Review by Angela Neill from Maidstone

Coral Bay was a friendly little town with plenty variety of restaurants/bars. Lovely sandy beach, not too crowded in September. Reasonably priced.

Review by Prudence Jones from Oldbury West Midlands

We stayed at Villa Catarina excellent view we liked the Irish Pub.  Bus travel excellent, they were clean, air conditioned and regular.  So easy to travel to the beach and local shops.  We spent two weeks and dine out most night  and loved it everyone was so friendly.  Will definately like to come visit Coral Bay again and have recommended it to lost of our friends.  Thanks very much

Review by Gary Blay from London

We really enjoyed our time in Cyprus. Lots to do if you wanted and nothing to do if you wanted that, too. The food was excellent, it's worth checking out the locals and getting their opnions. One or two 'English Themed Pubs' around but if that's what you want, fine. The nightlife was sufficiently far away from our villa to not be a concern, but Coral Bay 'High Street' gets very lively, be warned!! That said, you can dine near the villa in many other places, all of which offer traditional and not so traditional menus, Jade Palce, for example is a very nice Chinese restaurant which is very popular, as is the local Keralam South Indian Restaurant. The local buses are very cheap will take you to the harbour in Paphos and on to the market too, check out the Mehmet Turkish Baths while you are there, great place to stop for trad Cypriot breakfast too. Buses are air-conditionted and cheap, E1.50 per person. Be careful about sun-screen when you go out and about, bring your hat too as it get very hot 38-40 midday. Highly recommended are the local bus tours, Troodos mountains and Aphrodites Pool reccommended and the boat trips from the harbour are excellent and won't break the bank..If you are self-catering or just want some supplies for your own BBQ or a home cooked dinner round by your pool, then make for the larger supermarkets, a local cab firm will take you there and wait, the very local smaller supermarkets should only be used for bread, water etc as they are quite pricey. The bigger supermarkets are cheap for fruit and veg and the meat is very reasonable too...to be able to snorkel and swim in the sea every morning from our villa was wonderful, a ten min stroll to the beach, get there early tho as it get very busy and very hot later on! So, thanks Cyprus for a great holiday, we'll be back for sure!

CORAL BAY IS THE BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD,HOT,GOOD FOOD,LOVELY PEOPLE YOU JUST DONT WONT TO LEAVE WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PLACE.

Review by Ghislaine Watts from Wantage, Oxfordshire

Coral bay itself is full of English people which at first I was unsure about, but after a day or 2 to find our footing I found that I rather liked that aspect, and the "real" cyprus is only a few minutes drive away which was totally charming.. we were ripped off by an old Greek lady in a "real" bar up a mountain which will give us stories to entertain our friends for ages! And some of the "real" Cyprus roads were SO hair raising I wasn't sure I would actually survive but the views and experience were SO worth the blood drain! We made really great friends with some of the restaurant owners who just embraced so nicely the whole family and entertained our 9 year old with Greek dancing.. we all loved it.

Overall an extremely relaxing holiday with natural unspoilt beauty spots. Excellent clean restaurants serving large helpings. Never seen such a beautiful azure blue sea with wonderful sunsets. Only negative comment - do they not have street cleaners and have never seen so many junk cars which is really letting the island down.

Review by Michelle Lomas from Chesterfield

Coral Bay gas everything for a family holiday. It has 2 clean beaches, Coral Bay is better and less rocky than Coralia Beach. It has an excellent, if not over priced, bar, which offers drinks, snacks and free music whilst taking in the "family atmosphere" which the whole of Coral Bay offers. The watersports are excellent and not too pricy!

For the Gents (or footie loving ladies) the bars on the main strip offer every Premiership game all at the same time in the same bar! The evening enterainment is varied, although the male / female mind readers / magitions were not all their billing made out!! More comedy than mind boggling.

There is an excellent choice of restaurants and the Chinese Restaurant at the side of the sports bar, was the best and tastiest chinese meals we have ever had.

The local people were excellent with the kids and although we would not stay in the same villa, we will be back to Coral Bay!!!!

Review by Theresa Chester from Durham

Cyprus great all year destination, plus the fact that driving is on the left and car hire so cheap means that getting around the island is no problem. Puplic transport ie buses also very cheap and frequent. Coral bay and corrallia beach which is next door, very good for safe bathing if you have kids and both beaches are blue flag.

Review by Rose Williams from Winsford

If we could afford to buy a villa there we would it is just in the right spot. Not too near the centre and not too far away. Seems to be a good place for families.

Review by Steve Henderson from Harrogate

The resort had a good selection of restaurants with large menus in each to cater for all tastes. It has banks, cash machines, small supermarkets and shops. Very relaxed atmosphere and very hot in August. The main beach is great with lots of watersports at good prices. If driving turn left after the main beach and down to another cove near a hotel this was a superb little beach and was much quieter and good for snorkling. Eating out was quite expensive 70-80 Euros for 2 adults and 2 children. Food can be purchased from the supermarkets and we found a great butcher and fish mongers in a nearby village (Over the main Paphos road and up the hill about 2-3 miles both on the left). We would recomend a drive over to Lakki to the north and hire a boat or go on a boat trip very unspoiled coatline with oportunities to swim in the crystal clear waters. We have more to see of Cyprus and will return to Coral Bay in the future.

