Very clean and well equipped apartment, lovely sun soaked terrace with plenty of room for the kids to play and only 5 minute walk to the beach. Familty of 4 holiday enjoyed by all. LAzohia is a lovely quiet place and so are the beaches. It is close to Mazarron, only a 10 minute drive away, which has a lovely marina and beach. The children went to the pool twice a day and it was quiet each time.

We booked this apartment with fantastic views for friends and the apartment next door for their friends. Both parties had a fantastic time together especially in the pool. The stone BBQ, large dining table, sun loungers and terrace shower in Lalibela are perfect for entertaining and relaxing. There are loads of glasses, plates and serving dishes.
The younger people in the group found night life that we never knew about, so there is something for everyone in La Azohia. It is an excellent location to relax and lie in the sun with the beach 2 minutes walk away. The 3 local beach bars stay open day and night serving cocktails at 4.5 Euros for huge measures. Local caught fish on the menu at every restaurant. Everyone was very sad to have to leave!

I really enjoyed our stay in late February/ early March, and found the property to have all practical considerations factored in. The apartment was clean, the kitchen was great and the roof terrace was just lovely. Only thing that was not quite "me" was it was bit too overlooked by the other properties on the complex. However, as we were there at a quiet time, it was a peaceful holiday and would certainly consider going back again at the same time of year, as it was very comfortable and good value for money.

very well set out, the roof terrace was exe cellent,
every thing that was needed, was there.
the only problem, where the coackroaches, which seemed to come from the apartment below, which seemed dirty, and looked like it had not been used for a long time. that apart everything was spot on.

Lovely and homely with everything we needed. Home from home. We really wanted timeout and relaxation.
It was very quiet and relaxing, stunning scenery and sea views.
If you wanted to have a night out and about it was 15 mins away.
We loved it and will certainly go back.

We had another wonderful holiday at your appartment. As it was a weekday we did a big shop in Carrefour in Cartagena, it is so big in there, you get carried away with the choice! Anyway we arrived late at your appartment, but it meant that we could relax the next day without having to think about shopping.
The month of May is completely different to September, the colours are fresh, there is lots of green and even the palm trees look fresher! The night temperatures are much cooer, which makes sleeping easier, but there is a strong wind that starts around midday and although it feels quite nice, you can be deceived that the sun is strong and feel the effects by the evening...in sunburn! For us the only disadvantage was the sea temperature. Back in September it was like a warm bath, this time it was cold and as we like snorkeling and bring our own equipment, we did not get in to use it very much. We did get in on four occasions, but not for long, though we did see quite a lot of fish, not as many as September, then they come close to the shore. The sea temperature does rise quickly enough and by the end of our holiday we could feel it warmer.
This time we got more sightseeing in. We went to CARTAGENA for an afternoon and took a trip on the boat that goes around the harbour. There was only another couple on board, so we had it all to ourselves. For 5.50 Euros each it is great value, you would not get anything as cheap in this country. The commentary was very good, they played it in English also and the history is very interesting. The trip took 40 minutes and was very interesting. Each time we go through Cartagena there is always road works, with very badly signed diversions, so I think we know the back streets quite well now!
We also went to SIERRA ESPUNA and up to the SANTA HOTEL, former monastery, where we had a beautiful Sunday lunch. Menu del Dia is not at the weekend and when we saw the posh restaurant we thought it would be very expensive, but we were very surprised with the value and the meat was beautifully cooked. We did not manage to try the desert....maybe next time! Then we walked up to the statue and the stunning views around.
We made great use of the solarium, where we spend most of our time when we are at your appartment. There is more hours of sunlight in May than September and I think the sunsets were better. The complex was very quite, which is just what we like.
Your appartment was as clean and beautiful as ever and we had a relaxing two weeks. We did notice the new front door with mosquito net which is great and keeps bugs of the flying and walking nature out and we noticed that the solarium table and chairs were freshly stained.
I think that is all for now. Pamela looked after us as always. MAY 2010

We had such a wonderful relaxing time in your beautiful apartment in La Azohia. The sun shone every day and many an hour was spent lying on the roof, reading, sunbathing, bbq-ing and enjoying the peace & quiet. The apartment was just as described, if not better, modern, clean, comfortable and felt more like a home than other places Ive stayed in. We enjoyed looking through all the information left my past guests and found lots to keep us amused on our day trips. The Big Guns really are big and we really enjoyed snorkelling a little further down the coast ~ such crystal clear water and lots of fish!
Thanks again, Amy & Paul

