Gentle House is a comfortable and spacious apartment just outside the outskirts of Ravello. It stands in an enviable and peaceful setting and faces stunning views of verdant, terraced lemon groves and vineyard cut into the rock which slope down to the coastline with Maiori and Minori bays below. This independent villa is quite modern and is on 2 floors. It is reached by descending 120 steps from the road, through a pretty garden and paved terrace which extends around the house . The owners, during the summer week-ends, occasionally occupy the apartment on the first level while the property for rent is on the ground level.
The interior is simple, but comfortable and well equipped for holiday use. It offers accommodation for a family, or three couples who wants to enjoy the warmth and charm of this magical village. Entrance into a large, open-plan sitting /dining room with open fire place, dining table for 6, TV and CD player , sitting area with leather divan for 2, armchairs and a French door to the front large , furnished terrace making it fine for dining, relaxing and enjoying the astonishing views. Fully equipped kitchen, with door to terrace at the side, having cooker with 4 gas rings , electric oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. This accommodation has 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom ( can be doubled) , each with window to the rear of the house. One bathroom has an open , wall mounted shower and WC while the other bathroom has bath tub, WC, etc.

For the ultimate enjoyment of local flavour, a Tuesday morning market takes place just below the picturesque central square which is also packed with Ravello’s main attractions such as the medieval Duomo, its interesting museum, and the infamous Villa Rufolo, one of the 2 garden estates in the village, for which Ravello is well known. Villa Rufolo , with its Moorish cloisters, exotic Mediterranean flora and vista terraces, is also host to one of Italy’s premier open-air music festivals which runs from April to October.

Access: 120 steps down from the road level ( where it is possible to park) lead to entrance via small garden with lemon trees.

Proximity to major attractions: The house is about 10 mins walking from the main square Piazza Vescovado but a short walk takes guests into the small Piazza Fontana which houses a bar , a restaurant and 2 groceries shops for immediate provisions otherwise shops for every purpose, restaurants and pizzerias, etc are a further 5 minutes walking. Amalfi and the beaches are just a bus-ride away (20 min.). The blue SITA buses leaving every hour at the entrance to the tunnel outside the Garden Hotel.