Review by Paul Childs from Rainham

A great unspoilt region that is perfect for recharging the batteries. A warm welcome awaits wherever you go. We tried a different restaurant each night during our 7 day stay and can honestly say that every meal we had was superb. We couldn't fault the food, the service or the hospitality. The beach was clean and very well maintained. Very safe for youngsters. A return to the area is guaranteed

Review by Patricia Thorn from Rhu

Coral Bay was situated in one of the quieter areas of the Island but having said that there were plenty of varied restaurants well able to cater for most tastes. The bus service into Paphos was excellent and regular and good value for money. Overall the area was pleasant and best for adults. Again the Bay area was pleasant but catered mainly for adults.

Review by jayne and ste morgan from Warrington

The people of coral bay are so friendly, helpful and genuine. All the restaurants offered good quality food and drink and were very accomodating of your needs.

The area was clean, apart from the areas where building work was taking place.

The only one item that i did not like were the holiday club workers who would stop you on the street and try to get you to go on a tour of the new holiday complex.

Review by David Bowker from Stamford

A good variation of just enough bars and restaurants not to feel overcrowded or noisy. Coral Bay is clean and friendly and would suit all ages.

Review by Diana Stone from Wooler

Coral Bay we visited in April bit quiet in the evenings.

With the Euro now we did find it expensive

Good beach

Review by IRENE MOORE from CHESTERFIELD

Ideal beach for young children-baeutiful clear sea, not too deep and lots of sand. Many diving opportunities as well. There are numerous good child friendly resturants in Coral Bay as well.Overall very clean and a good place for families.

Review by Richard Durance from Forres

This small Bay - may shortly become over developed as many new Villas are being built & estate agents are full of resales from surrounding towns.

Review by Andree Day from Winchester

We went out of season (March) so not everything was open. We were self catering in a wonderful villa but found the largest supermarket on the strip to be very expensive. In fact less than a few yards down the road was a small supermarket which was cheaper.

We hired a car and drove to a local village Peyia and found a wonderful local butcher, (11 sirloin steaks for aprrox £15) a "to die for" bakery with fresh pittas, bread and lots of different types of cakes and the supermarket for your other groceries was much more reasonable.

Worth hiring a car for.

Review by ROGER THOMAS from London

Coral Bay itself was not impressive - too monopolised by Brits! It was very low season so wasn't at its best perhaps. But it was a good base for exploring more of the island. We visited more authentic Cypriot villages and ate in a couple of good tavernas and saw a number of achaeological sites.

Review by Richard Fletcher from Kingston upon Thames

Coral Bay area is a beautifully relaxing part of Cyprus and is suitable for the slightly more adventurous travellers to Cyprus. Whatever anybody says, it is preferable to have a car to really explore that end of the island. Being fairly close to Paphos means you get the best of both worlds in that Coral Bay is nicely relaxing yet Paphos and its night life is only 15 minutes drive away. The friendliness of the Cypriots is well known and all restaurants will look after you even though the menus are fairly standard.

Review by Kate King from Shipston on Stour

Coral Bay is your typical cyprus resort but being on the smaller side provides a good nightlife without the mayhem of a larger town. The restaurants are lovely and the service is excellent. Their are several beaches within easy access all of which are clean and suitable for families.

Review by Veronica Stanners from High Wyombe

We found Coral Bay beach a lovely safe beach. The beach had lots of car parking spaces, (some of them shady). Freshwater shower was accessible, and toilets not too far from beach. There was a cafe which overlooked the beach. There were plenty of sun beds and parasols for a minimal charge. The beach was clean and bathing was safe. Watersports included pedal boats and a banana boat ride.

Review by Susan Curtis from Bournemouth

We loved Coral Bay and will be visiting again. Whilst we don't have a family we did note that the beaches are ideal and safe for small children. We hired open buggies for a few days fun riding around the Paphos area and found this a wonderful way to see all the sites.

Review by Sade Jones from Feltham

If you're looking for a relaing break with plenty of amenities to hand, excellent public transport and fantastic weather, this is the place. A fantastic family holiday destination.

Review by DOREEN COLEYSHAW from WEDNESBURY

CORAL BAY IS A BEAUTIFUL RESORT WITH PLENTY OF BARS AND RESTAURANTS. IT IS IN AN IDEAL LOCATION BEING LESS THAT A 30 MINUTE DRIVE TO PAPHOS IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR EVEN MORE CHOICE. ONE OF THE MOST PEACEFUL PLACES WE HAVE HOLIDAYED AT - WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND IT.