We just got back from La Azohia and had the best holidays we ever had! It was magical...
The flat is perfect, beautifully decorated and has got everything that you need.
The El Pinar de San Gines complex is very peaceful, high in the mountains with magnificent sea views, we had breakfast on the roof every morning taking in the quietness and the marvelous surroundings... The kids were happy to play and run around and enjoyed a freedom well deserved coming from busy London!
And La Azohia belongs to another world, life is slower, easier, people are generous and helpful.
How can you not spend your days smiling when youre in the middle of such a beautiful preserved part of Spain! (you have got to do the "big g

We have returned from a wonderful 12 days in La Azohia staying in the spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated Lalibela appartment. Before we started our holiday Margaret was very thoughtful and sent us useful information and answered our questions, so we had an idea about the area.
We hired a car at the airport and this we would highly recommend.
The appartment is compact, but very well equipted and the outstanding feature has to be the solarium. We ate all our meals there, looking out over the Mediterranean. This was certainly the restaurant with the best view. We barbequed most evenings and bought fresh fish in the pescadaria in Isla Plana and local wine from the nearby Bodega Molina, where we were allowed to sample the wine before buying. We also sunbathed and spent a lot of time relaxing on the solarium. The clean and refreshingly cool pool, in the complex, provided many opportunities for swims.
We brought our own snorkel equipment and one highlight of the holiday was our snorkelling. Quite near the beaches we saw the most beautiful fish and with clear waters and sunshine it was amazing. It was like something in a nature programme.
The walk along the palm lined promenade to La Azohia harbour and the walk to Isla Plana, became favourites.
For a big grocery shop we recommend going to the Upper supermarket in Puerto de Mazarron, there is also a Mercadoma and Lidl there and the Saturday market in Mazarron provided us with cheap, delicious fresh fruit and nuts.
We also recommend the Chara restuarant in Isla Plana, where the four course Menu del Dia, which included a bottle of wine and water, was both delicious and excellent value for money.
We did do a bit of sightseeing, to the Big Guns in Cabo Tinoso and Bolneuvo Beach, but there is plenty more to do, which we did not have time for.
The beaches are never crowded, which is part of the attraction and the nearest is a five minute walk from the appartment.
This is real Spain, the Costa that has not been touched with the package holiday. Long may it remain that way.
We had a quiet, relaxing holiday and did not want to come home!
Thanks to Margaret for all her communication and help and to Pamela, the keyholder, for looking after us and for her advice during our stay. The welcome pack of tea, coffee and especially bottled water was greatly appreciated.
We look forward to returning again next year.

A very well equipped and comfortable apartment on a quiet holiday complex ideal for those wanting a relaxing break.
The rooftop sun terrace, also very well equipped, has fantastic views over the village and although the swimming pool is communal it was never busy or noisy.
Locally there are a few restaurants and even a small supermarket but I would recommend car hire to enable a decent food shop and days out in the nearby towns of Mazzaron (15mins) and Cartagena (25mins)

Nothing to fault with "lalibela" equipped to a very high standard, air con was a must as July temps were up towards 40 degrees some days and the nights were not much cooler. Complex very quiet even for School holidays, resort rather like what Spains "costas" would have been like 30 years ago- idyllic and plenty of places to expore in and around Murcia.
We plan to return, and would certainly re book this apartment: the views from the sun terrace are " to die for"

A fantastic property with great views from the roof terrace. The weather was fantastic and the beach was deserted and very child friendly. Apartment has absolutely everything you might need with effective air conditioning, good quality kitchen wear and an effective layout. The owner through the web site was extremely helpful and the key holder on site a real source of information and help. Overall I could not recommend this property enough!

