from the initial stages of booking to the meet and greet everything was handled is an extremely professional and efficient manner.
the house was light, airy, beautifully warm (which is extemely important on a ski holiday) an offered excellent facilities through out.
location was perfect. right in the centre of the village and equally convenient for reaching both the slopes and granada (for the two non skiers in the group).
we loved the modernness of the apartment, the underground car park and all round suitability for ski holiday accommodation.

We had a great stay at El Laredo Grande during May, 2011. The apartment was great and the location was spectacular. Guejar Sierra is a small town about 30 minutes from Granada. The apartment is within a short walking distance from the center of the town. There are a number of restaurants, two small grocery markets, two pastry shops and a number of other small shops. There is bus service to Granada from the town center and the apartment has secure underground parking in the building. The views from the apartment are incredible. Driving through the town is an exciting experience. The streets are barely wide enough for one car but they are actually two way streets which requires careful timing and good backing up skills. Luckily there is very little traffic in town!
The apartment is fully equipped - it has a great kitchen, comfortable beds, indoor and outdoor dining areas and air conditioning. The wifi service is a little spotty but it worked well enough for us.
Denise was great to work with - the booking process was extremely easy and we handled all the payments through PayPal which was hassle free.
I highly recommend the apartment - we had a great stay and would love to return.

We had a very nice time in Guejar. The appartment was well furnished + a parking lot. We loved the area, Guejar is a phantastic location if you like mountains and great sceneries. Did lots of road trips into the surrounding valleys of the Sierra Nevada.
La Hacilla was our favorite restaurant - good food, very nice people there, good prices.
Granada was just around the corner with all the highlights, a car is essential though. I would always come back to Guejar Sierra - nice, quiet, enough infrastructure to get by, friendly people and very Spanish (that is, hardly any tourists).

Booking worked out well and easy over email. Key delivery though later in the evening was not a problem at all. We were personally guided through the narrow streets of Güejar (happy enough not having booked a bigger car). Three bedrooms, a cosy living room and a terrace with a great view over the mountains and the village. More than enough space for 6 people. Maybe just a bit more empty space in the cabinets and a few more coat hooks would be helpful especially if you go skiing every day. The apartment is located further up the hill but only about 5 minutes from the center of the village. It is a 40 minutes drive to Pradollano the skiing resort and worth every kilometer. Güejar was probably the best choice we could make. Not touristic at all, but nice little bars and very friendly people.

Appartment booked by family with three teenagers.
Great base for various trips in a beautiful part of Spain:
Sierra Nevada (e.g. climb to peak Veleta), walking in Natural park, swimming at Camping Las Lomas or at waterpark aquaola in Cenes de la Vega, visit to alhambra/Granada.
Big appartment, luxureous kitchen and two bath-rooms, nice terrace (partly covered). Very friendly welcome on first day. Quiet place. Tip: rent a car to get around (Helle Hollis)

Everything perfect
The apartment is really cosy and the village is lovely.
Its a very authentic spanish village with good tapas and nice people.
Skistation is quite near (aprox. 30 min).
The only thing is that you should not be afraid of driving curves, hehe.
Great holidays!
Thank you for everything

God placering
Dejlig lejlighed placeret i en hyggelig lille bjergby med nem adgang til såvel en tur i bjergene som ture til omkringliggende større og mindre byer. Uspoleret af turisme og fantastik natur.

Nice Appartment
We went to Sierra Nevada to do some skiing and also went to the coast for a couple of days. We really enjoyed staying in Guejar Sierra, its a nice unspoiled little village and people is very helpful with a high degree of hospitality. We can recommend this area.

We have recently returned from a wonderful holiday at El Ladero Grande. We really liked the the property and the area and found it to be extremely peaceful and a retreat we were much looking for. What we specifically liked about the trip was
*The accommodation was well-equipped and very clean
*The pre-holiday communication and support from Denise was spot on and very up-to-date
*The area of Guejar Sierra was exactly as descibed
*The keyholders were very helpful and even when we got lost, they texted us with specific directions
We really enjoyed our stay and would most definitely go back in the future.

We really enjoyed our stay in El Ladero Grande. Guejar Sierra is a great location for seeing the Sierra Nevada and the local people are very friendly. We couldnt find fault with the apartment, which was lovely - comfortable and well-equipped and beautifully decorated. We really appreciated the fabulous views across the valley and the regular bus service into Granada. Were sure well be back as we still have some unfinished business with the local walks! Both wish we were still there now!

What a wonderful week in the Lecrin Valley and as luck would have it we were here for Fiesta Week. Woke up the first morning to the sound of what we thought was quarry blasting - it wasn't, just the fireworks (rocket bangs) signalling the start of festivities. Felt very privileged to be here at this time & will always have fond memories of the Sangria party in Barrio Bajo Square, the dance until 3.00am (& beyond) and the 'guy' letting the rockets off by hand! The house has been a great base for exploring the Valley and beyond - not to be missed are the Alhambra, Alpujarras and the carp swimming in the Beznar Dam.
The Sun terrace is magnificent with the views down the gorge and a chance to spot an eagle (or 2). A great way to spend our 20th anniversary.

Hi Denise,
Just got home this evening after a great holiday. Everything went really well & the apartment was super.
We would love to return to Guejar Sierra, I’ve not met such a friendly bunch for ages. Elina was very helpful with her advice on places to shop & eat. (Please apologise to her on my behalf, the kids tell me I walked right past her one evening without saying hello. I can only think I was taking every thing else in & didn’t see her).
The skiing was great!
Thanks,
Jim
