Marina Del Mar
Urbanisation La Marina
Review by Julie from Leicester
La
Marina was quiet as we visited in October. There is a definite community feel to the area as many people live in the urbanisation. Everybody is friendly and nothing is too much trouble. A reasonable distance from the airport and there is no aeroplane noise or disturbance at all. The beaches are too far away and unsafe to walk to as parts of the roads do not have pavements. Visitors should seriously consider hiring a car although we believe taxis are not expensive. The local beaches are beautiful and sandy, Santa Pola is particularly good as the sea is very calm too. Toilet facilities are lacking along the local coastline, we had to use cafes and restaurants as the few 'aseos' available were locked up. There is also a lot of graffiti in and around La
Marina (we travelled as far as
Alicante and
Benidorm where it was just as bad). A good destination, reasonably priced.
