The Apartment
A luxury gated apartment part of a small, one phase, completed development situated in the quiet exclusive residential area of El Mojon bordering both Puerto de Mazarron and Isla Plana Village. There is a communal pool and tennis courts. The apartment is on the first floor and comprises an open plan living room with dining area, kitchen with breakfast bar, bathroom, 2 bedrooms (one double and one twin) both with fitted wardrobes. The apartment is furnished to a high standard with attractive wood furniture, comfortable sofa and scatter cushions, TV and DVD, mini music centre, ceiling fans and heaters in living room and both bedrooms, Air Conditioning in main living area.The bathroom comprises of bath with shower, bidet etc. From the living room sliding doors open on to a large terrace balcony with panoramic views of the bay of Mazarron. There are table and chairs and 4 sunbeds for your relaxation. Please note this is a non-smoking apartment.
In the locality
The apartment is 3 min walk to the nearest beach. In the village of Isla Plana there are restaurants, a bank, chemist, shops and a market (during summer). Less than 5 mins drive away (25 mins walk) is the Port of Mazarron with extensive shopping facilities and restaurants. The Bay of Mazarron boasts more than 35 kms of coastline along which you will find an array of long sandy beaches, cliffs, clear waters and unspoilt coves, surrounded by picturesque mountains. The waters offer the chance to take part in many water sports including canoeing, sailing windsurfing, and all year round diving.
Take a stroll down the palm tree-lined promenade to the new Marina. Also you will find many bars and restaurants which offer excellent international cuisine including Spanish, Chinese, Italian, Greek, Portuguese, Indian, Mexican, German and English. There is also a large outdoor market on Sunday morning.
The Port is still primarily a Spanish resort and there is an influx of Spanish holiday makers from Madrid and other parts of Spain during the summer months. A testamount to the high regard in which it is held.
Worth a visit are the ´Big Guns´ which formed part of the coastal defences in WW2 (reputed to have been used in the film 'Guns of Navarone'). There are great views from this location of the coastline.
Also worth a visit are the Sierra Espuña Natural Park and the historic cities of Lorca and Murcia.
For some retail therapy try Cartagena which has many well known stores including Zara, Mango, El Corte Ingles and two shopping centres. Cartagena is the oldest city in Spain and dates back over 3000 years with many historic artifacts such as the Roman theatre.
Further away - why not go to Granada and visit the world renowned Alhambra Palace or go skiing in the Sierra Nevada 2hr 30mins away by car .
There are a selection of leaflets on different places and activities at the apartment. Others can be found in the Tourist Information Office in the Port of Mazarron.
Golf
At Camposol (15 min drive) there is a 18 hole course. Near to Fuente Alamo there is the prestigious Hacienda del Alamo 18 hole course (35 minutes drive) and the prestigious course at La Manga is also only 30 minutes drive. There are numerous other golf courses.
