Our stay at Casa Susan was absolutely brilliant! Directions to the villa were spot on even for poor navigators like me, and once we arrived at the villa we were amazed as to how clean and equipped the villa was. Casa Susan was a perfect size for the 4 of us (2 adults 2 teenage kids), BBQ was lit every night and gave us some brilliant meals (could just do with a set of tongs though), pool is too small for swimming but clean and warm and perfect for kids to play and us to cool off in, kitchen really clean and again well equipped, furniture inside and outside had all we needed, dvds came in very handy when the kids wanted a day off from the hot sunshine. The villa is in a perfect location, its nice quiet area was lovely to enjoy but playa blanca very close by makes it quite handy for shopping and restaurants. All in all was a brilliant holiday and we all fell in love with the weather, the villa and bimbo bread. Thank you for providing us with such a lovely home for the week.

great little villa had a really relaxing week,would really reccomend getting a car unless you love walking,very quiet complex,pool is quite small only big enough for couple at time,but ideal for eight year old grandaughter as she could stand up, the water went up to her chin so felt better knowing it went no deeper.

The villa is in a lovely quiet area just a few minutes down the road to the supermarket and bus stop very relaxing and the BBQ was great. We also enjoyed the company of a local cat who is probably missing her steak and fish we fed her !

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Susan, thank you! It is a lovely villa in a quiet residential area with all the privacy you could ask for, while still being near to the local amenities. The description, information and directions we had in advance were very helpful and accurate. The size of the pool, although accurately stated on the website did somehow surprise us a little, as the photographer who took the photos was obviously an expert with a very good camera as he/she made it look bigger than it actually was! Having said that, the same could be said about the BBQ area! We loved both however and spend many a pleasant evening outside by the pool sipping our drinks, listening to music and eating local cheeses!!! Fabulous! There were 4 adults and one toddler in our party, and the villa had everything we needed and more (except perhaps for a vegetable peeler, which we only discovered because we were brave enough to attempt a proper Christmas dinner!) It is beautifully done out and all the furniture, fixtures, fittings, utensils, crockery, glasses etc are all of a very high standard, much higher than you usually expect to find in such places. Additional features like the pool lights, & the outside speakers were much appreciated, as I am sure was the TV and DVD player for those that used it. I took my ipod connector lead from my stereo at home so we could play my ipod through the stereo sound system, which was great and saved having to take a load of CDs with us. These perhaps little touches and extras to Casa Susan really do make a difference and we felt very home from home and also lucky to be there. It does indeed feel like a family home but one that everyone can feel at home in it doesnt feel like someone elses house and that you are intruding! The only little hiccups we encountered were the lack of hot water on arrival (quickly sorted by one of our party who is a plumber & heating engineer!) the fact that the oven didnt appear to like getting and staying hot (again we only discovered this because we were mad enough to attempt a full Christmas dinner with turkey! )and the fact we couldnt find any switches for, or make the 2 main outside lights work if we did find the right switches (we did ask the managing agent about it when she popped round but she didnt know about it either!). The pool lights were just about bright enough to see by but the main lights would have been helpful to see what we were eating when it got dark! We hired a car and drove around the island quite a bit seeing the main sights and just getting out & about. It isnt a pretty island but the scenery is certainly dramatic. We made use of the local facilities too including Playa Blanca old town, port & of course the Marina Rubicon. We did tackle the walk down to the Rubicon Marina a couple of times, which was a lovely walk along the coastal path despite the lack of street lamps at the end, however we only noticed that of course when we did the walk in the dark! The restaurants along the front at the port in the town were great (especially the fab fish restaurant with its local specialities), and we probably enjoyed them more than those we tried at the Marina Rubicon, which seemed a little sorry for itself at times. The early morning fish market hidden away in the old port is a real treasure too, we bought a fantastic array of fish & seafood to BBQ on our last night and wished we had discovered it earlier in the week! We initially struggled to find the nearest supermarket, Hyperdino but once we had discovered it by car, we became regular customers either by foot or by car! It is definitely the best option around in terms of food shopping although we did learn to check the dates on things! The number & variety of cheeses they stock is fabulous (and they taste equally great!) We even managed to buy a frozen turkey to defrost in time for Christmas day! We did not expect that and had resigned ourselves to pieces of chicken at best! All in all, we had a really fabulous holiday, it was warm, sunny and very chilled and relaxing we really didnt have to worry about anything at the villa, as everything was catered for and had been thought of. The property manager did come to check on us to make sure we were ok, so it was reassuring to know someone was there if we needed them to be. I would certainly recommend Casa Susan to friends & family but I wouldnt want to tell too many people in case it started to get too booked up and we wanted to come back! An absolutely lovely villa and a lovely holiday!

