We ate at Funny Mummy most nights having tried a few other places which we didn't like as much. The food is very good and excellent value (a fresh fish for two 100LE with rice/veggies) - everything comes with free mezze and fruit salad, the service is friendly and pretty efficient.
it was so quiet that we had to set alarm clocks because we all slept so deeply, but easy walking distance to the restarurants, bars, bazaar.
Although all the restaurants try to tempt you in, no-one is too pushy and we felt welcomed rather than harassed!

Dahab is a superb destination for relaxing, the bedouin people are very chilled and life moves very slowly so always be willing to wait a little time for meals etc. The wait is always worth it though and there is an array of excellent and very reasonably priced places to eat. You can choose from low bedouin syle seating to more upmarket places, it just depends on what your preference is, all can be accommodated. There are many trips on offer including dinner in the desert, The coloured canyons, St Catherines Monastary, Ras Mohammed National Park, day trips to petra and plenty of scuba diving. This is a very safe place for lone women travellers and the locals are respectful, I have been to Dahab 6 times as a lone woman traveller and have never felt unsafe.
