where we spent time learning new watersports!the house is really well equipped and really spacious with 2 fantastic terraces-we cant reccommend enough!!!thanks to Nicola, Said,Fatima for making our stay so good!!

'Dar Nicola' is a lovely spacious,safe house, it is furnished beautifully.My husband,children and myself had a wonderful time. Many thanks to Fatima the cleaner and Said the manager who are genuine lovely people and really looked after us.Thanks also to Nicola who arranged taxis transfers for us before our arrival-you have a lovely place!!

Essaouira is a fantastic little town full of character and lots of places to explore.'Dar Nicola' is a perfect place to stay,minutes away from everything the medina has to offer and minutes walk from the port and the beautiful beach where we did some windsurfing at a really reasonable price. The house is extremely quiet and has an attractive decor throughout with lots of homely touches and a well equipped kitchen leading out to a wonderful private terrace.We would definately reccommend a stay in 'Dar Nicola'.

Dar Nicola has been renovated to a really high standard-we all loved the style and decoration inside the house, every room has a different feel.couldn't believe how quiet and peaceful the house was,but so near to the hustle and bustle of the main streets in the medina.fantastic totally private terraces.A real haven.we hope to be back soon.

A beautiful house, close to all the attractions of Essaouira. The property has two roof terraces, with fantastic views of the town as far as the ocean. The property has been stunningly renovated, complete with local artefacts.

My friends and I have just returned from a fantastic holiday in Essaouira. We all had an awesome time and cannot recommend "Dar Nicola" highly enough. The property is in a perfect location and is superbly furnished aswell as very spacious and comfortable. Said, the manager and Fatima, the cleaner were both very friendly and very helpful and after a very enjoyable meal out with Said, we became very knowledgable about the local culture and surrounding area.
We all had the time of our lives and am sure will revisit in the future.

We have just returned from a fab holiday in Essaouira staying at Dar Nicola. The house was perfect, we loved everything about it- it was really interesting, spacious,decorated in a really cool way with loads of rugs, lanterns and special little things which gave the house a homely feel!!!.The 2 terraces were fantastic, with great views and perfect leading out from the kitchen.
We were located down a lovely little quiet street, but minutes walk from shops and restaurants and 5 minutes from the beach and definately in the best side of the Medina, as parts of the Medina are a little worse for wear!!
Thanks to Said-the house manager for being so helpful and giving us loads of ideas of places to eat and visit. We would definately recommend a stay at Dar Nicola.

My family and i have have just stayed at 'Dar Nicola' for a week and have had a fantastic time. Said the house manager was lovely and extremely helpful and Fatima the cleaner kept the house spotless during our stay. The house is beautifully renovated and decorated, it's also really spacious and in a great location- i don't think the pictures on the website do the house justice!!
The house is on a quiet street amongst local homes which gives a real authentic feel, but just minutes from both Essaouira beach and the hustle and bustle of the souk and cafes and restaurants in the medina. It was great to have the private terraces,where we enjoyed breakfast each day and watched the sun set each night and we loved the kitchen leading out onto the terrace. I can't recommend this house enough.We will be back!!