We enjoyed staying at Casa Susan very much. The location is ideal for traipsing around the island, and the shops and restaurants within walking distance were lovely. The villa was clean and met our needs, although we did have a couple of minor challenges. There were only two bath towels and two hand towels in the villa, with no wash cloths or beach towels. One day the water pump got stuck, which meant no water pressure for showers for several hours. The property manager, however, was on the scene to fix it within minutes. Also, on our last night, we were awakened by a shrieking smoke detectoralthough there was no fire. We have already recommended it to our friends!

Excellent villa everthing you needed was there,we thought it was situated in a quiet area which we wanted but you could easily walk or get transport to the main area of Playa Blanca.We are also at this momment looking at booking this again.

Description, information and directions were excellent and accurate. The villa has everything our family of four needed, and specific highlights would have to be the privacy of the pool and courtyard, the quality furniture/Decor and relaxed atmosphere. We had hired a car, so mostly drove to beaches and restaurants, but did on a few occasions walk into and back from the Rubicon Marina which was pleasant and no problem for our 5 year year. Street lights are switched off along the final road, but with plenty of moon light and the children having fun with a torch, there was no problem. Also found the Hyperdino shop a short walk from the villa, with the coastal path beyond (great for a morning run!). We all had a fantastic time and Hugh and Mary were very friendly and looked after us and the villa perfectly. Very highly recommended!!

July 2011 We visited the Villa Casa Susan in July 2011. Having been to Lanzarote and the Canaries on numerous occasions, this was the first time staying at a private Villa. We werent disappointed. Having priced taxis on the internet between the airport and Playa Blanca at approx 45euros one way, we decided to hire a car (Avis for a week at a cost of 110euros) which we collected on arrival at Arrecife airport. This was done through Cartrawler via the Villarenters web site and was very useful and competitively priced. The drive between the airport and the villa is approx 30-40mins and the directions provided in the Villarenters booking were excellent and made finding the villa extremly easy. The villa is situated approx 10 min walk from the rubicon marina and approx 20min walk from the main Playa Blanca resort. Personally, we took the hire car into Playa Blanca for evening dinner and a wander round the shops each night (less than a 5 min drive) and found the hire car to be an excellent decision. Alternatively, you could walk into Playa Blanca and get a taxi back for a few euros. The villa itself is superb, a real home from home. Kids were never out the pool. It literally has everything you could ever need whilst on holiday. We had a slight problem working the TV/DVD on arrival, however this was sorted extremely quickly with a quick visit from the very helpful and friendly Hugh McColl. All rooms are extremly well furnished, the main bedroom has its own ensuite and aircon, with the other two rooms having fans which were great for coooling the rooms at night.The pool and outdoor patio area are fabulous. Loved sitting at the outdoor table and chairs in the evening having a glass of wine, with the patio mood uplighters round the pool switched on. Very chilled! All in all, a very relaxing holiday at a fantastic villa, would definately hope to return in the near future and would highly recommend the villa to family and friends. Thanks again. I cannot praise Casa Susan enough. The villa Has pleanty of space, very well furnished, beautiful indoor garden as well as a lovely outdoor garden with beautiful lights at night. The pool was great, you could hardly get us away from it. The couple who look after the villa are very friendly and helpful. Playa Blanca is a lovely palce with a wealth of very nice restaurants. Not for the nightclub people - we are very glad to say. Overall a lovely holiday and we would definitely book again. Lesley and David Arnold

Casa Susan is situated in a quiet residential area which is only a 5 min walk from the local supermarket although if you would like to go into Playa Blanca town centre you would need to take a taxi. The villa has an absolute beautiful garden which can be lit up with colourful lights at night and the heated pool was amazing. The villa itself is spacious and there was plenty of room for five of us. Playa Blanca town has all the restaurants and bars that would suit anyone who is looking for a quiet relaxing holiday. You should definitely try out the restaurants that Sue & Shaun recommend in their documented information book - they serve absolutely wonderful food. First time booking independently and found the whole experience so easy. The property was clean and tidy with all the essentials needed for our holiday including games which we played in the evening with the children. The people looking after the property were excellent, lived just minutes away and sorted out any queries we had. The pool was cleaned whilst we were there. Overall, we had a great week and could have stayed for longer.
