We were 6 - 3 adults with 3 kids (from 6 to 11) and we were all happy: kids were playing ping pong - and that was really great, we were enjoying alfresco eating and drinking and long walks. It was warm and sunny most of the time. And we have found quite decent eating places nearby. We would recommend Tautavel museum to families with kids. Will do our best to come again in summer.

Our group consisted of 2 families - 4 parents and 5 kids from 15 - 6. Although we are very experienced travelers, this was the 1st time wed rented a house and we were very impressed. Booking with our agent was an easy, agreeable process. The house is very centrally located in Prades, minutes from the centre of a well-equipped town with excellent summer attractions of its own and central to many other regional attractions. Very clean with all the mod-cons. With 2 families splitting the bill, it was superb value. Weve promoted it through our social networks - highly recommended.

Brilliant location with excellent views and many opportunities for good walks. Accommodation comfortable for four couples. Well equipped kitchen. Apart from a few teething problems we had an great holiday.

After many attempts to use the rental systems payment service I overpaid as I couldnt change the amount on the system to the correct amount offered by the vendor which took nearly 3 weeks to be re-paid.
The view from the house was amazing its a large property and could be absolutely lovely, but we were dissappointed with the inside condition of the house, it does need a bit of TLC especially the hallway. The floor seemd to be dusty and unwashed when we arrived. When we came to use the dishwasher we found the last tenants had left the dirty plates and cutlery in the dishwasher unwashed, we also found dirty plates and utensils in the cupboards and had to wash everything before using it, which we did mention to the owner who was very apologetic.
We were also very limited as to where we could eat, although the town/village centre was just a short walk away there was only 3 decent restaurants to choose from.
One we did enjoy visiting twice is Le Patio not the cheapest but well worth it.

The location of the house is wonderful, a bit on a hill with great view. Directly from the house one can do some nice hiking up the hill, e.g. to the abbey St Michael de Cuxa. Very quiet and green area with beatiful flowers. About 15 min walk down to the old city with the church. We particularly appreciated the modern and very well equipped kitchen, and, due to 36° in august, the air condition in each room- splendid!. We were only 3 persons, but the house is ideal for a small family as well, we simply used only the first floor, with its lovely balkony. The house makes a very fresh impression, with a nice bathroom. Prades itself is not at all touristic, not even during the music festival (which is really great if you like classical music!). We did some hiking in the mountains which is really great, but the roads are rather difficult to drive sometimes. People are generally very friendly in the Pyrenees and we were often surprised by this friendly, calm and very helpful attitude. Lots of lovely old villages and castles.

habitation très bien située
vues sur la ville et les montagnes exceptionnelles
intérieur très bien agencé
seul bémol, il faudrait des récipients plus grands pour faire la cuisine, lorsquil y a 10 personnes

Spent four nights in Prades in March. The house is suitable for two even though it sleeps more. The view is superb and the walk into town is only 10 minutes, so its great to feel youre a bit out of the hustle and bustle yet so near to it too. Prades is well placed for lots of things to do. Good walking in the locality especially the Gorge de Caranca (though not for vertigo-challenged!). Eric looked after us well and gave us tips on what to do in the area. Table tennis in the basement is a nice extra!

I truly enjoyed my stay, am very happy. The place is perfectly located, with a breathtaking mountain view from the living room and balcony. The house was very clean, all amenities in order, beds and sitting areas comfortable and arranged with taste and wisdom. Being a "hotel guy", I was at first very skeptical about the idea of booking there, but eventually was satisfied way beyond my expectations. I will definitely refer it to people I know, and will have no doubts where to stay should I visit that neighborhood again!

(Incabilouis, France)

House was great, views wonderful, table tennis a real hit, however there were not enough private bed spaces for the nine adults in our group. Two bed settees were in thoroughfares, and the third was in a smallish room right next to a double bed.
A floor plan on the web site would have alerted us to this. In fact none of the web sites advertising this house mention that the second lounge has 5 (or any) rooms leading off it.
One person in our group had to sleep in the main lounge, meaning we could not breakfast in there and take in the wonderful views. Also he had to go to bed last every night.
Still a great house, value for money and I would go back there, in a smaller group.

I felt unable to selec t one of the options for "met your expectations?" because halfway house did not meet all my expectations but I was not disappointed. I had to do this though in order to submit the review electronically.
The house was great, and good value for money, and the new table tennis table proved wonderful for our group of 9 adults (including 5 youngsters aged 17 to 22), but I do not think that this house is suitable for groups containing more than 8 fully grown people. This is because as the website states there are 4 bedrooms, but as none of the many websites advertising this house that I have read, make clear the second lounge, containing one of the bed settees, is a thoroughfare with 5 rooms leading off it.
There is a bed settee in the games room, but this is even more of a throughfare than the second lounge. The third bed settee is in one of the smallish bedrooms, so is only suitable for a child sharing with parents or for 3 very close friends.
One of my sons had to sleep in the upstairs lounge/ dining room, which meant that this lovely room with the wrap round balcony and the wonderful views, could not always be available to the rest of the party. It also meant that he had to put his bed out every night after everyone else had gone to bed. Still good value for money and I would return any time in a smaller party. We had a good time. I suggest a floor plan be added to the advert so that people are not mis led.
Owner reply:
Thank you very much for your comments! Its the first time I am told the smaller living room is not good for adults to sleep there though we have large groups quite often! Well, if you think so - there may well be some other people who feel the same. Well provide a screen for delicate guests next time. And its a great idea to show the floor plan on the website. Again thank you!
I just think its a bit unfair to put 2 1/2 stars to a house like ours..... Anyway you are welcome! Come again! Winter is great here too!

Lovely views and very adequate accommodation for 6 people. Quite a walk up to the place from the town which was fine most times. but a little difficult if you had lots of heavy shopping to carry.
We went in April and found the price very reasonable. We did a few days without a car and used local trains but they were not reliable and a car would have helped us see more of the surrounding areas.

We had an enjoyable week in Prades in July 2007. The house in very generous in size with ample room for 8 adults plus children.
The view from the lounge window of the Pyrenees is stunning. There is a small garden with barbeque, which is a sun trap.
The small town of Prades has a lovely market and we found some good eating places.
We wouldn't hesitate to return.

Thanks we did have a very nice time in the house, its a nice good house perfect for a big family and the area was just perfect for both adults and kids.
The house is well situated for tours around in the area where there are a lot of tourist attractions. You have to have a car there.
We had nice weather and a good temperature nice warm. There is a beautiful sight over the city and the mountains.
When I’m going to that area again on vacation I would be happy to rent the house again.
The people looking after the house are friendly helpful and quick.
The owner has been very quick too to respond on all my mails, sms and calls.
So all in all it has been a very good experience that I would be happy to do again.

Hello Anna!
First of all, we have to say that we like a lot the house, the village and the scenery we can see through the window. We can imagine how beautiful it can be with snow. We hope to go back, there a lot of places to visit in Pirynees.....
