An Activity Heaven All Year Round

The town centre, a 10 minute stroll, has a lot of restaurants and all the necessary shops, as well as banks and ATMs. A supermarket is in 1.5 km. There is a large municipal swimming pool and tennis courts at a 1 km distance. All kinds of sports, sightseeing, nature watching, hot springs and spas and a lot of wine related activity, the closest wine making village being only 6 km away.
Prades is a very pretty French with a big and colorful market on Tuesday and Saturday mornings where you can buy local produce such as the peaches and cherries that are grown in abundance here, fresh vegetables, wonderful cheeses and the excellent wine. There are events and festivals throughout the year. Spanish cellist Pablo Casals fled to Prades during the Spanish civil war, stayed and established the festival that now bears his name and is held each year for 2 weeks in July-August at Prades itself, but also in the Saint-Michel-de-Cuxa.
