Amarilla Golf is a perfect place to visit if you want to relax, sun bathe, swim and take it easy for a while. There is also (obviously from the name!) a golf course there. Amarilla Golf is really close to the airport so getting to the area is really simple, but the noise from the aircraft is minimal so doesn't impact at all on the enjoyment of your holiday. The local roads are quiet so driving is easy, especially if you're not used to driving on the other side of the road! There are local restuarants and bars which are aimed at British tourists - if you want fish and chips, roast dinners, chinese food, and kareoke bars you'll enjoy the local town but if you want to try Spanish food you'll be out of luck. It's a real shame that the local area only caters for British tourists who don't want to try anything Spanish. But you can easily avoid the restaurant and bar area and relax in a lovely, quiet villa.

Despite Amarilla Golf still being developed it is located on the edge of gulf de sur which is better developed and a source of varied evening entertainment. We are regular visitors to the resort and like the resorts family orientated facilties and the green of the golf courses. Te resort being near to Los Americas etc, it is also ideally situated for those who seek more lively evening entertainment but without having to live amounst the hussle and bussle.

Amarilla golf is an almost hidden away secret place!! It was very quiet when we were there in August 2008. For families wanting seclusion and peace this is it!
It is being developed gradually so expect the next few years to get busier and more built up.
Restaurant choice is still limited in the area, but other places are a short drive away.
Don't think that you won't need car though! YOU WILL. But driving is easy and i enjoyed it thoroughly. Even the local freeway/motorway (TF1) is easy to drive on and only 6/7 mins away. Be warned that the junction to get on it is busy most times but traffic is moving all the time-no stationary jams like the UK!
There are some fantastic cliff walks around Amarilla Golf, but very rocky and loose paths. If you walk across the golf course in the evening though, expect the sprinklers to come on at random times and soak you!! We sat on a bench at the side of the 10th tee and got absolutely soaked when the sprinkler came on right at the side of us! Cooled us down though!
Overall a very, very quiet place with no sandy beaches though. Los Cristianos has the 2 best sandy beaches by far on the island (the 2 at the side of the port). Follow signs for los cristianos port from TF1.
We only saw 5 people over a 2 hour walk about midday in the week!!
The submarine tour from the marina in Amarilla golf is a must.
To see the vivid green fairways and greens amongst the tenerife volcanic landscape is awesome though.
Fantastic place for families and golfers but not for young clubbers!

Amarilla Golf is beautiful and very peaceful and quiet yet if you want some entertainment there are plenty of restaurants near by or you can reach Los Christianos in 10 mins by car. The views are breath taking and if you love golf your in heaven. The golf courses are imaculate.

When the developments are complete it sholud be a very nice holiday destination, particularly for golfers. The breeze kept it very cool - ideal for golfing.
Review by Claire Hendriksen from Warwick
The villa is in a lovely quite area, unspoilt by any lager louts, with lovely views of the golf course and the odd golf ball landing in the patio or pool. We knew it was near to the airport and on the flight path, but it proved quite fascinating to see the different makes of airline. Having made trips to Los Christianos and Las Americas we were so glad were weren't staying there.

The resort is great for people who want to get away from the crowds. It is quite difficult to find! There are quite a few decent restaurants, although no real entertainment. Everyone is very friendly. There is no real beach so a pool is essential.
