A LOVELY VILLA, BUT REQUIRES REDECORATING AND UPKEEP TO THE GARDEN AREA.THERE WAS ONLY ONE SAUCEPAN WITH A HANDLE AND THAT WAS BURNT SO COOKING WAS A PROBLEM. GLASS WAS MISSING FROM A WALL CUPBOARD IN THE KITCHEN. THERE WERE NO TOWELS WHEN WE ARRIVED AND THE BEDS WERE ONLY MADE UP WITH ONE SHEET. FOR A SMALL AMOUNT OF MONEY THIS VILLA COULD BE SPECTACULAR BUT NEEDS URGENT MAINTENANCE.
Owner reply:
Firstly I would like to apologise to Jan and her party for any inconvenience caused. However we feel the comments are a bit harsh. Towels etc were supplied as soon as it was pointed out. Sri Lanka was particularly hot during this period with a water shortage which hindered watering the garden. Hence our usual high standards were not met, but things are back to normal now.
The house manager had as usual gone out of his way to assist our guest with their shopping, transport etc. Our hospitality surely was worth a mention. N.B. contrasting review posted 1 month earlier.
However we take all criticisms on board and will address them immediately. We have just supplied new linen, towels, cutlery and saucepans

The Villa was gorgeous as was the swimming pool and grounds, intially we thought we were quite isolated but quickly got into using Tuc Tucs.We visited with 4 children and had a fantastic time.We visited Colombo,Negombo and Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. We used buses, trains, taxis and hired a drver on two days.We were met by the Manager who took us shopping and couldn,t have been more helpful. Its lovely to have the house to come to at the end of busy hot days, you can take the train to Negombo and use any of the Hotel facilities,we had Lunch, pool and beach at the Browns Beach hotel for around £6 each.I looked at the size of hotel rooms,it reinforced what a good choice it was to book a house, children could play inside and outside.Thoroughly enjoyable stay.

We have just had our holiday in Sri Lanka we stayed at Nivasipura near ja ela. This was an ideal holiday a very well equipped house a good bus service to ja ela or to the capital Colombo also a very good taxi service ja ela is about 4 km it has 2 very modern supermarkets an a fish market also a very good retaraunt in Reality Plaza. Nivasipura is the ideal place for rechargeing your batteries 2 swimming pools and plenty fresh air. If you have any problems you have a very good house caretaker who will put you on the right track. This is the best holiday we have had in Sri Lanka. (we have been to Sri Lanka for the last 11 years
