There is noise from early morning deliveries, and from the bars, but minimal and not enough to stop us from returning The quality of furnishings is great and both Emma and Mike are really professional and helpful....from the welcoming "essentials"...milk, butter, cheese, water, tea, coffee.....to Emma's parting words..."if you get stuck at the airport, ring me and we'll get you somewhere to sleep". The main swimming pool could have benefited if it had a shallow end rather than all one level, there were however 2 swimming pools and 2 paddling pools. We were traveling with a 10 month old baby. Rose had the crib, high chair, bibs, etc. ready. Fabulous view. 5 minutes to the beach, grocery shopping, food. We had Stavros give us a tour of Athens. Wow...he covered it all. Learned so much from him. Went back into Athens on our own using our GPS. Super easy to find your way from the house. About 45 min. drive to either Athens or the airport. Highly recommend a stay here. Many items stocked on your arrival so the stop at the store is not necessary for a day or so. The apartment was modern, well equipped and spacious. The proximity to the beach was great and the promenade a few minutes drive away had a great selections of restaurants and a play area for kids. We went in April when it was very quiet which suited us perfectly because we had the beach virtually to ourselves. My fiancé and I booked a week's holiday there recently and couldn't believe how beautiful the cottage and the surrounding areas were. Claire the owner of the cottage was incredibly helpful answering any question we had and also helping us out by pointing us in the direction of some really lovely walks in the area. These cottages represent excellent value for money. They are simple, yet beautifully decorated with everything you need to have a quiet day lounging by the pool, or an evening meal cooking a Turkish BBQ. Alternatively if you fancy going out for a meal, there are plenty of restaurants in Kaya that can cook for you instead - including one at the bottom of the driveway! The cottages are incredibly well connected to Fethiye with a dolmus literally on your doorstep that departed every hour while we were there (low season), stopping at Hisaranou and Ovacik (where you could change to go to Oludeniz). We didn't struggle for transport at all during our stay, enjoying the convenience of the bus on the door step, but also the peace of the village. Travelling 10 mins down the road by bus was not a big problem! There is shopping strip mall and large grocery store within walking distance and a local bus stop around the corner. It is a 10 minute ride to the capital, St. Johns. There is also a smaller grocery store just around the corner as well. If you are not used to walking, you may want to rent a car. We enjoyed walking and riding the bus. The landlords who live nextdoor were fabulous. We relied on them for directions and suggestions on where to go. They are a tremendous asset!!! I am already planning another trip less than 2 months. The full sized kitchen, appliances and separate utility room were a bonus. There is lots to do and the owners are on site and very helpful. The very complete book for visitors told us everything we wanted to know about the house, the area and things to do . It is blissfully quiet yet not far from busy towns and the wonderful islands and beaches. The garden and terrace were the perfect place to relax after a busy day. The only thing I would say is that it's quite a walk to the harbour...I think the ad says 15 minutes but it's more like double that and we are pretty fast walkers. Being in a new residential area, there also wasn't much in the way of restaurants, or anything else, very close. We could not of been more happy with the beautifully furnished and well equipt apartment. The complex and pool were very clean and the grassed area was well kept. We loved how friendly the turkish people were, nothing is too much trouble. Gino, the local fix it man, made us feel so welcome and advised us on were we could eat, shop and sight see.Gino also arranged for us to go on the saturday boat trip, we were picked up from our door taken to the boat and at the end of the day driven back home all for £15, it was unbelievable! It's pretty spacious and having bedrooms on different floors is good. Good number of bathrooms for this many girls! The stereo system is located in a far corner in the kitchen which means you had to play music loud to hear it around the house- as the nieghbours had already asked us not to play music too loud, this was a bit of a down point. The biggest disappointment with the house is the finish is not great and the service from the landlord was not great- we had too few bedsheets and towels and the bed sheets did not fit on some of the beds. There were not enough glasses and cups so we had to have breakfast in 2 sittings. a real shame to spoil a good rental home with just a little more thought and care it could be a great rental. Unfortunelty rental homes of this size are rare in Brighton so I fear the landlord may not go that extra mile to improve things as there are sure to be many people wanting the place anyway.