Well what a lovely relaxing time I had at your beautiful apartment, which is the best I have ever stayed in. I packed far too much clothing and will only be bringing a quarter next year when I book again! La Azohia was stunning and just what the doctor ordered. I booked this apartment on recommendation from another apartment owner so came to enjoy my stay at Lalibela quite by chance. The apartment is beautifully furnished and decorated and truly is a home from home with everything you could possibly need to make your stay memorable. The roof terrace is huge and in May got the sun from 8am to 8pm with sunloungers, a shower and a built-in BBQ where you can cook the fresh fish brought into the harbour each day and affords you panoramic views of the ocean, I spent many a night up there with a glass of wine just watching the sun set behind the mountains. Clive and Pamela, the keyholders, are lovely and always on hand to help with any questions you may have.
Travelling solo for the last few years I always try and find somewhere off the beaten track, scenic and peaceful for my holidays where you won't find a full English breakfast or sausage, egg and chips on the menu at any restaurants and I certainly hit the jackpot with La Azohia! You also won't find shops, skyscraper hotels or noisy music bars, all you will find is a tiny fishing village nestled between the dramatic mountains and blue azure sea of the Mediterranean with a few well placed restaurants.
The palm-lined promenade, which is a 5 minute walk from the apartment, hugs the stunning coastline all the way from the harbour at La Azohia to the fine sandy beach at Isla Plana. It took me half an hour to walk into the harbour from the apartment or one hour to walk the other way into Isla Plana, but with the beautiful wild flowers that were out in May and the sound of the ocean both walks were most pleasurable and seemed to take half that time. Sometimes in the two weeks I was there I never saw a soul on my walks and it felt like I was in my own little holiday world. This really is the Costa that time forgot and if you are looking for peace and relaxation, long ambling walks in spectacular surroundings without the diversions of shops and bars, then this really is the place for you. This really was the best holiday I have had to date in all my time travelling solo and whilst I know it wouldn't float everyone's boat, those looking for total relaxation and beautiful surroundings coupled with fantastic weather, fresh food and friendly faces who remember your name would love this place, it is an absolute jewel, I seriously did not realise that there were places like this left on the Spanish coast and have now finally found a place I want to return to each year.
The few restaurants in Azohia only served food in the afternoon during May, but I soon got into the habit of nipping out for the menu del dia either on the front, at the Australian Bar or in Isla Plana. I also sampled tapas at Carlos' on the Passeo in Puerto one afternoon and they were the most delicious I have had anywhere.
The weather during my stay was fantastic with only one day of rain, the rest of the time it was blue skies and temperatures starting at 24 degrees that were soaring up to the late 20's as I was leaving to come home. I came back feeling I had been away for a month, relaxed, refreshed and fitter than when I had come away with all the walking, swimming and cycling and I will be booking again for next Spring!
Many thanks to Margaret for renting me her beautiful apartment and for all her useful tips and information before I left for my holiday. I now feel I have found a second home and also a new friend.

A thoroughly recommendable spot for a quiet, relaxing break during the off-season. I imagine it could get busier in the summer though. The house is very well equipped and very comfortable, but its true that the water pressure in the shower is slightly on the weak side.

I booked this apartment for my sister and her family, as we were 10 traveling together. The apartment was nice and clean, and had a superb view over the sea from the roof terrace. El Pinar complex is great, it is so relaxing and quiet - just what we needed. Within walking distance - 10 min, from the beautiful sea and beach, which we had almost on our own :o)
The only thing to mention is the pressure on the water, it was difficult to wash long hair in the shower. Pamela took good care of us and was very helpful. Thanks for a lovely holiday - we will be back.

We had such a great time, You have a fantastic apartment with all the appliances that anyone could want, We found every thing clean and well cared for and a lot of additional and helpful information within the apartment. The solarium was just great for days when we were just too lazy to go out [even to the bar ] the views are so good from there we felt that we were on the beach all the time. We will most certainly be in contact with you for further visits, and would recommend Lalibela to any one that we know. Kind regards and a big thank you. Ptr, UK

Laura. Madrid.

Everything went very well. The place is absolutely stunning and both Fiona and myself had a fantastic time. The weather from Sunday to Wednesday evening was gorgeous. Blue skies comfortable temperatures and plenty to do. On Wednesday evening the thunderstorms and lightning show from the roof terrace was spectacular. Thursday was very wet but that was our shopping day in Murcia. We went to the Pirate watchtower and the guns at Cabo Tinoso on Monday. Cartagena on Tuesday (amphitheatre was fantastic). Wednesday was Totana, Lorca and Aguilas (maps in the flat where very handy), Murcia Thursday and relax day on Friday. Nothing stolen, definitely no complaints and will recommend to anybody and everybody I know. The menu del dia in the restaurants where spot on and Antipodas was very addictive. La Azohia is very quiet and very Spanish village and ticked all the boxes for Fiona and I.

We were very surprised how nice this property was. It help made our holiday complete. What the area has not got the property makes up for, especially the roof area, where you will enjoy some lovely evenings. The communal swimming pool proved to be very clean and was in a excellent position for children. The area is quiet and the beaches very pleasant. The town is very Spanish so be prepared to have to use your language skills, but everyone we met was very friendly and helpful. Trips to Cartagena are worthwhile with very nice restaurants and lots to see and visit. Beware if you are driving get yourself an up-to-date map as the signage isn’t the best. Great place, nice beaches, amazing views and an overall a stress free holiday.

We have just retuned from the Lalibella and have had a most enjoyable stay, although La Azohia was perhaps a little quieter than expected. The apartment was however so well equipped with loungers on the magnificent roof terrace, a shower and the fantastic barbeque which we took full advantage of!!!The views from the roof were to die for I must say. We were well taken care of by Clive and Pamela, the key holders, Clive met us at the airport and as we did not hire a car (a must really if you are confident to drive abroad which we are not)he took us to the main supermarket to do a big shop and fill the fridge with supplies! and with wine at 95 cents a bottle for reasonably decent stuff who could ask for more? The apartment was spotlessly clean and very spacious for the 3 of us. I would definately reccomend to friends and would like to take the opportunity to thank Clive and Pamela for their friendly manner and for making us feel very comfortable.

