Other places in La Marquesa Golf
Review by Stephen from North Anston
La Marquesa Golf is one of the new 'village' type resorts built around a new golf course. The properties which have been incorporated into the resort cover the whole spectrum from low cost apartments to luxury villas with private pools. The mid-range properties, semi-detached and smaller villas, are well laid out and have access to communal pools and sunbathing areas with most having private outdoor areas and/or roof terraces.
Though not a golfer myself, the course La Marquesa is built around looks very well maintained and threads its way along 2 valleys meaning you wouldn't have to drag heavy equipment up hills in the August heat. This also gives many of the properties, built on the surrounding hills, excellent views over the golfcourse and wider area.
On the complex is a good commercial centre with Bank, a good Spanish supermarket, a couple of small supermarkets offering English brands (handy for those who can't live without Heinz salad cream) and several bars and restaurants offering different nationality food and also 'menu del dia' of 3 courses and drink at a set price.
La Marquesa itself is easy to locate from the coast road, being situated next to the pretty town of
Rojales, and is within 30 mins drive of some excellent coastal resorts such as Torrevieja and Santa Pola and only a short 10 min drive from the wonderful beach and town of Guardamar. Further afield
Alicante and
Benidorm lie to the north with the Mar Menor area to the south. For a bit of culture,
Murcia city is also only a short drive away.
All in all, La Marquesa is a great place for a family holiday. Peaceful but only a short drive to great beaches, lively towns, mountains or vibrant cities.
We will return.
