The area is ideally suited for family holidays in the summer, singles and couples during the rest of the year, and of course the area’s enormous selection of golf courses offer fantastic golf challenges whatever the weather.Duquesa areaThe perfect place for a morning croissant and coffee, overlooking the variety of boats that jostle in the marina, the stunning port of Duquesa provides the ideal location for all types of water sports and boating activities. The attractive promenade around the marina is home to a tempting selection of family restaurants, bars and cafés. Options for eating include French, Italian, Chinese, Indian, Thai and of course, Spanish with its fresh local fish.Within a few minutes drive are top class golf courses, such as Valderrama, Sotogrande, San Roque, Finca Cortesin and many others. Other local activities include water park for the children, wild life park, riding, sailing, polo, diving, walking, culture and history. Lying only 1km from Duquesa along the main A7, Sabinillas is the nearest town with a street market every Friday and a extensive market every Sunday morning - just the thing for those looking for a bargain. It has retained its own character which includes an inviting seafront promenade with flourishing pavement cafes and bars. While the town itself has the atmosphere and pace of life for those who want a touch of the real Spain, it also has a reputation for superb seafood bars and restaurants and a superb sandy beach that stretches the entire length of the town.Some of the other local attractions include :Gibraltar (25 minutes west) with its famous Rock and Barbary ApesTarifa (45 minutes west) along a coastal drive offering the most spectacular views of the Straits of Gibraltar and Africa is a famous windsurfing location and has extensive golden beaches. Ronda (45 minutes inland) is a well known historical city with spectacular views over a deep gorge and many beautiful buildings and monuments.