Lovely apartment in a beautifully situated complex. The views from the roof terrace in the evenings were very pretty. The apartment had everything we needed plus a few handy extras such as travel cot, highchair, BBQ, deck loungers, scuba mask & beach mats. La Azoiha is a very scenic fishing village with great beaches and it remains quite under-developed and not too touristy, which is just what we were looking for. Hopefully it will remain quiet and unspoilt. The coves and beaches of nearby Isla Plana and Porto Mazzaron were great alternatives to the La Azoiha beaches, with La Bahia beach just outside Porto Mazzaron on the way to Bolnuevo is lovely and sheltered and very child friendly.

I can't fault the apartment it was all we expected and more, especially the roof terrace where we had most of our breakfasts and evening snacks gazing out over the sea in the distance. We were unfortunate to have some rain and cloudy weather our first few days but because of the roof terrace when there was a glimpse of sunshine we were able to take advantage of it.
As for La Azohia itself, I'm not sure when the season starts but it definitely isn't until end of May. We went for 2 weeks middle May and the first week hardly anywhere was open, La Azohia may have "lots of lovely restaurants" but they aren't open middle May, but one or two seemed to be opening the second week we were there.
The apartment has an invaluable asset - a SPANISH/ENGLISH dictionary so you can find out just what it is that you have bought and how to cook it.

We were quite pleased with the flat and appreciated how well equipped it was, in particular the maps and even quality snorkling gear. For children some plastic itinerary would be safer considering the cheramic floors.
The area is nice and very tranquil and the mountains beautyfull, but as l'Azohia was quite dead at this time of year, we sought elsewehere every day after breakfeast at the rooftop.
It was nice weather allmost all of the time despite heavy rainfalls in rest of Spain - we were lucky there!
We spend time in Murcia, Cartagena, Mar Menor, the national park near Totana and Catablanque where we also went riding twice, at the Rancho Fuente in Los Belones. It is maybe costly (35 €/hour) but has highly qualified and dedicated staff plus the possibility to ride in the unique Catablanque.
So, all together we find the flat quite recommendable and the location too if one's willing to move about or just relax.

Everything at Lalibela was great. The apartment is lovely and, as people have remarked before, very well equipped and with all home comforts, even a mini-library! We were there for a couple of weeks at the beginning of December and the weather was perfect the entire time –sunshine every day, blue skies, daytime temperatures about 18 degrees C. Lovely views and some great sunsets from the solarium. Since we enjoy hillwalking it was an ideal location. We could get onto the coastal hills from the front door! Detailed ordnance survey maps are readily available – the GR92 passes El Pinar development and heads into the hills in L’Azohia – passes the Big Guns and continues to Cartagena and beyond. For those who like more gentle walking it is very pleasant to stroll along the promenade to L'Azohia harbour, or to Isla Plana in the other direction. There are very good views from the lookout tower (easy access) above the village.
The nearest town is Puerto de Mazarron which had everything. We had a car for the 16 km round trip but there is a regular very cheap bus service from the bottom of the entrance road to El Pinar. There is also a bus service to Cartagena.
Getting back to San Javier airport with Clive’s instructions was no problem whatsoever and only took 40 minutes. The only problem with driving in Spain is that new roads are being constructed at such a rate that the road maps are out of date before they are published!
In short, we would definitely recommend Lalibela as a place to stay and L’Azohia as a destination.

This area is an unspoilt area of Spain and is a delightful mix of locals and long stay N.europeans. It has a real relaxed and friendly feel about the place. Great for walking, birdlife, biking, sailing, exploring but great for shopping too!

We really enjoyed the fact that the area was quieter - it was so nice to go somewhere that hasn't had the 'costa' touch. We have just returned from a beautiful five days in the apartment in March. The apartment is as descriped in the blurb. Fantastic views from the solarium over the Bay and when it was windy on Monday you could hear the waves breaking on the shore from the solarium.
Terry runs a good pub and the food was excellent. Eimear (aged 10) thought it was a bit quiet but i guess you cant please everybody.

A new two bedroom apartment, tastefully furnished, pristeenly clean, with air conditioning in all rooms. The kitchen area is well stocked with all neccessary appliances. A private rooftop terrace, with shower, is an ideal location for barbecues and it also affords one a panoramic view of the bay. A communal swimming pool is also at the disposal of apartment residents.
We considered it to be first class and would highly recommend it to any holidaymaker.
