My husband, myself and 2 friends stayed at Ardmair Bay House at the beginning of May and can honestly say it deserves its 5 star rating both for the quality of the house and fittings to its amazing views. We have rented villas & apartments in many parts of the world over the last 25 years and would definitely put it amongst the best we have stayed in . When we arrived at the house on a cold, wet day were disappointed that the heating had not been put on in anticipation of our arrival, therefore had to wait for a few hours for the house to heat up and the log burner certainly helped to get the house warmed up on our first day. In all the years we have been renting, this is the first time we would have had to pay extra to use the hot tub (£100 for week) and as we are not “hot tub lovers” did not request this but we could hear the hot tub switching on and off therefore not sure why there is this additional charge especially in a property of this cost/star rating and also the uncertainty about the weather. In spite of these comments, we would like to return to the house in the future and would certainly recommend it to friends.

4.5 stars
Lovely house, gorgeously situated. We had a great time and are already planning a return visit. Much thought has obviously gone into the houses fittings, from the enormous and comfortable beds to the beautiful modern bathroom fittings. Even the tasteful and location-appropriate artwork added to the overall impression that no expense was spared in making Ardmair Bay House a luxurious and relaxing retreat. The hot tub was just the icing on the cake!

We spent a lovely week late October 2012 with two families in this excellent house. Lots of rooms and space luxury all over. Stunning views from the house, the terrace and the hot tub. Beautiful walks, all in close range. We sure can reccomend the walk to the bone caves. And dont forget to walk from the backgarden over the hills to the lighthouse just great. Nine holes on the Ullapool Golf Course isnt a waste of time either. And last but not least, we made a boat trip on to the ocean. Sunny, no wind, 15 degrees Celsius and we spotted seals, whales, sharks and 120 dolphins, who were swimming and diving around the boat for more than half an hour. So just do it., you wont regret...!

We had a fantastic week living it up in the high quality accommodation of Ardmair Bay House, thoroughly deserving of its 5 star rating. The location and layout makes the most of the view over the Loch and Island to the mountains, stirring in the night and seeing the mountain and Loch from bed was amazing, The six of us were the first to stay in this holiday accommodation, it had all the equipment we needed, so taking turns to cook there was no point eating out with this house and location to enjoy. There was lots of space, we could gather together in the large lounge or go to separate rooms to watch TV or sit out on the patio to admire the view. The house is very well equipped with a modern clean “designer” style, the high quality substantial furnishings making this work very well, with interesting fixtures for the bathrooms. The hot-tub was one of life’s luxuries sitting out there in warm bubbling water looking across the loch and Island to the mountains. The downstairs bedroom and wet room was ideal for the member of our group with weaker legs. Internet access let us bring a laptop to keep an eye on weather forecasts and use walkhighlands website to plan our wanders. The whole group enjoyed the “all abilities” path to the Lochs just beyond LochAssynt Lodge, another day two of us took the Quinag stalker’s path past the Lochen and reached the summit of Sail Garbh. Other outings were the easy but interesting walk along Knockan Cliffs geological trail, a wander round Leckmelm gardens, Rhue lighthouse to watch the sunset, ( there’s a geocache there) and the afternoon cruise round the entrance to Loch Broom and in to Ardmair Bay.
