Fantastic views and a well equipped house, with the owner Rafael being very friendly and helpful. We were left in peace and even given charge of cleaning the pool with clear instructions and a good demo. It was very easy to do. Nearby Competa has some restaurants - our favourite was El Pilar with its varied cuisine. Nearby Canillas is a quick walk and although its supermarkets are small, they are surprisingly well stocked. The place is quite private in feel although it has a nearby house or two. The road from the motorway is not an issue and quite a pleasure to drive - an even more interesting and beautiful drive is the road to Torrox. I think well be back - particularly for those views !!!

Fantastic pool, big private grounds full of fresh figs, almonds, lemons. Easy uphill walk to village with small shops and places to eat.( Antonios is best). Villa is simple but had everything we needed. Views stunning, amazing sunsets. Rafael was really helpful and thoughtful. Spent most of the holiday relaxing by the pool but also drove to Granada. Road up to villa from motorway is steep and winding so best tackled first time in daylight but dont let that put you off if you are looking to get away from the crowds. We had a perfect time

Owner reply:
Dear Mrs& Mr. Bleakley:
Thank you so much for your review of the house. Iam very pleased you enjoyed your holidays and the house exceeded your expectations. Will try to plant some tomatoes, peppers and aubergines next summer and hope the ghuests can irrigate them during their stay and take the crop.
Best regards.

My family and I returned from Casa Rafa this week and had an excellent stay. Found everything to be as advertised, very clean, well equipped, including the washing powder and dish washer tablets! Well done Rafael!. Well situated with excellent views, however it is a half an hour drive from the motorway up narrow winding lanes up to the villa and the same half hour journey down each time you wished to have a day out. Excellent if you are going to the villa and just intend staying close to the villa or the two small villages surrounding it, to which you can get everything you need from the two supermarkets in each village which are very well stocked. Found that both the villages are popular with English people seeking the same type of holiday. Would have no hesitation of recommending Casa Rafa or the villages Competa/Canillas de Albaida to holiday in.

Casa Rafa was everything we were looking for. It was secluded and peaceful yet within a 10 minute walk of all the amenities. The one thing we werent expecting was the view. From the terrace, which gets the sun from around 11am to sunset, the view is stunning. All the way down the valley to the sea. Rafael was very helpful with directions and local information as well as kidly giving us a lovely bottle of Competa wine.

If you want a relaxing holiday this villa is ideal, Quiet location with breathtaking views . Rafael was very accommodating ensuring that all our needs were met. He even waited to greet us although we were delayed and didnt get to the villa until the early hours. The pool was very inviting each day as the weather was almost 40degrees, although with the mountain breeze it was very bearable. We had a barbeque a couple of evenings and ate al fresco, we were amazed that there didnt seem to be any mosquitos. We were a party of 4 adults and 2 children and although we didnt leave the villa other than to shop for supplies of water etc we were very very satified with our holiday and would highly recommend this villa-even though the mountain roads to villa can be very hairy at times
